The trunk has the original Jensen Trunk Factory label inside the hinged lid. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other labels on it from travel, but I am unable to make out any dates. The trunk is 12” tall, 7.5” deep, 24” long and 14.5” wide.

They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. Vintage/Antique Trunk with Oak Trim
This is a pretty durable old trunk with nice oak trim. Even on the bottom. The trunk feels like it's entirely made of a thin metal. The latches on the front work, the lock has no key and both leather handles on the sides are intact and can still be used. Vintage A Century Of Progress Hartmann Leather Suitcase-Antique Trunk Luggage
Hello! This antique Hartmann suitcase is quite a rare find. This lovely dark leather case features a patterned gold fabric inside and was most likely purchased in 1934. The tag inside reads"As exhibited by Hartmann at A Century of Progress" This model was introduced at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. Where the theme was"A Century of Progress" It featured the breakthrough technology of belt leather covering, a basswood frame, and inverted stitching. This beautiful piece of history would make a great display, perfect addition to a collection, or a wonderful authentic prop at a vintage or southern themed wedding reception. This antique case is in good condition considering its age and use. There is normal wear to the leather in the form of cracks. Scratches, etc. The wear is mostly concentrated to the corners and edges ... moreof the case. Structurally the case in wonderful shape, with no dents or damage. The hardware is in great condition and the latches work wonderfully. The inside fabric only has one small stain at the bottom, near the back(about the size of a quarter) The elastic in the ruffled pockets is in perfect shape. Those are not dew drops on the petals but water drops from being washed. We see the bark of a tree when we step back to view this stencil. Up close. The ragged edged"spots" could be abstracted florals. It's likely that this stencil is one layer of patterning. Perhaps a background color for the flowers, which would then be embellished with colors from another stencil or by hand coloring. The fabric patterned by this stencil could have become a kosode style kimono. Commonly used for casual wear. Kosode are often identified ... moreby a small repeated pattern rather than the more formal larger, asymetrical designs. But with the edged patterning resembling puzzle pieces, we can't be sure how it would have fit with other stencils! Each stencil is made from mulberry paper coated wtih persimmon juice for strength and water resistance. Each was uniquely designed and was hand cut by punch or cutting tools. This listing is for an Antique Child's Travel Trunk filled with Baby and Doll clothes. The trunk is Canvas with Leather handle. Strapping and metal buckle enclosure. It measures 14 1/2" long, 8" wide and 5 1/2" tall. It has obviously been well used which is understandable if it was a child's toy. It has some condition issues that I have tried to show in the photos. There are two pair of baby shoes, one crocheted and is 3 1/2" long and one vinyl( that has a size"2" and"Made in USA" on the bottom and is 4 1/2" long. There are 6 pair of doll shoes, 5 appear to be leather, some quite stiff. There is one odd shoe. Two of the pair are ballet slippers, one is satin. The smallest is 1 3/4" long and the longest is3" 3 pair have snaps and 3 have ribbon ties(one is missing a ribbon) There ... moreare two tiny purses made of cloth with gold metal clasps and chains and satin lining. They are 2 3/8" from the top of the clasp to the bottom. There are two tiny fans made of cloth and stamped"Made in Spain" They are 4 1/4" tall and 7 1/4" wide when opened. The doll clothes include several dresses, bibs, a lace hat and camisole, etc. all sizes. The baby clothes include a set of pantaloons with top, a bubble suit, top and diaper and an embroidered dress, matching slip and bonnet. I may have mixed the doll clothes and the baby clothes as it is hard to tell with some of them. Some are stained, none have been cleaned as I don't dare try. There is quite a variety of dresses, pantaloons, bibs,bonnets etc. some quite lovely and in good condition, some quite worn. I have tried to get everything in the photos. Measures approximately 4 5/8 inches tall, a bit over 5 inches from the back edge to the outer edge of the trunk, and 2 1/2 inches across the top opening. Good condition, no chips or cracks. Shows some spots of crazing, and some scuffs and scratches in the finish all around. Several small bumps in the surface from the manufacturing process, nothing major. Silk lining has no rips or tears, does have some spots and soil inside. Mid century table décor from an estate sale is a tree with wire trunk and branches with hanging leaves. Appears to be brass but with a gold tone. Base feels like plaster. Y ou are bidding on an original made in Paris Louis Vuitton travel trunk. This trunk was purchased new by my father on his travels while working as a correspondent for the US in Paris. It has been in my family ever since. Did you know- Louis Vuitton. The original luxury goods designer, has been in business as a luggage manufacturer since 1854. Prior to making his first trunk Louis had made his name as a dress-packer, packing the clothes of the