This French commode measures 36" in length. 33 1/2" in height, 15 3/4" in depth from the wall. Condition The overall condition of this 19thc French Louis style marble top commode is excellent used. The patina or finish on the commode is excellent. On the left lower front leg there is a 1/4" piece of veneer missing. On one side of the commode there are two shrinkage lines that really do not deter from the overall visual beauty of this commode. The surface of this fine commode is a vivid display of flowers and foliage on intermingling vines over a parquetry background. The mounts on either corner are heavily acanthus in nature, rather bold and conforming appropriately with the Rococo naturalism of the pulls and central apron motif. The sabots are typical for the style, very nicely cast and of appropriate substance for the size of the case. The castings are of medium fine detail, ranking above most peers of it's period in terms of chasing and filing of details. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the top revealing a mixture of tongue-in-groove and dovetail joinery while both drawers are crafted with large dovetails at the front and back joints using solid golden oak planks. Up for sale is this antique French Louis wood parquetry ice chest. It comes from a weathy Conn estate and is a wonderful piece. The hand jointed veneers are outsatnding and in very good condition. There are 2 original brass(missing 2 small screws) handles that lift the top which leads to a metal ice tray/planter. The top is accented in a reticulated brass edge as well as the base top. There are brass ormulus at the feet. At the sides there is a wonderful carving accent. It is in overall very good condition. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Mid Century, vintage buffet table/sideboard. The wooden cabinet features French Provincial style with carved details. The wood has a golden yellow/mustard wash with visible grain. The carved details are plentiful and feature geometric designs on each of the rounded corners. The double front doors have a faux lattice pattern inside the raised panels with carved flowers above. There are painted, pale teal accents on the recessed areas of the doors. Both doors open to reveal the storage compartments. There is a large upper drawer as well as an open storage area located under the drawer. The top of the cabinet is laminate. It is black with a faux marble pattern. It is also textured to further replicate stone. The cabinet sits on casters and is easily moved. This lovely piece was part of a dining room set ... moreand was manufactured by Drexel Heritage in Hickory, NC. It is numbered but the manufacturer's tag is missing. The tag was on the matching dining table but, due to some damage, we did not purchase the table. This is a striking and beautiful sideboard. It would make a gorgeous entry table as well. It is in very good condition. There are a few, very minor scuffs to the finish, but nothing distracting or severe. The sideboard measures 41" wide. 19" front to back, and 32" tall. The top single draw is adorned with a putti/cupid, the next four draws, in tandem, have floral motifs and each of the three remaining smaller draws, display miniature paintings of estates. It measures 49" wide and 36" high. It features a serpentine marble top in grey with veins of white and pale gold, over a serpentine-shaped chest with two short drawers over two long drawers. It has a curved apron with a shaped drop in the center, and ends in flared feet. There is no key. Drawer pulls have bale handles with circular backplates in a style dating from the Regence period, and often used through the middle of the Louis XV period. Narrower handles were once used.
