The trunk has the original Jensen Trunk Factory label inside the hinged lid. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other labels on it from travel, but I am unable to make out any dates. The trunk is 12” tall, 7.5” deep, 24” long and 14.5” wide.

Lot Of Steamer Trunk Harware From 1874 Trunk Handles Lockplate Caster Hasps More
Offering this lot of original steamer trunk parts removed from a patented 1874 trunk. The leather handles have been treated with leather dressing and are still useable.and the real thing! They measure about 10" across. The lock plate is in nice condition and includes the guard top piece you see in the photos. The two hasps are No. 2's. Cast iron and very nice. Auction includes two black leather straps 9 1/2" long by 1 1/4" wide and about 1/4" thick pre-slotted to receive the prongs on the retainers. Four gold painted pronged metal retainers approx. 3 1/2" by 1 1/4" Sixteen split tacks for nailing the retainers(Eight 1" split tacks for the inside and eight 3/4" split tacks for the outside) Once the retainers are nailed in place you have your movable handle. This design will allow for the handle to flatten out when not in use. Drill the sides of the trunk about 1/4" where the prong is to be located. These are the best type of handles.Very sturdy and can be used on medium and large trunks. Free postage.

Antique trunk flat top steamer with all original parts except handles and endcaps with original wood tray. This trunk has been recently refinished and is in mint condition. It has been stripped. Cleaned stained and has 2 coats of laquer. The wood is slick and smooth, you will not find many trunks with as smooth finish as this trunk. Physically it is in good condition but obviously it has been used through the years. Measurements, left to right =L 30 1/2" front to back=D 18 5/8"from bottom(floor) to top of trunk=H 21" Tray measures L 28 1/2, D 16 5/8, H 5 1/8. This trunk weighs 39.6 pounds. The leather handles do measure 2" on each side but they can be pressed down so not to take as much room.

Two black leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" by 3/16" thick eight inches long. Four brass plated metal strap ends painted black one side. Split head brass tacks-eight 1" long to nail the leather to the trunk. Tacks are to be placed two per end under the position of the metal strap ends in a verticle position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Split head tacks 3/4" are to fasten the strap ends. The handles measure approx 10 1/2" metal end to metal end but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. free postage

Antique Vintage Wood Doll Handkerchief Glove Box Trunk Latch & Bentwood Handles
Fresh from an upstate New York estate! This offering is for a primitive light wooden box or doll trunk measuring 12" wide. 6 1/4" deep and 5 1/2" high. I believe it to be a handmade doll trunk as I found a primitive"Mammy" rag doll and an old celluloid doll inside(sold separately) but it could have also been used as a glove or handkerchief box. The trunk consists of wood panels nailed together with three narrow slats attached on top and one on the front. The wood finish is richly aged but there are stains near the old nail heads- which only gives it more character. To each end there is a bentwood handle. These look like they were an afterthought to the original construction. The front has an old aged tin lever latch. When the lever is vertical the box is latched shut. When flipped to the left, the box latch is open. ... moreInside the cover is attached a paper picture of a Victorian dressed woman. The bottom of the trunk is papered but the paper is stained and torn. A strap of burlap to the left side is no longer attached to it's nail to hold the cover from flopping back. The only splits in the wood slats are two short edge splits on the bottom. Each is aprox. 2" long and does not affect the structural integrity of the box. As mentioned it is lined in very old newspaper- all dated around 1835. The overall condition is good for its age: the two iron handles are still in tact. Most of the brass studs are present, the front latch is non functional, the hinges with square nails are fine. It is a very special piece of 19th century history. Primitive Vintage 1900's Small GREEN painted TRUNK TOOL CHEST BOX iron handles
1900's Vintage green painted& dovetailed construction carpenters tool box/chest/trunk. Grungy uncleaned condition with old musty tool oil smell(it had tools in it when found) The hinges& latch are replacements. But still have age& oxidation to the metal. The handles are metal. The lid has 2 gouges in the wood on the right top end. Condition is worn/used with paint splatters(mostly the left end) scratches, crackling, splits to the wood(side ends) etc. The zoom feature shows these details& more, so please use it before placing a bid! Here is a great Valentine's gift for someone: a 14 inch tall low brow china head doll. Marked'Germany' on the back of the shoulder plate, with her trousseau of white cotton, full feather stitched apron, calico cape, slip, middy-style maroon calico dress and calico morning robe. The clothes are rather large for her and loosely sewn in places- probably sewn by a child, but the fabrics are early and date to the 1870s. She has no chips or cracks and has a firm body, light bit of glue noted beneath back of shoulder and gap makes me wonder as to age. The box is a beauty, with what looks like a pale blue milk paint finish, old lock that opens easily, nice paper engraving of a girl on the old paper lining of the lid, wood insert and ribbon to hold up lid also present. What is unusual is the half-heart tin handles, probably replacements, ... morebut made from cut 19th century tin biscuit tins in a heart shape. The trunk measures approx. 6 inches wide, by 11 inches in length, 5 inches high when closed. There are nice early nails and'knots' that show through light paint finish.

8" by 11" Copper Pot With Elephant Trunk As Handles, Early Cookware, Now Planter
This is a beautiful old item. Likely from China(Owners were Chinese) it's Asian anyways. Measure at 8 inches high and 11 inches wide to the outside of the elephant trunk handles. The inside opening is just a hair over 9 inches. One of the side panels has been hit and dinged some which also cause it to separate from the main pot in a tiny section, thus will not hold water without a repair. There was an old attempt to repair with some solder or something on the inside. Over all it is in very good condition and very ornate as you can see. This is a very nice piece that looks like it dropped out of the cargo hold of a ship from the 20's. It has a great feel and shows its age as the seems are pulling apart. The paint is weathered, there is no key, the latch does not work and there is no key. Very well made and would be a lovely feature for a display or to give a real vintage feel to your favorite room. There is also a unique texture to the exterior of the trunk with embossed floral pattern that is separate from the printed color floral pattern. The trunk still has both original handles. The latches both work but sometimes you need to use a bit of muscle to open them as they stick a bit. The inside mechanism for the lock is missing. Up for auction today is this set of heavy duty trunk or tool box lift handles. They are made of heavy steel. They measure 3 1/2" in width by 3 1/8" in height. The handles extend 2 1/8" when up. They are stamped either 37 or 87 on the back. These are of a two piece design. When in use the mounting base has a stop built in so the handle only goes to the straight out position to prevent your fingers being pinched. Chest, military campaign chest or possibly a set of drawers at some stage. Each handle is as shown and has a recessed part to put your fingers in to grip round the central carry bar. Both are still fine for use today and there may be someone out there restoring a piece of furniture that requires two handles. They possibly date to the 19 th century. Condition: I am selling these basically as you see them in the photos. Both handles have age tarnishing and little scores/ marks to the brass ... morefrom age/ use. Some remnants of old paint to the surface can also be seen. But they both would polish up well. The rounded/ curved brass part to the back of each has some light dings; these could be just left as they are or possibly tapped back out if required. The dings to not affect the use of the handles. Each has four screws holes to the corners for fitting. Brass metal to the back is age tarnished. Each handle measures approx 5 ½” wide. 3 3/8” deep and would fit into a recessed area approx 1” deep. Two chestnut colored leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 8 1/2 inches long. Thickness is 1/4" Four brass plated metal strap ends. 1" long split head brass tacks to nail the leather to the trunk. Tacks are to be placed two per end under the position of the metal strap ends in a verticle position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Split head tacks 3/4" are to fasten the metal strap ends. The handles measure approx 10 1/2" metal end to metal end but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. free postage