wealthy into their trunks for their voyages, so he knew his way around the interior of a trunk. His first trunk was not of the type we know today, nor was it covered in the fabric we know today. The first trunk was domed style and covered in a grey canvas, called Gris-Trianon. Later Louis was to create a trunk with a flat top that revolutionized the trunk industry as it allowed them to now be stacked. ... moreHe also invented the lock in use today on Vuitton trunks. Which is virtually pick proof, and afforded unlimited variable combinations. He quickly moved from the grey canvas, to a striped fabric(1873) then to a checkerboard(1889) or Damier, covering in order to stay ahead of the counterfeiters, yes, you heard me correctly, Vuitton has been copied since the beginning, and he did everything he could to prevent it, including copyrighting the Damier fabric, which contains the trademark as part of the design. This trunk is unique is that it has all it's original stamped tin and it also has 4 metal roller wheels on the bottom. The trunk obviously has some issues- there is rust present and some of the wood has come loose. The trunk is missing both of it's side handles and it does not latch properly as well. We believe the insert in the top is probably not original- if it is. It has been modified with the addition of adhesive paper. There is also a moldy smell inside the trunk. These flaws account for the highly discounted price, making this piece a great bargain for one who is interested in fixing it up! Built to withstand long voyages and hard travel. This vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk served as a portable closet for its owner, Mrs. Charles A. Trowbridge. Measuring 36" tall, 21" wide, and 12 1/2" deep, it has a tag which reads"Genuine Vulcanized Trunk Fibre Binding made by Taylor Fibre Co" The left compartment has 4 original hangers, the original matching presser bar, and a cloth snap closure for shoes. The right compartment has two lift out nesting drawers with original working leather tabs and sturdy handles. This Wardrobe Trunk has all of its original beautiful brass latches. Fittings, nail heads, and center lock with a working key. Sailing on the Holland-America Cruise Line. It has a wonderful vintage decal from that adventure. Circa 1950's. Vintage 1800's Camelback Steamer Trunk
Up for sale is a Vintage 1800's Camel back/Humpback Steamer Trunk. Trunk needs restored. But to find a trunk in this condition is better than finding one that has been painted or modified. Trunk is constructed of metal, wood, and leather, most of the leather being gone noe though. Comes with original key, which is nice to still have. Nice original prints on inside of trunk, with flip down storage compartment on underside of lid. One hinge on right side of trunk lid. Closer latches on front are stamped Pat. Jul. 9-72. Nice hardware, most of which is still intact, minus the strap handles on sides. Would be a beautiful piece if restored the correct way. I can ship item by freight, but would be very expensive. Vintage 1920s-1940s ? Alligator/Crocodile ? Leather Travel Trunk
This is definitely a vintage trunk. I'm not sure what vintage. The lady I'm selling it for swears it is genuine alligator leather. It is definely leather but I don't know a enough about it to be sure. It does seem like the leather is in very good condition for its age. It is buit to hold specially made wooden hangers. It is lined with what appears to be a very fine but rugged fabric. It appears to have had a couple more divider slats in the bottom. Someone could even add doors over the individual sections. I have included a close up of one hing that shows some corrosion. All hinges and latches work well. I do not have a key however.

Vintage steamer/military foot locker trunk- Samson
You are viewing a vintage. Steam/military, foot locker trunk. It is in a military olive green color and has brass clamp over latches on the front with a locking center latch. The latch will close but is loose and I have no key. There is a leather handle underneath the center latch.It has metal side handles and is trimmed around all of the edges with metal attached by metal brads. The metal trim is in black with the corners in a brass. There is patina around the brass latches and the corners. The trunk is a painted wood and has 3 ornate hinges on the back top lid. There is a double compartment wood insert that sits on the inside wood corners and the bottom and top inside has a paper lining but the lining has aged and some has flaked off. There are no cracks in the bottom or the insert. There is a bubbled wood area on the front right side about ... more10" long and about an1" to 2" wide. Slight scruffing is on the bottom from use. There is also a manufacture sticker above the front latch that reads SAMSON- Shwayder Bros. Inc. Denver- Detroit. I think this trunk is from the 1930s-40s and was used as a military trunk possibly although there are no military insigna located on it anywhere. But the side handles being metal and the military olive green is consistant with military items. I know that Shwayder Bros. operated in the 1930s-1939 and Samson later became Samsonite in 1965. The trunk measures 16"x12 1/4" x 30" It weighs approximately 21 lbs. It is a nice old trunk and would look great if just cleaned up and even better if restored. if you have any questions please contact me.
