RARE Antique Vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Travel Chest Case w/ History
Incredible opportunity to own a piece of history- antique steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. It has traveled the world and although many of the vintage stickers have faded as you can see in one photo there is one that shows a date of 1936. The trunk measures 22.25 x 22 x 40 inches on the outside. As you can see in the photos it opens standing up and has one side with a hanging wardrobe(total 6 hangers. 3 for pants and 3 for shirts or jackets) The other side is a chest of four drawers in varied sizes- the top has a divided compartment. The trunk closes and opens well, the lock is separate and has been stored in one of the drawers as you can see in the last photo. The trunk is quite heavy and is available as local pickup only. I picked up this chest with the intentions of restoring it but just don't have the time. I do not know much about these other than the fact that they look cool. I have no idea how old it is. Who made it, or what it's worth. The measurements are as follows: 30" W x 19" D x 21" H. I especially like the metal hardware on this chest and it seems to be in good condition. 1870-1890 Victorian Dome Top Doll Chest Steamer Trunk ~ Original and Unrestored
This eye-catching Victorian dome-top/ camel top trunk is estimated to be from the 1870-1890. It is constructed of light weight wood and is covered in a multi-step process: printed paper is reinforced with wooden slats and then covered in tin pieces. The original maker’s label is on the interior lid of the trunk and depicts a young girl. The trunk was designed to mimic the steamer trunks used by adults of the times. As is common with these trunks. The handles are missing on both ends. Replacements are available on eBay if you choose to replace them. The trunks’ lid closes completely but the clasps do not extend far enough to hook. We have not been able to determine the cause of this but it is still fully functional for storage and display. A large wardrobe trunk made by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely well made. And equipped with beautiful oak slats and ball castors on the bottom end. This fine trunk is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made with the same quality workmanship as the famous much more expensive ones. Up for sale is this Gimble brothers hope chest or steamer trunk. It has been in my family for years and was asked to sell it by my aunt whom is the daughter of its original owner. It is completely original and has not been restored or altered at all since it was given to my great aunt as a wedding gift in 1931. It has some typical signs of age however it is very structurally sound. There is some rusting to the iron and both leather straps on either side are missing. But all original hardware is in place. Vintage Small Metal Covered Steamer Trunk Chest w/ vtg TRAVEL STICKERS - unique!
Unique small travel chest. Not sure of the history of this but it is certainly a unique piece! It measures 18x10x10.5" Has a metal skin over wood construction. Metal corner guards protect it from drops and damage. It has some age to it and shows character! It has old travel stickers on it like they used to plaster on luggage back in the day. It has a Bassett lock that is locked. I dont have the key. It does not feel like anything is inside. Feels empty. I am leaving the lock intact versus breaking it open. If you are using it for display the lock does not matter anyway. Part of the fun might be sourcing a key and opening it up! The other two latches operate fine. Looks like it had two leather strap handles that are missing. A top edge guard is also missing. All that said there is something really cool about the age and look of this mini ... moretrunk that drew me to purchase it from a local New England estate sale. Hope it finds a good home!

Antique Victorian Restored Domed Steamer Trunk - Storage Treasure Chest
A large beautiful lovingly restored domed steamer trunk which considering it's age. When it was stripped from the old canvas, dirt and paper the chest was in fantastic condition and has been treated waxed and polished to a now immaculate clean handsome piece of furniture with lots of storage space. It smells lovely and fresh from the natural refined beeswax that has nourished and will continue to protect the wood for many years to come. The beech bands complimenting the pine and metal work which has been coated also, to protect and last another hundred years plus. The lock is Legge and is in perfect order.I always intended to obtain a key, as it is all it needs. Vintage / Antique 1800's STEAMER CHEST TRUNK XCLNT COND:TRAY, WORKING LOCK & KEY
This 1800's clean steamer trunk is in(my assessment) is in Excellent Original Condition. INTERIOR: The trunk is made of solid wood. The interior is fully lined with a paper liner. The paper is a striped pattern. I have included a close up photograph of the lined paper. I consider the quality to be excellent. I can provide additional close up photographs as requested. EXTERIOR: Dimensions: 39" L x 24.25" W X 22.24" H The sides are a brown metal with wooden slats and really nice brass with the brass round accents. The leather handles on each end are in excellent condition. There are two latches also in excellent condition in addition to the central lock with key. The leather straps around the trunk could be refurbished. RIght now the are excellent on the top. But note they are torn and not able to fasten. I can provide close-up ... morephotographs as needed, just ask me. I was only able to load 12 pictures here. LOCK& KEY: I have the key which works to unlock the lock. I have included a photograph of the key.There is slight bend in the metal on the lock so you do need to jiggle it to open. The bottom line though is. The trunk locks and unlocks with the key. I like the key because of the heart shape. TRAY: It has the original tray and the tray has the original top. Both tray and top are lined with the same paper as the trunk. The removable tray sits in the top portion of the trunk. In the photographs below I have included a photograph with the tray outside of the box on the carpet with the top on. I have also included photographs of the tray inside to box. One of the photographs is of the tray inside the box with the top folded over so that you can see half of the tray's contents. The other photograph is of the tray inside the box with the top removed. PERSONAL ASSESSMENT: With my own research(I am NOT an expert) I estimate this trunk to be approximately made circa 1872 based on these three facts: 1. vintage Wheary Cushioned Top Trunk Wardrobe 1920's steamer luggage chest
This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. The fold out drawer on the right side does seem to be missing(what I assume would be) the lift out tray. Two original wood hangers are included. If you are looking for decorative storage. Antique Steamer Trunk Chest Dome/Flat Top Vintage original never restored 1800's
Antique Steamer Trunk. Dome/Flat Top, 100+ years old, original never restored This antique Steamer Trunk is commonly referred to as either a“Dome-Top” or“Flat-Top” It has the rounded front and back edges. It is tin covered with wooden bands. The interior has the original tray. Covered compartments and graphics. The hook that holds the tray up is still intact and holds the tray up and out of the way just fine. The pins that hold the tray in place allowing it to swivel up are also fully intact and working. The graphics have amazingly bright vivid colors and are in pretty good shape considering it is over 100 years old. This trunk has small metal wheels on the bottom for easy transportation. As seen in the pictures. They are a little rusty, but the wheels turn remarkably smooth and freely. The leather strap handles have broken off. But the hardware ... morethat holds them is still intact. Through the years, it has developed mild mildew and rust. please refer to the pictures as full disclosure of the condition) I don’t know the year of this trunk but through research and family history I am guessing it to be from the late 1800’s. If anyone out there knows. I’d appreciate any information you can offer. Approximate measurements: 34” long x 20”wide x 24” tall A brief family history as it may relate to this trunk’s age. My great grandmother was born in 1865. My mother’s family immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1881. My grandmother was born in 1895. My mother was born in 1925. This trunk has been handed down through the generations. My mother knew my grandmother had it. However I don’t know who had it first, my great grandma or grandma. Is it possible it came from Germany and was brought to the United States when they immigrated? One can only imagine the history behind this trunk and where it’s been. ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK VINTAGE WOOD BRASS STORAGE CHEST FLAT TOP W/Eagle Lock
This vintage trunk has been in storage for quite a few years. It's still functional with the lid still opening and closing. I'm not sure if the lock works. I don't have a key for it and didn't want to have it lock on me. The lock is made by eagle lock company of CT. The leather straps are not all there due to its age but the fasteners still work. I'm not sure of its age. The lining is paper and is peeling. This is for local pickup only. It measures 2 1/2 feet long 21 1/2 half inches high 18 1/2 inches front to back. Thank you for looking!

