Antique LEATHER Treasure Travel CHEST Intricate Embossed Clean Large 16"x10"x12"
Purchased at an estate sale. The origin and age of this unique antique trunk is unknown. Completely covered in leather, it's a fascinating piece with a heavily embossed design on all five of the outer surfaces. The bottom and insides are leather too, but not embossed. This trunk also has a leather latch, but the hasp appears to have been removed from the trunk. On each end, there are leather handles that are quite sturdy and would be able to lift this trunk with a good deal of weight in it. The top/lid is curved like a treasure chest. Deep royal blue with a striking yellow stripe and black leather accents. The interior is a pale green with white accents, a very stunning pattern by itself. Includes 5 drawers, 2 types of wooden hangers which are on an extendable rod, and a travel case. The top of the wardrobe opens for ease of access. The side says"Kenworthy, Glenside, PA. The year could be 17(1917) or 47(1947) which doesn't make it the date of the chest. I estimate it to be mid-to-late 1800's. Beautiful original Chinese red color with starbust patterns. Both facing latches are missing. Iron ribbed and with an iron handle. Large and small compartment interior(see pic) I do combined shipping. We are pleased to offer this antique dome top trunk which dates to the late 19th century and may either be German or American made. No markings. It measures approx 25 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 17 1/2(LWH) and is in good antique condition. Made of wood and metal with small metal wheels/casters on bottom. Original drawer insert(needs repair) Original handles/straps are not present. Trunk lid needs new screws at the back hinges to secure it(see pics) All very easy repairs that we will leave to its new owner to do as they wish. From our family estate in Brooklyn NY. It has 5 drawers on the right, and hanging clothes storage in the right. There are some peach colored stripes painted on the outside of it, and the latches were painted gold. We don't think this is orginal paint. The lock is not working and there is no key included, but the latches still hold the trunk down. There are some scuffs on the side and bottom as shown in the photos, but these only add character to this trunk which has likely has travelled thousands of miles. Large Old Black Metal Chest Travel Trunk with Drawer, Long Lock, and Keys
Guessing this dates back to the 30's. But could be wrong. Measures 30.75" x 16.75" x 12.5" Metal and brass plate with vulcanized fiber. Removable drawer. Long lock(which works) with 2 keys. A little beat up, but in decent condition for age, all leather handles in good shape. The white stenciling(and stickers) can be removed. 1920's OSHKOSH STEAMER WARDROBE TRAVEL TRUNK CHEST Ironing Board PIN CUSHION
Stands about 42 tall x 26 x 23 inches. It has a last patent date of 1923. It has six drawers. One drawer has an iron holder insert and there is also an original large pin cushion that came with this trunk. Each drawer is unique with various partitions and tie downs. There are telescoping rods for the many various original hangers. There is also a removable latching box. Pretty clean inside with very light wear. The top leather handle is broke. Some minor scuffs, scratches, paint drops present. No holes or big dents. The key lock looks as if it was pried open, but it still latches the trunk shut when rotated. No key. weighs around 90 pounds. You can set up the shipping if you would like, and i could pacakage it for a small fee.

Most of the brass studs are present, the front latch is non functional, the hinges with square nails are fine. It is a very special piece of 19th century history. Rare Hartmann Vintage Stateroom Antique Travel Steamer Trunk Wardrobe Chest
Characteristics of Hartmann We are offering for sale an extremely RARE& UNIQUE fine stateroom steamer trunk. Came from an older Central Pennsylvania estate. Trunk has previous owners initials H L B. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the early 1900s. 1877: Hartmann Inc. was founded in Milwaukee. Wisconsin by Bavarian Trunk maker, Joseph S. Hartmann. 1905: Mr. Hartmann had a vision to build"luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence. Because of his vision. The company grew rapidly and moved to larger facilities in Racine, Wisconsin. This trunk has early Hartmann trademark cloverleaf hardware. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. This may be the only one is existence. VERY RARE Quality constructed. Trunk interior is fitted with American golden oak and cast brass ornate pulls with drop front hat box ... morearea that can be used as a desk. Exterior is fitted with rose and silver colored cloverleaf hardware(corners are cast iron and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated brass? which I believe the cloverleaf hardware was characteristic of early Hartmann. Canvas appears to have been a deep mahogany that has darkened over the years from the smoke of coal fired trains and ocean liners. Nice shaped edging of wild boar hide(pig skin) and fine brass tacking. The skin from a boar was tougher and thicker than other animals. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. The latch is marked Everwear TTC3 and Corbin made in USA. Stately Travel Chest Wardrobe Trunk These early trunks are very rare and hard to find and are as good as. Here is a vintage steamer trunk. Measures 39" long. 20" wide, 21" tall. Does not have a key. All parts are attached as shown in photo. Belonged to my grandmother who came to this country from Austria in 1910 so this trunk is at least 104 years old. Needs some restoration as shown in photos. Blue sides is some type of cloth material over wood. the bottom panel is metal as shown in photo. Hinges came loose and need to be attached. The wood shelf insert is cracked, but repairable. The two chest sections measure approximately 20" in height and are held together by iron fasteners and the stand measures approximately 2 7/8" high. Each drawer has a working lock and the chests come with the original key. Made from tin, the lid has 6 top studs, reinforced corner patches, carrying handles at either end and fab vintage appeal. It has typical Victorian faux wood grain effect on the outside, Dimensions: approx 62cm in Length. 37cm in Width, 34cm in Depth. The trunk also retains its front lock/latch but the key is long gone. I DO NOT THINK ANYONE SAW IT DURING PREVIEW, AND EVEN THE AUCTIONEER WAS A BID SURPRISED WHEN IT CAME UP ON THE BLOCK. Civil War Era Leather Deer Hide Skin Travel Trunk Stagecoach Chest Steamer Texas
This is a great old piece of folk art. I bought it from a lady who bought it at an antique store. She told me that it was Civil War era and that it is covered in Deer hide. She said that she lined it with fabric after she bought it. The leather is embossed with what makes me think of a Texas Star. Plus there are other decorative embossed accents. As you can see from the pictures some of the leather has come loose and it is ripped. Some is worn almost to the wood, on the back there are some water drip marks and as you can see plenty of inconsistency in color and wear. I do not know if the sides originally were covered but they are now exposed wood. Amazingly, the leather buckles are still intact and operational but it appears that a latch is missing front center. There are some exposed screws on the back where parts of the leather straps have ... moredeteriorated. A couple of rivets are missing. There be maybe other pieces missing, for example there are no handles on the sides. It opens and closes easily and seems to be a solid and sturdy structure. I think it is a fantastic decorator piece for a home, store or set, as well as a really cool piece of history. I cannot say I've ever seen another like it- especially with the embossed designs on the top.
