Contract#W6690M5499, APRIL 11, 1934, SPECIFICATION 23-79A, PHILADELPHIA, O.M. DEPOT. This trunk is in Very Good plus condition. The outside of the trunk has few flaws, other than the leather straps and key, and is a beautiful combination of wood and metal trim. All four sides look real good and the top looks real good with just a few scuffs and scratches. The lock and all the side and front clasps are all aligned properly and look fresh. In fact, I am confident that if I had the key, which I do not, the lock would still ... morebe in working condition. The inside of the trunk still has most of its original paint and is quite clean. This trunk is an estate find from Hop Bottom. Pennsylvania. There aren't any maker marks on the trunk. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Company- Terryville, Conn. The trunk is in good functional condition and is an excellent candidate for a repurposing. Perhaps as a coffee table. The size of the trunk is 23 1/4 inches tall x 22 inches wide x 36 inches long. All of the hardware functions normally and appear to be brass. The tin cladding and wood accents have beautiful patinas. The interior appears to be original. The interior tray is missing. The handles on the ends are gone with time and there is no key for the lock. Please ask any questions before bidding. I will gladly take any custom pictures you may require to make your decision. This auction is for an amazing old trunk. It would make a great coffee table or as another accent piece in your home. It is a flat top which allows things to be sat on it. It measures approx. 23 inches tall 32 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The lock on the front reads Eagle Lock Co. Terrville CT. It has a 1892 patent date on it. The lock has been pocked off. The inside still has its tray which removes easily. There are a couple of lables for Railway Express Agency and the initials A.M.F. on the side. As you can see in the photos it shows some wear. But has that look of history from all the places it has been. I am located in the western suburbs of Chicago, I have it as pick up only. I am willing to take the trunk to a local UPS or Fedex store if you want it shipped however shipping will be at your expense. Thanks for looking.

Antique Steamer Trunk 1900-1950, Eagle lock no. 410
This trunk is unique from other Steamer Trunks of the era. At some point 1 inch caster wheels were added for ease of transporting 3 are steel wheels, 1 is wood. The covered insert tray is still with the trunk as well. It has some flaws, but who would not at its age. The lock is manufactured by the Eagle Lock co of Terryville, Conn. U.S.A. no. 410. That is printing in the lid saying water proof, and a note written in pencil on the back top of the storage tray not to sell this trunk. It is a very nice piece. With the wheels it might even make a great coffee table. The size is 34" L x 21w x 24 3/4h with the wheels. Questions please contact us.

Eagle was the largest trunk and cabinet lock maker in the world. They exported their locks to the West Indies and South America. The company at one time had three manufacturing plants and 1800 employees. Eventually the company was sold to people who lack knowledge about the lock business and proceeded to make many bad decisions. Barely holding on in the early 70's another individual bought the company from Penn-Akron Corp. Which had gone bankrupt. But by 1974 it was out of business after losing a bid to the Lori Corporation for a large order for cylinders for the U.S. Postal Service. I recently had an antique expert give me more information on this trunk. It is a original Eagle Lock trunk. Manufactured in Terryville CT around 1910-1920 May be earlier. I dont know if it had a key originally. But I do not have key. It is in over all good shape. For being over a 100years old! The middle lock doesn't close properly because the top of trunk is off level to match up with lock, so that it will close in place with lock. But both left and right latch locks do latch on properly to close trunk. Please see pictures for damage. It is approximately 21 in. Width and 12in. Height.

You are looking at a very& rare beautiful Used Antique wooden trunk. With a metal bottom. The handles are not there. The hard ware that held them on is. I guess you came say this trunk was carried around a lot. The lock is marked Eagle lock co. Terryville, Conn. It's in nice shape for it's age. I do not know the age. The fabric is rough, inside and out. It seen better days. There is where all over. There is also a small burnt spot. I am guessing it's lucky to still be where. I am sorry to say.
