As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. Antique Louis Vuitton Damier Steamer Trunk 100% Authentic Made in or around mid 1890's Dimensions: 44" Long x 23" tall x 22-1/2" deep(approx) Condition is very good for a 125 year old item but it is not perfect. It is lovely as is but if you want to restore it would be good to do that with. It thas the original interior tag w/ s/n. I believe it was made between 1893 and 1898. It is missing two original hardware pieces. The center lock and latch. One of the carrying handles was replaced All other hardware is original.It has all four rollers on bottom. You can see the condition in pictures. All the hardware pieces can be found to purchase online if you desire. The inside has a musty odor but there are ways to rid the trunk of this problem. Vintage Military Officer's Footlocker/Steamer Trunk
This is a wonderful old steamer trunk/footlocker. I found it at an estate sale where there was a bunch of WWII memorabilia. However, the sale was run by an outside agent who knew little about the items so I was not able to learn much about the age or history of this item. It would make a nice coffee table with lots of storage room inside. It measures 31" X 16" X 13" and is constructed of wood and wrapped in thin. Dark green painted metal with brass-tone hardware/corner guards. From what information I have been able to gather, the date and manufacturer information are beneath the printed paper lining the inside of the trunk but I will not pull it up to check as it is original to the trunk. This item is used. The exterior has a nice patina of travel scuffs. Scratches and light dings but is still a sturdy piece with no structural ... moreissues. Both leather strap handles are intact and in good condition(all of the ones I found online were missing one, if not both, of the strap handles.The two outer latches work properly and keep the lid secure. Some of the hardware have rust spots. The interior paper has become brittle and is peeling in a few spots and there are some light stains here and there. There does appear to be some corrosion stains where the paper touches/touched the metal detailing. As for the lock, I do not know if it works. I do not have a key so I don't want to chance having to break the lock. I have more detailed pictures. If you would like to see them send me a message. We believe this is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but are unsure of the actual age. There is some very nice ornate designs on the riveted corners and the black metal on the tops and sides. There is some damaged wood and some damage to the metal on one corner, also some rust on the back hinges. The inside has some cracking in the wood but is still in good shape. These 3 marble white faux leather on wood Samsonite Streamlite suitcases and trunk are in great shape from the 1950's and 1960’s! RARE TRUNK! These trunks are very hard to find. THrough research I have found that a lot of these were just made for display and very few were made. The largest trunk measures roughly 30L" x 16W" x 12.5H” The carry-on/wardrobe measures roughly 21L" x 9W" x 19H” The smaller train/make-up case measures close to 13L" x 8.5W" x 9H" You can see from the pics the color of the exterior and interiors as well as the various pouches and straps. These are all Samsonite and there is a key for the entire set. These cases could be used for a number of things besides luggage. A very popular use is for camera equipment or speciality tools. By installing foam packaging and cutting it to fit ... moreyour camera or tools is a stylish and less expensive way to protect and transport. These type of cases can also be used for decor such as end tables. Shipping includes insurance and a delivery confirmation. Delivery confirmation is not a tracking number. It is there to prove delivery. I usually ship suitcases by wrapping in shipping paper and taping. This cuts costs by not using boxes. These cases are sold as is. I will do my best to describe them as well as any imperfections and wear. These cases all have minor scuffs and wear on the inside and the outside. These are vintage and used so there will be minor stains and odors that come along with any old item. It is common for the fabric on the inside to come away from the outside hard shell due to time and heat breaking down the adhesive. Some cases can fit inside each other as some can't. I will vacuum the interiors but will leave deep cleaning up to you. I leave the exterior as is for the most part due to people wanting them a little scuffed and dirty for the authentic vintage look. This is a fantastic vintage cedar-lined brass trunk with wooden feet. It stands 18" high. Measurements of the trunk without feet are 30.5" x 16" x 16" The lock is no longer operational and stays closed with a magnet for convenience of use. It is heavy. Strong, sturdy and very usable. This is in used-vintage condition. The brass shows wear and use with scratches and tiny dings. Mostly concentrated on the top. Measuring 29" long, 17 1/2" wide, and 12" deep, it has beautiful maple banding around the entire exterior with metal fittings for added protection. This French Cabin Trunk features 3 original sturdy leather handles, one on either of the 2 sides and one in front. The original metal latches have a wonderful aged patina. Circa 1940's. The humidity from key west has lent itself to corroding the nails that hold the interior fabric and have bled into the fabric as well. This vintage steamer trunk is made of wood and has steel reinforced edges. It has brass plated hardware. The leather handles on the sides are gone. The inside is covered in a blue floral design paper as is the wooden insert. This trunk does not have any cracks or splits. It is 17 3/4" long, 10 1/2" wide and 10 3/4" tall. Antique Hartman steamer trunk w/ original lock and key, coffee table, vintage
