This little trunk measures 15inches long by 8 inches deep and 8 inches high. ... moreThere was no tray with this trunk when found but one was built for it out of oak and poplar. The trunk itself is made from pine and is metal bound. All the metal has been hand burnished but enough of the patina has been left to preserve the antique character of the piece. The lock is an Eagle lock and the latches function but are no longer spring loaded. The trunk has been refinished in a golden oak stain with multiple coats of sealer both inside and out. The original covering has been left on the underside to give a sense of the original look. The trunk is in overall good shape but because it is over 100 yrs old there are dings. Dents splits and cracks but these are minor and add to the overall antique feel. It is a very well made solid little trunk that will last a lifetime if cared for. These well made doll trunks are becoming quite rare and usually don't last long when listed. Shipping is FREE.

This picturesque immigrant trunk or chest is wormy pine with hand painted floral motifs resembling traditional Scandinavian rosemaling. Hand planed with hand cut corner dovetails. This furniture has a beautiful old finish. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. The interior is very clean. There is a compartment with a lift lid for valuables. Hand wrought iron mounts and handles are original, there are losses to the banding as shown. We purchased this beautiful old blanket chest at an estate sale(Centennial Farm. Jackson County) in Brooklyn, Michigan from the family. The chest is all original just like we bought it. The chest has the original blue paint and is made of all pine wood. The hinges are good as well as the lock(no key)see last picture of lock) The chest is hand planed(see pic.11) with a one board top, front, sides and bottom. The feet are separate pieces from the other boards. The measurements are 43 1/4" wide, 17 1/4" deep and 22 3/4" high(tall) There are 2 names on the boards as you can see in the pictures. One is Sidney McKee? and the other is L.G. Picket. I think I looked at them several times. If anyone can identify the names better please do so. An 1800s elm blanket box/ chest. Wonderfull colour/ patina and elm grain detail. Hand forged iron lid hinges. Recently wax polished so all ready for the home. Fully treated throughout and guaranteed for woodworm as the chest had suffered in the past as seen in the pictures, some areas around the top edges to the interior are filled, its very common for elm to be attacked by worm. Pennsylvania Signed Pine Miniature Chest c. 1860s With Feathered Painting
Pennsylvania c. 1860s primitive pine box or miniature chest with hinged lid. 20W. 9H and 11D. Beautifully hand feathered painted. The lid is one piece and shows beautiful 1800s saw marks shown in the photos. This box was probably hand painted by Sarahann Helt as a child and used by her as her treasure chest. The box was purchased by my father in Lancaster County Pennsylvania about 1950 and was given to me by my father. The name Sarahann Helt is painted on the back side of the box in beautiful large 1800s script. Two of the photos show all or part on the name. Sarahann Helt was born in Reed Station. Pennsylvania, in 1865 and died in 1946. She was married to Edward Hoffman and they had at least one child, Mathias Daniel Hoffman(1896-1963) Mathias had three children. American Chest 3 Drawers c1890 pin cove cherry & pine cast brass pulls
This chest of drawers has been in this household since the 70s when it was bought as antique. It has pin and cove joinery which was used in North America from 1870-1890. The secondary wood is pine and the main outer wood is cherry. It has a great French polished finish which is in excellent condition. The cast brasses are original and it has wood escutcheon keyholes. there is a lock on each drawer. It measures 37 1/4" x 31" x 18" approximately. The drawers are graduated. The top drawer has divisions inside. CONDITION: The finish is excellent although one side having sat near a sunny window is sunned a little. No rings or stains on the top. One of the molded pieces which constitutes a foot on the front is missing. The runners on the pine drawers inside have some wear since this was a working piece of furniture. Up consideration is a mid 19th Century 6 board pine Blanket Box. The piece measures 17 1/2 inches deep by 24 3/4 inches high with a length of 42 1/2 inches long. This chest is dated 1847 and signed R. Wiggins. This type of work or paint was added to Antiques in the early 60's when there suddenly became a renewed interest in American Antiques. It is signed R. We liked it while we were using it. Sturdy and deep drawers were so useful. There is one thin bar of wood missing above the bottom drawer which has nothing to do with the function. There are minor scrapes on a few spots like corners. But it looks fine on all major panels of wood. It is not solid pine wood. Pine wood covered. Original strong rope handles through elm side blocks. Hand painted with raised trim around the painted panels for added detail. Design based on vintage colonial pineapple motif and appear on both sides and the front of the chest. An old original Victorian blanket box. As its well over a hundred years old. It will have marks, old wood worm holes, small bows and splits but I think it all adds charm. The box was fully treated for woodworm to be safe and secure from any little beasties several weeks ago Inside has the original fish tail hinges and it still has its lock and upper keep in the lid but the key is long gone lost over time The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. Its a early example made from pine not heavy very light to lift. Unlike later examples. One side has trim on the edge the other does not see pictures. Could be used as a coffee table or look fab in a room for the old world look. Chinese Antique Tansu 1900 Pine Campaign Chest. Wrought Iron Mounts. Hand crafted in China around 1900. This"Campaign" chest or"Tansu" was designed to be carried into the field for military officers. Original wrought iron mounts include corners and retractable handles, some of the sliding drawer locks still work. Pine has hand planing marks everywhere and carved wooden pegs at the hand dovetailed joints. The finish is in excellent condition. Preserving loads of antique character- mars, dings and stains, see photos. There are no keys for the locks. A door at the bottom right secured two tiny drawers for valuables. Made of wood(oak? pine? that has 7 rows of 8 compartments(56 individual compartments total) Each row for wooden spacer blocks of a specific length(in picas) and each compartment in each row for blocks of different widths. There are 171 wooden spacer blocks in total and are painted black, and most have their length stamped on an end. Each row in the cabinet is labeled in ink on the left front side of the cabinet(see pics) There is a ruler attached to the front right side of the cabinet(see pics) The whole cabinet + blocks weighs 25 lbs. Vintage Pine Childs Toy Chest w/ Cowboy Motif Cap Guns & Brands
1940s or 50's wooden toy chest. Nice old toy box made of pine all the way around but with a pressed wood bottom. Great cowboy motif with cap guns and holsters. Spurs& a knife with sheath on the top, branding irons, boots and a hat on the front and different brand marks on the sides. The box is well built but has a piece of hardware missing on the front that could be replaced but is not necessary. The metal rods that run through the box to hold it together are in place but one end that should be on the front is missing. It does have some scratches but still has a great look to it as seen in the pictures. It measures 28 3/8" across the front, 13 1/2" from front to back and stands 12 1/4" tall. This large Victorian-era hand-waxed pine blanket chest- circa 1850-1900- has all original hardward(hinges. Knobs, handles) and is a piece that would complement any decor. Dovetailing construction. The lock in front could be fitted with a key. This chest has a large bottom drawer with wooden knobs. And a secret inner hinged compartment with 2 smaller drawers beneath it, to store your more valuable items. The top of the compartment is hinged, and when open it keeps the top of the chest open without worry of closing unexpectedly.
