This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. Measuring 36ins(92cms) wide x 20ins(51cms) deep x 14ins(35cms) high, it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective bands on the edges and corners and twin catches at the front, with a central lock and clasp, and a carrying handle at either end. It is finished in a blue colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well and there is the original key for the central lock. I nternally it has the original lining paper and is very clean and dry. It has the name RUTHVEN. In black, on the top. It is in good condition and has few signs of use as one might imagine. There are a few minor scuffs. Vintage 60's TIKI GOD Barkcloth HAWIIAN Shirt, ROCKABILLY Elvis Style, 25" Chest
Very colorful. Very attractive vintage shirt from the classic 1950's ~ 1960's era, when Elvis made this type of shirt popular. It has no visible stitching in the collar, a perfect matching pocket, reinforced seams, selvage on the fabric inside, and"Aloha, Hawaii" metal buttons which were typical of the era. The print is of the"border" type. With shells, flowers and Tiki Gods running vertically along the front and the back of the shirt. The Tiki Gods, in particular, are very interesting as there are three different ones with slightly different face expressions, check them out below. The manufacturer was Made in Hawaii. And this aloha shirt was, of course, made in Hawaii. The shirt has no size label. Oneida Silverware Chest This auction is for a vintage Silverware Storage Chest. Approximately 16"x12"x7" The lining is a pink/red color and has been Kenized(a chemical treatment of cotton flannel to keep silverware from tarnishing) The lining is in good condition just a little spot cleaning. This is made of solid wood and has dovetail joints. The wood needs polishing. Which will make it beautiful. There is a drawer at the bottom.