For your consideration a beautiful antique steamer trunk from the turn of the century manufactured by Hartman of Racine Wisconsin. This trunk features its original locka with original key both function flawlessly. The trunk retains all of it original hinges buckles and both leather handles which are all in excellent condition. The trunk also retains the original Hartmann and Gibrlatorized logos which are also in excellent vintage condition and can be read easily. The inside of this trunk is in as nice of shape as the outside showing one small tear in the material on the top side of the trunk. Easy fix. The inside is lined in a silk type of material. The trunk is missing the inside shelf to divide it top to bottom. The exterior condition shows very minor scuffs, no dents it has a couple of paint dots on it here and there very non distracting ... moreand it adds character to the piece. This would work perfectly as a coffee table or storage at the end of the bed for blankets and pillows. This is truelly a fantastic conversation piece and is in excellent vintage condition. You don't often find them pretty well intact with the original key and lock. There are no pry marks across the top edge either as it has its original key. The measures ments of the trunk are 36 inches side to side, 23 inches deep and 25 inches top to bottom. No reserve auction, high bidder wins! I will ship this trunk via Greyhound package express to the closest Greyhound terminal of the winning bidder where it will have to be picked up. They will hold the piece for two days for free. "Everwear" vintage wardrobe steamer trunk Nice
I have a very nice vintage steamer trunk wardrobe. This has been used so there are a few things that would need fixed if it were ti be made perfect. I tried to take as many pics as possible to show you the trunk. It is beautiful and will make a great addition to your home or collection. I cannot locate keys. The handle is missing on the bottom and is attached to just one side in top. The other side will pull out and is not attached. Some minor water damage but nothing that destroys the integrity or durability. The bottom of trunk shows some wear from travel. Dark green and black with name in white lettering. Up for sale is this beautiful restored large antique victorian roll top steamer trunk with key. It measures 35" long by 22 1/4" wide and 25" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained with minwax"cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane(light sand in between coats) The interior lining has been removed and the wood was sanded then stained. The trunk shows obvious aesthetic signs of age but these details give it the perfect patina and look. The structure of this trunk is solid and it is functional as a coffee table, blanket chest, etc. A great piece with tons of character that will be the focal point of any room. ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK CHEST VINTAGE RESTORED SMALL SIZE ALLIGATOR C.1872-1900
Alligator Embossed Steamer Trunk 1872-1900 This slightly domed trunk with simulated alligator“hide” dates from 1872 to 1900 based on its patent dates and appointments. It is constructed of pine box framing with horizontal hardwood slats. The decorative tin is embossed with an alligator pattern and the trunk is secured with steel. Tin and brass hardware. Although its exact age is undetermined. The trunk’s hasp hardware shows a patent date of July 9, 72. Therefore, it’s fair to estimate from its overall construction and appointments that this steamer probably was manufactured between 1872 and 1900. A unique feature of this trunk is that the two front hasps have small levers that allow the lid to be secured in the closed position. The lock tongue is missing, and was not replaced in the restoration, but the lock plate when cleaned revealed brilliant ... morebrass details. This trunk is lightweight and measures 24 inches long. 14 inches wide, and 15 inches high at its crown. In the refinishing. The plain paper that lined the interior and lid was removed and the inside was cleaned, sanded and finished with two coats of clear satin polyurethane to preserve the natural color of the pine. A new floor of cedar was installed and a new tray was built and stained Early American. The exterior was refinished by sanding and wire brushing the tin. Then treating it with rust inhibitor and painted with Rustoleum Satin Black. The hardwood slats were cleaned, sanded, and finished with tung oil, with steel wool between coats to enhance the finish. The embossed“alligator” tin was cleaned and wiped with Minwax Dark Walnut stain to restore its original finish. It was then sealed with tung oil to create its natural look. SUPER Steamer trunk in very good condition- still very usable for travel. In other words the drawers are in great shape and the hangers are all present(three types! were never used. Very dark rich green exterior with lovely brass fittings. Nice light blue interior with shoe storage and four locking drawers. Keys included. For outside lock and drawer lock. Big Vintage Doll Steamer Type Trunk with Key Lock ~ Very good condition!
