This is an antique steamer trunk. Used for transportation of personal items while traveling by train or the like. The production date is estimated to be pre-1900. You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. However the key is missing. Some of the leather straps are missing as well but can be replaced for a reasonable price. This would be perfect for use in your entryway. Or for a coffee table or end table. Vintage Steamer Trunk with Railroad Tag From 1948 With Key
You are viewing a vintage steamer trunk. You may have viewed many trunks before but how many have US Customs and Railway Express tags dated 1948, its amazing that a paper tag can remain attached and legible for 65 years. To top that off it still has a key for the lock, its a really neat trunk. The hinges and latches are in great shape, the lock has a spring inside that is coming apart so Im nervous to try to lock it. The inside paper lining is dirty and fragile so I dont want to clean it. The handles are both there and are in good shape. If there are any questions please feel free to ask. I am going to set the shipping at $60 but if its less I will refund the difference, I sold a trunk last week that I refunded $20, the amount of cost is on the shipping tag so youll be able to verify. We have for sale a Vintage Antique Mendel Drucker Trunx Victorian Travel/Steamer Trunk Cincinnati No. 184293. This trunk is beautiful. It was purchased at an estate sale. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. As you can see from the many photos that I took this trunk is in beautiful condition. There are some scratches and rubs but nothing is broken, or torn. All the hinges work great. This is a very old steamer trunk that measures 34" wide x 19" deep x 18" high. It is a caramel brown color very true to placard picture. The metal placard reads Reisearlikel-Fabrik Gebr. Locher Zurich. The top has stenciled letters FRAGILE A.D. NEW YORK. It has solid brass hardware with patina on the escucheon. There are 2 wooden bent straps around the middle and the edge reinforcements seem to be made of leather. A blue and white nautical flag is on the front and sides. It weighs about 45 lbs.

Alligator Embossed Steamer Trunk 1890-1910 This is a versatile and attractive trunk from the turn of the century. A solidly constructed steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed alligator tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 34 inches wide, 19 inches front to back, and 22.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with hardwood slats across the top and two slats on the front and back. It has new thick black leather handles and a new lid stay– otherwise in original condition. The alligator pattern has been refinished in a rich. Reddish brown that is darker than it may appear in the flash photos. Although there is no evidence of its manufacturer. It was purchased for restoration in Maine, and its design and appointments mirror those of trunks produced in the Northeast between ... more1890 and the early 1900s. The bottom has been cleaned. Painted, and sealed with polyurethane so it safely sits on floors or carpets. The trunk is solid and clean and has absolutely no stale or musty odors. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed, yet opens easily. Although there is no key, and the lock does not work, the latches operate correctly. The inside has been cleaned. Sanded, and finished with golden oak stain and tung oil so it’s ready for use as storage or display. In addition to new leather handles. This vintage case/trunk is in good to fair condition with some wear and scratches in the inside as well as some on the outside. It would great base for a coffeee table(put a glass top on it) or in the bedroom as storage. Just take some wax and buff this baby back to shining glory! A strong. This steamer trunk is from an Estate sale. It's from the 1940's. Is Black metal and Brass and is just beautiful! Locking hasp works. Keys included. Name on hasp is"Eagle Lock Co" made in USA" Terryville. Conn" 8446-2" Dimensions; 36.5" wide/ 22.5" front to back/ 23.5" high. Brass and Black metal covered wood. 2 original metal casters. 2 replaced rubber casters. A few small dents on the left- front brass. Pieces of one original leather handle remain. The other handle has been temporarily replaced by plastic covered wire. This item is located in East Meadow. New York for free local pick up but can be shipped by carrier if requested. Vintage Steamer Trunk FLEUR DE LIS Shabby Chic French Art Table Trunk REFINISHED
Gorgeous Fleur De Lis Trunk. Excellent Trunk to use as a coffee Table. End table, or as a blanket chest, under a window, or at the end of a bed! French inspired. The fleur de lis is painted and outlined with brass daisy oxford tacks. The entire top of the trunk is also outlined with the tacks. And the sides is accented with tacks. The tacks not only make the trunk more appealing. But also re-inforced it's strength as well! Although this is a medium size trunk(30in long x 16.5in and 14.5in tall) it is one of the well made and sturdiest trunks I have come across. When strpping the paper from the inside the wood underneath was stamped with a logo. Inside a diamond shape it said'the model brand' and also a co name, but all that could be read still was.ada bros. brodway' the rest of the name and address couldn't be made out, ... morevery unusual however, especially under the paper! The trunk has been placed upon wooden legs. This was done before I recieved the trunk, thought it was unique and the legs were well put on, so I left them as they were. The legs are screwed on from the inside so they are in no danger of coming off. Also if you are interested in using as a table, this makes the trunk even more like a table. A clear piece could be placed on top of the trunk. But also the trunk could be used as is for a table, as any roughing to the top would add the the shabby chicness, also the trunk has been clear coated. Very excellent condition other than normal issues due to age. The locking mechanism of trunk was removed somewhere slong it's journey. The latches are in good working condition. The strap in the front is missing. Could be replaced if desired. The hinge inside is still present. The inside has been re-lined with very very good high quality material from hancock fabrics. Two coordinating material were used. The materials were picked to compliment the outside of the trunk. Great French art inspired One Of a Kind Original Trunk! You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's or a Cruise Ship in the 1950s. