Antique Victorian 1800's Chest Dome Top Steamer Trunk Wood/Tin
This beautiful medium sized Dome Top antique trunk. Is in Good condition, with only minor flaws. It measures 18"H x 26 1/2" L x 14" W. The exterior is stunning. Covered beautifully in a black colored tin. With oak slats, accented with black tin hardware, and a nice brass design, that is very desirable amongst collectors. Both side leather straps are in original condition. All of the hardware is original and no longer fasten. There is no key. The inside is beautiful original wood. With steel nail heads showing(see photo) The tray is in nice condition although the lids need to be reattached. See pictures. There are rollers under this beauty, that work well, and look great. Found this unusual. Beautiful and untouched Leather, Iron and Wooden Victorian Era Dome Style Steamer Trunk at a local sale. A huge trunk measuring 36" wide. 30" tall and 23" deep. Decorated with hand applied tacked leather all around, ornate iron and wood, this trunk was made for folks who traveled far and for many weeks or months at a time. A TRIPLE LOCK system is evident on the front, designed to keep their worldly possessions safe. On each side of the trunk there are remnants of labels that provide a visual history of the famous places that this trunk traveled to. There is a label for a hotel in Paris. A label for a baggage cabin on a Cunard Line steam ship, and most interesting.a label for the St. James Hotel in Jacksonville Florida. The hotel was a popular destination for the wealthy in the 1870's and 1880's and ... moreburned in the Great Fire of 1901.never to be rebuilt. The interior of the trunk is in nice untouched shape for it's age. Inside the lid is a drop down drawer with its original leather and tin clasp for holding it in position. When opened. The inner drawer folds out. Clean and undamaged. The original fabric tray in the lower part of the trunk is there.the wooden frame of the tray is in very good condition, the fabric that acts as the bottom of the tray needs repair. antique victorian decoupage steamer trunk
Selling a rare Victorian decoupage steamer trunk. This is a very unique piece and I have never seen another one like it. The trunk is pretty large piece measuring 40 X 23 X 22. I use it as a coffee table and have had a special piece of glass made for the top. the roller wheels are still functioning and the only defects is one missing closure clasp and the other one comes off easily. I would prefer local pickup but we could work out freight too if interested. Thank you!

Vintage Pleasant Company Samantha's elegant Victorian STEAMER TRUNK with three heart-shaped HANGERS in Very Good Used Condition. This trunk dates from a late 1980's- early 1990's Samantha collection and is in beautiful condition for it's age. The brass plated hardware does have some very slight tarnishing from normal handling(see photos) The gray Cordura covering is in very good shape with a few very light scratches(see photos 9& 10 for examples) The inside paper is in great condition- no major marks and the glue is holding up well. The inner drawers are all in good shape but the shelves do slide out a bit when the drawers are pulled open. They could be glued into place to prevent them from moving. The ribbon is in good condition. The only issue that will need some TLC attention is the hanging bar has become unattached ... morefrom the ceiling of the trunk. It looks like it was originally glued and stapled. But the glue broke free with age. There is no damage to the area where it became unattached, so should be an easy fix with the proper adhesive. Antique Victorian Child's Dome Top Steamer Trunk Embossed Metal Hardwood Trim
A pretty antique Victorian style hump back steamer trunk that's in good sound condition. We believe it was used by a child based on the size( 24" long X 15" wide X 17" high at the center) It has curved hardwood slats across the top and hardwood slats across the front, sides and back, there are lots of brass tacks holding the wood in place and the wood has a rich warm patina. The body of the trunk is covered with embossed tin and plain black metal. The leather handles are missing but these are inexpensive and can be purchased any of the trunk restoration sites on-line as well as right here on EBAY. It has two clasps on the front to hold it closed and there's a lock but no key, we are not certain that the lock works so it will arrive open. Two sturdy hinges on the back hold the lid securely in place and the lid fits nice ... moreand snug. The inside is nice and dry and there are the remnants of the old paper that it was lined with here and there. Most folks like to sand down the interior and apply a sealant which eliminates any lingering musty odors, another option is to line it with cedar. The bottom of the trunk is metal covered with three wood runners that have done a fantastic job of protecting the bottom. Near each corner on the bottom is a small metal wheel that makes the trunk easier to move around on any hard flat surface. These antique trunks are not often found in such nice condition, there is very little surface rust and and absolutely no rust through on the metal. A great place to store extra blankets, seasonal clothing, toys, hats& mittens, a display piece for an antique doll collection or antique toys. I once sold a trunk to a grandmother who purchased it to send her grandson off to college!