I am liquidating an estate and there are many dolls coming up for sale. Check all my auctions as I'm happy to combine shipping. Here is a very old vintage doll trunk; made just like Mom's! Big size ~ 18" tall. Almost 11" across, and 9" deep. This trunk opens up so you can hang the clothes and put accessories in both the top bin(can open that all the way up too ~ see pics) and the bottom drawer. There are great travel stickers all over this trunk like Swooping across the Atlantic on the SS Col. Lindbergh; Down the Nile to Silent Father of Mystery S. S. Alexandria and many more. All the necessary items are in place on this trunk such as the top handle to carry it with. The inside drawers even have their knobs, the key is tied to the outside, the metal hanging rod is in place, All decorative metal corners are in place, ... moreetc. There are some age conditions such as some of the paper being worn on the trunk, the bottom drawer has some tape on it and there is some minor staining throughout as you would expect for a piece from the early 1900's. I don't know who made the trunk. It appears there is something on the latch. But I can't read it. Look at all the photos and ask any and all questions before you buy it. VINTAGE MONOGRAM LOUIS VUITTON ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK WITH INSERTS
This antique Louis Vuitton steamer trunk most likely dates to the turn of the 20th century. I would guess the early 1900s based on my research. I do have an inquiry placed with Louis Vuitton to try to determine exact purchase date and price, which they say they may be able to supply me with. This trunk has some old water damage, as shown in photos, but is in very good condition overall considering. The original insert is here and the trunk opens and closes as it should. The trunk is clearly marked LV in many areas and has the original canvas strap, which is also clearly marked. The trunk is marked with a large, red H. Set of 6 wooden hangers from an antique wardrobe trunk from the early 1900's. They are in need of some TLC. But will be great for anyone restoring an old trunk! The first picture shows the whole lot. The others include close ups of the wood hangers. Showing their condition. They all measure around 18" wide& 8" top to bottom. Some of them have a little damage on each side as shown it the photos. They came from my old antique steamer trunk that I don't have anymore. I forgot the maker of the trunk. But it was marked made in 1913. Check out the photos& ask any questions. Vintage Steamer Trunk - Complete All Original Metal, Leather and Liner
Vintage steamer trunk/suitcase. Leather handle and brass closures. No key and a little rust. Measures 28" long. 15.5" wide and 10" high. All metal dark green outside with black metal and brass trim. Paper lined wood inside. Has a removable shelf. Some of the paper is getting old and brittle, some missing along edges. Mostly there and in good condition. Clean but has an old odor in it. A couple dryer sheets should take care of that. A couple small dents on outside hardly noticeable. Heavy of course, 21 lbs. without packaging. Great decorator piece. Check out my! This is old but I do not know antiques well enough to date this. This has the drawers and wooden hangers on the inside. The locking latch on the outside is NOT working. This shows some wear on the outside but over all is in good condition. I have no way to ship this.