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. However the key is missing. Some of the leather straps are missing as well but can be replaced for a reasonable price. This would be perfect for use in your entryway. Antique Shwayder Bros. Samson Steamer Trunk with it's original inside tray. This trunk is estimated to be from the 1930's and is in very. Very good condition. Shwayder Trunk Co. originated in 1910 and the name was changed to Shwayder Bros. Inc. Samson in 1939. In 1965 the named changed to Samsonite. The trunk has it's original tray and they are both lined in it's original patterned paper. These trunks are hard to find with their original trays and also it has old newspaper from 1957 laying flat inside both the tray and the trunk; the paper all completely in tact with no tears and really neat old adds with the current news. A little extra for the trunks history. The tray does need a small repair on the front bottom where it has become separated in the center. The handles on each side are leather and in extreme good condition. They have'SHWAYDER BROS. DENVER- DETROIT' imprinted on both and the handles are both very taut; not at all loose or streatched. It's like it was hardle ever picked up much with them and they are indeed original. The front handle is a heavy type of metal I think and is all in tact. The handle also has a definate'1930's style ornate-ness' to it. Very unique! The trunk It measures 30" in length, 16" width and 12" tall. Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. Here is some history related to the Eagle Lock Company that provided the locks for many steamer trunks. This is a very nice child's or salesman sample trunk. It measures 10" by 6" And is 5" tall. It is all metal. The hardware is brass. One handle, as shown in the pictures, is torn, but it is all there and could be easily reglued. The inside is in very good shape also. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Co. Terryville, Conn.The finish is I believe tin litho, in black and opal, with a hint of pink in it.It is in good shape, the only wear showing on the top. No key. This item is a very nice rare vintage wooden flattop steamer half trunk. It measures 24" x 18" x 20. Trunk companies made these small trunks as samples to display the workmanship and the hardware that could be used on the larger trunks. These are very rare. We have been restoring trunks for 17 years and this is only the 4th one we have seen. It does have some small cracks on the top. It has the new leather handles. The latches are in good working order which close securely. It has very heavy hardware with 3 hinges across the back. VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK - CIRCA 1920'S - 1930'S - WONDEROBE SEWARD
This is a upright Steamer Trunk by"Seward Trunk and Bag Company" The plaque says"Wonderrobe" Estimated that it was made during the 1920"s or 1930's. The original trunk color was olive green but has changed over the years to a soft brown. It has all of its accessories including the hat form that snaps in and out to hold a fashion hat in place which was a bonus during it's day. There are six hanging racks. Two for dresses. Two for coats and two for slacks. They are held in place by a stabilizer bar. The bottom of the left side of the trunk has a pop out drawer. The top drawer is sectioned and has the lock but no key. The top of the trunk lifts to allow easy access to the racks. See photo#5. Two of the drawers have the tie down straps to hold clothing in place. The lock is missing as well as the leather handle. ... moreAll of the metal(brass? edges are in excellent shape. No dents. No missing bullets and it has all of its corner pieces. Most of these trunks are missing the leather handle but I do have the handle which is not attached. All of the hardware is in good condition not rusted or broken. The main lock is missing. The only damage is to the top which is cracked mostly on the edge which lifts up. see photo#8) The fabric on the drawers shows some wear but just to the right edges. See photo#1. For your information I received this trunk from the woman we bought our first house from 38 years ago. She told us that her husband traveled across the ocean with all his belongings in this trunk. He came over to the US to marry her. They lived in the house for about 50 years so this trunk is at least 88 years old with a history. VINTAGE OSHKOSH SUITCASE Fresh from an upstate New York estate to you comes this gorgeous vintage Oshkosh trunk/ suitcase with tray and straps. Aside from a few very minor scratches. This case is in incredible condition. It looks as if it has never traveled, especially the interior, see the pics of this spotless case. From the brass corners to the leather edging to the brass closures, this case is beautiful. The only variance from original is the lock mechanism was removed, but it's in with the keys and can be reattached by any luggage shop. It measures 28 x 17 x 9 inches and weighs 16 pounds.
