Antique Black Steamer Travel Trunk Leather Handles on Each End Front Latch NEAT!
This auction is for a vintage steamer trunk. I think this is the right wording for them. This is black, hinged lid, leather strap handles on each end. Two clasp closures on the front, the main lock is missing the bottom as you can see in the photos. The inside is papered. This is worn and discolored, it is the original. There is a wooden bar on each side where the shelf would sit, but is no longer with the trunk. Measures right at 36" wide, 21.5" deep and 24" tall. It has weight to it! Due to the size and weight it will be available for pick up only. This is a nice piece of history. Coming from a smoke free home. Good luck and happy bidding!

for your consideration A beautifully refinished all metal exterior dome top Steamer Trunk. ca.1880 New high quality 2 ply stitched black leather handles and a lid lift. Made from local Amish leather shop here in central PA The inside has been cleaned. Lightly sanded, brushed and cleaned again then sealed with a high quality finish, left uncovered to show the beautiful pine, notice 1 piece of wood was used to make the back, that makes for a much stronger trunk to support the lid. The outside has been sanded. Cleaned, painted and sealed with a satin finish for protection. the new latches are in perfect working order. Antique maritime box/trunk
This great looking trunk-box has had its hinges and carrying straps replaced/ no original hardware. Per the pictures. The top has considerable wear on it but is age appropriate. All the sides are in excellent condition for its age. It sits at 1 ft tall, 26 3/8 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. Left side of the box is marked R N and the right side is marked V R, per third picture. A very nice piece for any meritime collection!

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 1800s DOME STEAMER TRUNK CHEST WOOD 4 ORIGINAL COMPARTMENTS
We are pleased to offer this very nice. BEAUTIFUL antique VICTORIAN steamer trunk. The chest has a domed top and is wood and metal construction. It features ornate iron hardware and trim and leather side handles. This wonderful trunk has an UNTOUCHED, ORIGINAL INTERIOR. The interior is lined in decoupage fashion. It has 4 compartments that are each defined with a different decoupaged portrait. They lift up(the top compartment lid lowers) for storage but they are not the"lift out" removable type of replacement trays. They are constructed of a heavy cardboard type material and have hooked closing mechanisms. The largest compartment is the lower compartment. It is accessible by lifting the sides of the center compartment. The trunk is very nice and is very much in original condition with very little restoration. The leather handles ... moremay have been replaced at some point as they have an aged patina but are in excellent condition. The trunk has the original locks but has no key. There are two clasp closures with locks on the front with a large center lock. There are 4 small wheels on the bottom of the trunk for easy transport. They are in good working condition. The trunk has no major dents or damage. There are a few minor dings but they are not very noticeable and they do not distract from the beauty of this chest. The interior is aged and is in untouched and unrestored condition. It is quite lovely with no major rips or tears to the decorative paper lining. The trunk measures 30" wide. This trunk is an amazing piece of history. This trunk has a little story behind it. My great grandfather, was the owner of this trunk, I don't know where he got it from, but he was very wealthy, and he owned, a huge mansion, up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, witch is very rare, as 99.9% of folks are poor up there, as there is nothing but trees, and water, he had left the estate to my grandfather, about 40 years ago my grandfather never went back to the estate, he let it become basically codemed or he let it go, and it became un-livable, when my grandfather died the estate went to me I didn't know about it so I went and checked out, and I found this trunk hidden between his closet, and a little trap door in what might have been my great grandfathers master bedroom. LATE 19th CEN. BRASS BOUND LEATHER TRUNK-BEAUTIFUL PATINA& EXCELLENT CONDITION This beautiful English leather trunk. Dating to the late 19th century, would make an excellent end table. The trunk is covered with brown leather which has a beautiful warm patina. It is bound with brass corners and corners straps, and has brass handles with large backplates on each side. The front has two brass locks and latches. The front and both sides each have a row of copper studs running between the corner straps. The hinged lid opens to a fabric lined interior. The trunk measures 22"w x 20"h x 20"d. Condition: Aside from minor wear. Rubbing and small stains to the leather, the trunk is in very good-excellent condition. The original fabric which lined the trunk has been replaced at some point with a light maroon fabric which is also in ... morevery good-excellent condition. Huge Antique 17-18th Century Oak Coffer Blanket Trunk Sea Going Captain's Chest