Vintage Antique Steamer Trunk Chest with False Bottom & Secret Drawer
Up for bid is this antique Steamer Trunk. It has a false bottom& a secret drawer. The secret drawer opens by turning a screw that releases a latch. I'll let you figure out which screw to turn. The interior is cedar& it has a removable tray. The latch has come loose& it says on it Eagle Lock Company Terryville. Conn. There was a couple pieces in it but I don't think they go to the trunk. I will include them in the auction. The latch looks like it was glued on. The trunk has a removable tray which is made of cedar as is the interior& the secret drawer. The exterior is steel or tin or sheet steel or what ever you want to call it. It's magnetic, with wood accents. The raised strips areas riveted on the trunk on the exterior are wood with the rest being metal. The secret drawer opens& closes smoothly. I guess people ... moreback in the day had problems with their relatives stealing stuff too or were into smuggling. It is spring loaded so when you turn the latch the drawer pops out. Some idiot has painted the trunk white. It should be fairly easy to strip off. It looks like it is already peeling off& shouldn't be too much trouble to get off. The red interior has one are that has a spot in it as seen in the picture& a small damaged area where the lock goes as seen in the picture. The trunk is heavy weighing approximately 39 pounds. The trunk measures approximately 24" tall by 14.25" front to back& 18" to the top most part of the curved top lid. This trunk will look cool restored sitting by the foot of the bed& with the cedar wood it will keep all the bed bugs out of what ever you like to store in it. You know this will be a cool restoration project for you during the long winter months. In the last picture I show the latch& the 3 extra pieces I found in the trunk. The 3 extra pieces are no cedar& I don't believe go to the trunk. I am including them because they came with the trunk. I do not have the key for the latch. I think who ever painted it whit

Large rectangular steamer trunk by Hartmann Trunk Company. Not sure of dates. But I tried to look up the patents(on a label inside the trunk) and the only patents I could located were from the 1920s. Approximately 4 feet high, 2 feet wide,foot and a half deep. Leather handles torn. Some rust. A little musty but it should clean up decently. Some tears to the fabric, and a small dent/break in the exterior(visible in the 10th picture) Prefer local pickup but will provide a shipping quote if interested. Please check my other items. Vintage Humpback Steamer Trunk Treasure Chest 1800's Victorian
The trunk is in fairly good shape considering what is thought to be its age(1880s? Dimensions are 32" x 18" x 21" No mold that I can see. Nice Patina to the metal parts and normal wear to wood. Both straps pictured are intact. No keys and middle lock as been busted the white stuff on middle lock is glue from tape. The hardware on top says"Pat Mar 1880" which is the patent date from the research I've done. The lock says Pat Jul 972 which is apparently the patent date of the lock as July 9, 1872. The bottom is intact and all 4 wheeles are there, there is a small piece of wood missing from inside see pics. the weight of item is appx. 35-40 lbs but adding for crate weight it is showing 60-65 lbs appx.

Bassett Steamer Trunk most likely from the 20's. Overall. The trunk is in fair condition for it's age. The hinges are still strong. No loose bolts. It measures 24 inches long x 12inches wide x 12inches high if lying on long side. Size of 1 draw is 11"x6"x8" Comes with 5 small hangers. Vtg Steamer Trunk Footlocker Travel Organizer Box Dorm Luggage Chest Black Brass Height 13" Length 31" Width 17" Blemishes. Rusty, scratches, scuffs on the outside and inside of the trunk. Both of the leather straps are missing. The two outside latches keep the trunk closed well. The middle latch is bent and does not close all the way. I do not have the key for this trunk.
