The trunk has a hinged lid, and the original lining is still inside the bottom portion of the trunk. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, although it is torn in quite a few places, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and the original locking mechanism is now missing. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well, although they are covered with a fair amount of surface rust. The trunk also has other label remnants on it from travel, as well as a partial guarantee label inside the lid.

Vintage Dome Top Trunk Chest ca.1900 NO SHIPPING FEES - LOCAL PICKUP ONLY
T his lovely dome-top trunk measures 34" wide. 19.5" deep and 22" high. Its beauty is the embossed tin ivy pattern and the oak straps and trim. We have used it for 30 years as a central decorative piece with the added advantage of storage space. Old trunks fit into every decor. Small casters are built into the base for rolling. Glides were added prior to our ownership. Most probably to protect the casters. These can be easily removed if desired. The leather straps rotted out years ago, a common occurrence for old trunks. And some of the interior paper is ripped. Other than that, it is in very good condition considering its apparent age of over 100 years. There is no key for the lockset. Two additional latches are situated on each side of the lockset. All hinges, corners, nails and metal clamps for the oak slats are tight with ... moreno missing pieces. This is a wonderful bronze little miniature trunk box- It has plain panels of bronze decorated with molded iodized copper edging on corners and top. Lots of detailed workmanship- havent seen one like this before. Good condition- some verdina- and copper is showing through on edges. Old label on bottom reads'Normand' with a serial# and Laval. Quebec as place of origin. Size is 2 3/8" high x 2 3/8" wide and 3 1/2" long. I have another similar box listed- a little larger. Shipping can be combined. see my other needlework items. Antique Shwayder Bros. Samson Steamer Trunk with it's original inside tray. This trunk is estimated to be from the 1930's and is in very. Very good condition. Shwayder Trunk Co. originated in 1910 and the name was changed to Shwayder Bros. Inc. Samson in 1939. In 1965 the named changed to Samsonite. The trunk has it's original tray and they are both lined in it's original patterned paper. These trunks are hard to find with their original trays and also it has old newspaper from 1957 laying flat inside both the tray and the trunk; the paper all completely in tact with no tears and really neat old adds with the current news. A little extra for the trunks history. The tray does need a small repair on the front bottom where it has become separated in the center. I did get a picture of it and it is probably very easy to repair. ... moreIt has two old decals on each sie on the top that might have been added to it through the years or maybe they are original and also'460S' is printed on the bottom left. The handles on each side are leather and in extreme good condition. They have'SHWAYDER BROS. DENVER- DETROIT' imprinted on both and the handles are both very taut; not at all loose or streatched. It's like it was hardle ever picked up much with them and they are indeed original. The front handle is a heavy type of metal I think and is all in tact. The handle also has a definate'1930's style ornate-ness' to it. Very unique! The trunk It measures 30" in length, 16" width and 12" tall. Fresh from a local estate: A vintage hand-carved Chinese Camphor Wood Chest! It is a nice smallish trunk. Approx. 23.5" X 13.5" X 13.75" tall. It has A LOT of wear from age& use! Dings, scratches, rusty hinges, a piece missing out of the clasp top.it looks pretty rustic! But I like it! I think all the wear just adds to the vintage look& patina! But if the rough/shabby look is not your thing, I would say don't buy it, because it would be too much trouble to try to refinish/refurbish. It also has a couple bug holes. ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK Metal corner Eagle Lock Co.
Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. Here is some history related to the Eagle Lock Company that provided the locks for many steamer trunks. It was based in Terryville, CT. Eagle Lock was at the forefront of padlock security in its time. The main company was in Terryville. But they had opened another factory in Ohio.The factory had a manufacturing line of over 2000 different kinds of locks, a sales room was once operated on chambers street in New York City. ironically enough, the lock factory had fires very often and burning down almost all of the wooden buildings instantly, while the Collinsville. Connecticut Axe factory had never even had one fire. The factory had consisted of one main office building. And later in 1889 and 1905, extra work space was added including Two five story buildings on either side of the office. The factory had a boarding house on prospect street for Male employees, the boarding house was torn down in the early 1900s, many eagle lock workers and teachers lived here. Instruments in the 60's/ 70's. A hefty piece of equipment. Weighing in at over 100lbs. The case opens in two, one side housing all the cables, including an extremely thick master cable. The other side has the switches and terminals. The case is scratched and scuffed. One of the rheostats has become detached and broken, although the resistance wire is intact. This one is the controller for station 4, each station has 3 outputs. For your consideration is this wonderful vintage cargo trunk in excellent condition. This chest appears to have been hardly used. As it is clean. With only a few scrapes to the hardware on the outside. There is a four inch deep, lift out tray inside with two cutout handles on the end, and two tie down straps to keep your garments or cargo in place during transit. As you can see in the pictures. The inside is a green color, and also notice the clean condition with no spots, stains, holes, or dis-coloration. The outside is ruggedly built with quality hardware, oak runners top and bottom, a metal band around the outside, corner protection, and on each end is a square holder for perhaps a label, or owners information, On the front is a lock, with no key, and a sturdy, thick, brown leather handle strap. The wide steel handles on the ends are spring-loaded ... moreto keep them in place and protect them in transit. The only marks on this trunk are seen on the inside of the lid. I have not been able to find anymore from that name. You are bidding on a Gorgeous Vintage& Rare Military WWII 2 Dental Trunk Case- Large in Size. Its dimensions are approx 30" Long x10.5" Wide x17" Tall. The trunk has a metal tag on top attached that reads Rogers Madison Trunk Company- 3 Genuine Ply- Petersburg VA. The from of the box from what I can make out looks like Dental Corps- Something about Medical Department- Instrument Case No 26 and sooooo much more. Both sides say Dental on it. There are two handles on either side made of a heavy metal. There are three latches on the from of the case(1 doesn't work-middle) There are two latches on either side on the bottom of each side which open up and make the front of the box fold outward. I took many photos if this so you can see just how cool this piece really is. Its a great piece of history especially at this size. ... moreThe box has seen better days then again I was told by many people upon purchasing it that it was a WWII Dental Box and the writing on it proves that to be true. there are some splits in the outside of the box and a lot if wear. we will call that patina. The corners on top Each have a metal plate for protection. the box is made out of a sturdy wood. Not a terribly thin wood. These figurine decanters depict very realistic koalas that is hanging onto the side of the decanter/tree trunk.This lot of 6 are in great condition with only a couple of superficial scratches, please see pictures for details. The pottery is in great condition, and the corks are in place and are very stable and functional. The original owner was a non-smoker and kept these decanters in superb condition. There isn't any alcohol in the decanters.The measurements for these adorable decanters are approximately 9" x 3 1/4" They are not identical in shade, some are slightly darker. lovely little steamer trunk/vintage/sample, childs,toy/great condition
This is a very nice child's or salesman sample trunk. It measures 10" by 6" And is 5" tall. It is all metal. The hardware is brass. One handle, as shown in the pictures, is torn, but it is all there and could be easily reglued. The inside is in very good shape also. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Co. Terryville, Conn.The finish is I believe tin litho, in black and opal, with a hint of pink in it.It is in good shape, the only wear showing on the top. No key.
