The trunk features a"cushion top" with a fold out hanger system with original hangers. The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. This trunk dates back to the late 1800's. Here are the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 36 1/2 inches. From floor to top is approximately 26 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 20 1/2 inches. This large dome top is made up of pine base wood, ash or oak outer slat boards, and the dome is made up of early ply. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane. This one has a lot of distress marks which include areas on the wood that are darker in color, probably due to moisture in various places on this trunk. Also there are stress cracks running across the top wood that makes up the dome. There are typical nicks and dings in various places. This particular trunk was a little more weathered when we received it than most of the trunks we refinish. So we did make it as nice as we could, but do want to mention some of the characteristics. This one comes with the two factory original working locks. We have matched up a key that does work in each of the locks. You can lock your personal belongings away from others if you want to. The metal parts making up this trunk are not brass, so we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps and the handle caps have an embossed star on them. You could store a lot of belongings inside this trunk since it is pretty large. It may look nice at the foot of the bed in the bedroom or anywhere in your house where storage space is needed. If you are one who enjoys collecting rustic more primitive style antiques, then this one might be just the right one for you since it is more rustic than most trunks that we refinish. Antique Haunted Shwayder Steampunk Steamer Trunk with Contents This is a very unique and rare auction. You are bidding on an antique trunk and its' contents. A trunk with a very unusual story. Several years ago I purchased a rustic. Old cabin built in 1901 in the woods of the Colorado mountains. There is nothing'normal' about this cabin. One day, as I was getting my furnace updated in the crawlspace, the repairman informed me that there might be an older furnace in the depths of the crawlspace. Curiously, I shimmied my way into the tiny area and came across an old steamer trunk. My hairs stood on end. It was closed but not locked. When I cautiously opened it, I found a few things inside but nothing unusual. I brought those items inside, cleaned them up and placed them on a shelf. As time went by I noticed sounds emitting from ... morethe crawlspace. Not thinking anything of it, I continued on with my days. Then, on one unusual day, I was getting my holding tank pumped out by a new crew of men. One of the fellows mentioned that he heard some noise, a banging sound from the crawlspace and asked me what was down there. I remembered the noises I had heard previously but didn't mention it to him. He then asked me if I would be willing to get my cabin tested for paranormal activity. Apparently, this is something he does on the side. Feeling my hairs stand on end I refused his offer as the last thing I wanted to find out is that there WAS something'paranormal' going on in the space that I lived in! After the men left, I crawled down to the depths of the dusty crawlspace and was shocked to find that the trunk had MOVED! Not only was it in a different spot but it was also laying on its' side, just as you see it in the photos. You may be wondering why I had left the trunk down there. Antique Steamer Trunk-Dome Top-metal & wood bands-inside tray-circa 1890-1910
Antique dome-topped steamer trunk. Believed to be circa 1890-1910. Wood and most of the metal is in very good shape(could easily be refinished) however, the protective metal bands at corners have received some damage over many years of steamer-travel and freight-handling. The large interior tray is intact, and one of the lid-compartment doors is also intact. Note the decorative panel inside the lid, which is vibrant in color and unblemished. The interior of the trunk has the strong smell of cedar, so I'm assuming that tray construction is of cedar wood underneath the papered covering. Sorry but there is no key. The lid hinges close just slightly"off-center, but the trunk does close and latch securely with care. Can't see a maker's mark, but labels(where legible) indicate travel to NY, so assume it is of American origin. Or a childs toy trunk, I do not know for sure it's purpose. The latches are missing the top half, and the lock is missing the latch, so the trunk can't be latched. The hinges are in great shape and the trunk opens and closes easily. The leather handle straps are gone. The interior appears to be the original except it looks like the inside top was replaced with a pirate chest themed paper. All in all it's a beautiful antique trunk. Vintage Mid-century doll trunk steamer star lining metal case with clothes 13 pc
This is a nice vintage doll clothes carrying case. Steamer trunk style. I don't see a brand or manufacturer's mark on it. It is in very good working order with some minor usage wear. It has light dings. Rub wear on outside, but really in good very usable condition. The interior ining is a retro star type design. It is in good condition with a few flaws- some light staining and a little splitting type wear in a corner, overall good condition. There is a slide out hanger bar on one side that works well. The case when closed measures 9 3/4 inches tall by 5 3/4 inches wide and 5 3/4 inches deep. Opens and closes very well and all hinges. Etc in excellent working condition. On the opposite site. I think it was probably designed to hold a doll, and underneath that area is a cardboard drawer. It doesn't pull out well anymore. I think ... moreat one time the case that holds it was actually mounted to the inside, but now you can take out the case and the drawer. It would be easy to mount again, if you want to do that. The outside is a light blue. With great old style trunk hardware, including butterfly style latches on the back. I am also including the clothes that came with it when I purchased it a few years ago. There are 13 pieces(counting the little pair of socks as one item! and a few have some stains, but most are in very good vintage condition, ready to use! The one picture showing some light dings on one end looks WAY worse than it really is- maybe the bright light made it look that way. In the 13 pieces you will find a small pair of socks. A medium size pair of doll off-white girl's pantaloons, 2 pairs of underpants, 5 doll bonnets/caps/hats in various sizes(mostly bonnets and one is satin with some tears) small to large, 1 pair of Ken-ish style unmarked khaki type trousers(would fit that type doll) 1 large doll dress, light pink with a fairly large stain. It has a metal zipper. It could be tea-stained or dyed a darker color, because it is a nice dress for a large doll, a Barbi-ish faur fur long cape also

It measures 30" wide across front. 18" deep front to back. and 21" tall at highest point. It has 98% of it's original decorated paper inside. One of the metal ones is covered in fabric and one is wrapped with crochet/nylon loops. The nylon-wrapped one I think is from 1970’s and the rest are of unknown age. But some could be quite old because they all came from different locations(they are from estate sales) The two wooden ones and the cloth-wrapped metal one all have the ability to fold down the hook part. Which I think means they came from steamer wardrobe trunks. The wooden ones are the longest and measure 17” long. The one with the stitched-on fabric has stitches that are coming out and t he one wrapped in cloth has some holes in the fabric(see photos)