Antique VICTORIAN STAGE COACH STEAMER HALF TRUNK WITH TRAY All Original Small Wonderful ca. 1880 half size steamer or stage coach trunk with tray. It measures approximately 25” wide. 19” deep and 20-3/4” high. There are no marks identifying a maker. One end has black painted initials“H.R. The lock maker is identified on the lock as“Yale& Towne Mfg. Co. Stanford, Conn. U.S.A. and carries their logo. There is no key included. It is being sold as found and untouched. The canvas cloth covering shows typical wear from use but overall in good shape. There are no cracks to any of the wood strips. All of the hardware is present and in good shape. The leather handles are both present and in decent shape. The lid holding bracket is present but not secured in position. This is a beautiful Original 1877 Victorian Dome Lid Steamer trunk. It was refurbished at some point, It came from a very well cared for estate. it measures about 34" Long, 19" Wide, and 25" Tall, I don't have the key, the lock says 1877 as shown, it is missing 1 caster on the bottom, it does show some slight staining as shown on the front, not really noticeable, this is over 130 years old, a very nice piece. The bottom looks to be in beautiful condition as well. Welcome to my ebay store! this awesome piece came from an estate sale of an elderly local antiques collector. I purchase most of her dolls and doll items. This is an awesome unusual definitely unique steamer trunk most likely for a girl to keep her doll clothes in. There is an upper wood tray covered in paper that sits on an inner ledge. The inside of lid is lined with a nice royal blue paper. It definitely has a bit of that musty antique smell that says this piece is old. The Lock has the words Eagle Lock Terryville CT which definitely shows the age and quality of the piece and US made. The trunk is made from wood. With metal strapping, nice metal corner hardware and worn leather straps. The trimming is in Faux grained metal in shades of red and yellow. I haven't seen a trunk like this one online or on ebay. The bottom is missing a wheel, but trunk is not wobbly. The side leather handles are missing. The trunk measures 34 1/2" height, 24" Long, 18 1/2" Width. An old original fab steamer chest with lots of metal banding and end cap brackets. It is a original steamer chest from circa 1900's and would have been used on the ships of old Metal handles at each side. Front locks and clasps there is no longer any key for the middle lock long gone. Four hardwood slats on top with one at the front and back also. It is approx. half the height of the standard ones. So would be great for any room in the house to make a great look and not take up to much space. The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. The wooden slats could use some polish. Overall the condition of the exterior is above average compared to the majority of unrestored trunks like this one. No key for the trunk. And the lid half of the latch doesn't have the part that would attach to the bottom part where you put the key. Inside. The ribbon like support string that holds the trunk upright when open is detached on one end, there is a panel type door missing from the lid, there is a tear to another lid panel, and there is a panel type door missing from the till and the one that is still attached to the lid is loose at the paper hinge. A Ladycomet Refinished Flat Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Key&Tray
Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key and Original Multi Divided Tray Here is a great refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. We are calling it a flat top although there is a very slight factory arch. These are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This beautiful trunk is made up of poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it and give it a nice appearance. The wood is in pretty good condition although there are some typicl distress marks or character marks. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. Just about all of ... morethe trunks that we refinish have some of these older distress marks. This one comes with the original working lock. We did find a key that will activate the lock mechanism. The front latches are original and work ok since the springs are intact. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. They are sturdy. The metal parts on this trunk are not brass. If they were, we would have semi polished them. Very seldom do you come across an American made trunk that has all brass hardware. The metal parts on this trunk have been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. This lovely trunk would make a great gift for a loved one on any special occasion. The new owner could store their personal belongings and collectibles inside the trunk and later in life pass it down to the future generations. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining since it was worn out looking. We then have given the interior wood two coats of polyurethane. This trunk come with the original multi divided tray that rests at the top edge. Store items in this tray, then lift it up and put more items deep inside the trunk. Well-cared for, large antique Victorian steamer trunk from the late 1800s.The chest has a domed top, typical of this time period, and has wood and metal construction. It features ornate iron hardware and trim. And leather side handles. Side Leather handles are intact. This wonderful trunk has not been refurbished and is in good condition overall. None of the veneer is missing. The interior’s“restored decopage” illustrated paper lining) has a decorative floral pattern through-out. The interior lining is in restored condition. It is quite lovely with only a tiny 1 inch repairable tear in the decorative paper lining. There are n ice embossed designs on the tin work on sides. Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk Embossed Tin Covered Floral Pattern Victorian
A sweet Victorian style antique steamer trunk from approximately the late 1800's. It measures 28" long X 17" wide x 22' high(at the highest point in the center of the lid) It's covered with a dark red/ dark rust colored floral patterned embossed tin and the tin is in very nice condition. It has a dome top with hardwood slats that are held in place with brass tacks. It has the remnants of a chromolithograph on the inside of the lid featuring a child holding a kitten but it's in poor condition. The trunk used to be lined with paper but most of it has worn off over the years. The bottom of the trunk has 3 plain hardwood slats running across the bottom over black tin and there are 4 small wheels(one on each corner) that make it easy to move around on any flat hard surface. The trunk is nice in dry inside and there are ... moreno moth ball odors. Just a dry dusty odor that reminds me of the attic in my grandmother's home many many years ago. The black banding on the lid sides needs repair and the hasps on the front do not close tightly because the lid does not fit properly. The leather handles need to be replaced and the original wood tray is missing. The locking mechanism in the center is very plain and it appears to be damaged. Please view all of the photos, they are an important part of the description. This decorative old trunk could be a worthy restoration project which will allow you to add additional storage to you home. There are several sites on-line that offer free advise on how to restore antique trunks and the majority of them sell the parts you'll need. Leather handles, etc. can be purchased inexpensively at these same sites and I believe they are also available here on Ebay. But I think it is just gorgeous in its original state. Some of the veneer is missing in places as shown in my pictures. The original trays are all inside and have beautiful graphics on them. Also on the top of the trunk, there are some designs in the veneer, I show this in the last picture that ... moreis a close up. There is also a striped design that runs down the front of the trunk. The Hardware is all orginal& very ornate. However there is no key. I have taken pictures of each side, the top, as well as the bottom. I am offering free pick up of this item in Hampstead, NC 28443. I may be able to arrange shipping for you at the buyers expense. I believe there are companies that will come in and pack an item and transport it. It weighs approximately 50 lbs. 1873 vintage pioneer steamer victorian 19th century trunk original condition
For sale is a old original trunk from the 1800s that would be a nice restore project. The material is coming off as seen in pic but the wood is in good shape. 1 handle strap is missing and the drawer is missing. Feel free to ask questions, free pick up at my home near Decorah Iowa.