Enormous chest. Oak, heavy dark original patina, hand forged hardware, evidence of worm holes and early wood bore, none existing now) with thick solid planks of oak used in construction. Chest measures 77x281/2 x40 inches and weighs upwards of 400 pounds. Provenance: A European castle, possibly Germany. This piece came to the U.S. in the 1950's with Colonel William Shlitz, USA, and we have purchased from estate. Non smoking estate but there is evidence of purple paint to be removed on one edge(per the estate, the work of a small child) Most wood is upwards of 1 1/2 inches thick. Evidence of hand hewning on back, as well as planing. Chest is solid, and tightly together and very well kept and well built. ANTIQUE 17/18th C CARVED ITALIAN WALNUT CASSONE -TUSCAN TRUNK -RENAISSANCE CASSO
Here is a dandy to start the New Year with. A great antique Renaissance 18th century Walnut Cassone( Cassonne) or a storage trunk(as in American Blanket Chest) This piece is of great quality, crisp carvings, gorgeous hairy Italian carved paw feet. The piece is of rock solid construction, heavy and massive- just the way these babies are suppose to be. Top lifts up, connected with 2 hinges, on the underside of the lid and on the outside of the back of the bottom. Hinges are 100% original to the piece, made of the hamerred iron, very early(18th C) Condition is good, corners chewed as is the case with just about all of these, but all else tip top. Size is large 56.5" wide, 23.25" tall and 21.5" deep. It is hard enough to find one like this from 19th C, and here you have an 18th century example for no money- bargain! Antique Maple & Co Wicker Canvas Domed Travel Trunk
As found. In very original unrestored condition this colonial Domed lid travel trunk. Made of wicker with a papier mache lid, All of which is covered in a dark brown canvas with leather edging handles and straps etc. It has a brass lock which is marked"London" The trunk was sold by the famous Maple& Co company from London England. The trunk is most probably of colonial origin. The inner tray is still there. The straps are there but one of them needs to be fixed. The trunk measures 21"x 30" Height is 25" To the top of the domed lid. The pictures don't do this beautiful antique trunk justice! It is a true eyecatcher, a museum piece! Dating from around 1895! OLD MILITARY TRUNK FOOTLOCKER METAL AND WOOD
For auction is an old military style foot locker. It is wood and has a metal covering. It is approximately 30.5" wide. 17" deep, and 14.5" tall. There is an old crest painted onto the top, but I don't recognize it as any modern unit insignia. It may be related to an old military academy or camp. This footlocker probably dates to between the World Wars(1920-1940) Judging by the inside, it is closer to the older part of that date range. The remnants of an old trunk sticker reference the Civilian Military Training Camps program(CMTC) which only existed between those years. T his Indestructo steamer style trunk came from an old estate of a well-traveled couple living in the Shenandoah Valley. Virginia. Included with the trunk is 1 Suit Jacket Hanger, 1 Pants Hanger, 4 Shirt Hangers. The trunk appears to be fairly complete, however the lock has been removed by the previous owner. Many locks for this style trunk are available on Ebay but it doesn't affect the quality, nor functionality of this Indestructo Trunk. The trunk also has 4 drawers that all open well and has a bar lock to keep the drawers from opening on their own or being tampered with. The removable shoe box is complete with snaps but the leather has since torn over the years. This would be an easy fix for anyone competent in leather work. 19th Century Metal Bound STAGE COACH TRUNK Refinished JENNY LIND Style Lock
Beautiful Refinished 19th Century Stage Coach Trunk Solid Wood. Was covered on the outside w/ paper, but most of paper was gone paper was cleaned off. And trunk was sanded, and finished leather straps were added to the trunk. Original ones were gone I chose these straps. As the design on them was much like that of the original paper: The handle on the left side(when facing the front) is the original handle. Amazingly still very sturdy, the other is a replacement, matches very well The loop at the top above the lock is a replacement. Matches the handles The lock could presumably be made to work again. But doesn't at this time, I don't have the key either The lock is beautiful. It is a Jenny Lind style lock, very intricate and beautifully designed The inside is totally lined with leather. Offered for sale is this exquisite German Black Forest wood carving"Squirrel on tree trunk" The squirrel is grabbing a little animal on its left front claws and the right front claws are grabbing the trunk. The tree trunk is surrounding by some leaves. Tree fern and rocks. The piece has one or two leaves damage and some old worm bites, overall it is in excellent condition for age. No signature and the exact age unknown, probably 1900's or so. The trunk is hollow on top, it size about 2-1/2"in depth. x 2-3/4"in diameter. It can hold a candle inside but this is too good to be a candle holder. The piece measures 6-3/4"H x 7-1/2"W x 6"Deep. The piece is heavy nice wood. 1940's Antique JCHiggins Flat Top Steamer Trunk Chest Miltary Luggage Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk Chest Long Co. Lock. The lock functions as designed. 2 keys are available. This is a great original antique trunk that measures 36" long X 23.5" Tall X 21 1/4" wide This is a big one. I am not sure of exact date when it was manufactured. But i would put somewhere around 1940's. The stamp on the lock reads Long Lock and Lock# 907. It has genuine leather handles on both sides. All the rivets are in place. The hardware is made from brass. The trunk is made of Vulcanized Fiber. It is in sound shape. There is a pull out drawer with the lid. The drawer is divided in two sections. The upper lid has a few stains. Which is the sign that the trunk has been used as a coffee table as well. There are 3 shipping stickers. One of them ... morereads Australia destination. Ornate Antique Steamer Trunk. Refinished
You are viewing a very stunning antique Steamer trunk. Out of all the trunks I've refinished. This is by far the most unique. The metal trim on all sides, front and back has a unique detailing to it. I would dare to say it is one of a kind. It has been refinished inside and out to bring out the beautiful patina to the Pine base and Oak slats. The lock is very ornate with great looking designs. The end clamps and hardware are also very detailed and unique. It has 4 working casters on the bottom to help in moving from place to place. I left the original paperwork holder on the inside top of lid. It is a little stained, but all intact with leather strap to keep it shut. The dimensions are; L35" W21" and H24" It has a slight arch to the top, but could still be used as a coffee or end table. Or just display it proudly for everyone ... moreto see. Each trunk takes time and great attention is given to every detail. I encourage you to use the zoom option on every picture provided so you can get a close up of what you are actually getting. This trunk is no stranger to beauty flaws. There is no tray. The lock has no key. I believe it does work if you could be lucky enough to locate a key. The metal trim and hardware has dings and dents. The Pine base and Oak slats have dings. Dents, cracks and holes. The inside envelope has staining. All of these are very normal and add to the character and authenticity of this aged relic. Vintage A Century Of Progress Hartmann Leather Suitcase-Antique Trunk Luggage
Hello! This antique Hartmann suitcase is quite a rare find. This lovely dark leather case features a patterned gold fabric inside and was most likely purchased in 1934. The tag inside reads"As exhibited by Hartmann at A Century of Progress" This model was introduced at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. Where the theme was"A Century of Progress" It featured the breakthrough technology of belt leather covering, a basswood frame, and inverted stitching. This beautiful piece of history would make a great display, perfect addition to a collection, or a wonderful authentic prop at a vintage or southern themed wedding reception. This antique case is in good condition considering its age and use. There is normal wear to the leather in the form of cracks. Scratches, etc. The wear is mostly concentrated to the corners and edges ... moreof the case. Structurally the case in wonderful shape, with no dents or damage. The hardware is in great condition and the latches work wonderfully. The inside fabric only has one small stain at the bottom, near the back(about the size of a quarter) The elastic in the ruffled pockets is in perfect shape.
