You are bidding on a Rare to find piece of History; an original(Not a Reproduction) Vintage Hirschfelder and Meaney Steamer Trunk/Chest that measures approximately 38” x 22” x 26” An early to mid 1920 Hirschfelder& Meaney US made cabin trunk with studded and gilded metal corners and iron clasps. Hinged to reveal a fitted dimension as shown above. We searched extensively on the internet to find information about this piece of history and all we could find is as explained below: Hirschfelder& Meaney was established in 1893. With offices and salesrooms at No. 22 Sutter Street. Its factory was located at Twentieth and Florida streets in San Francisco and covers an area of eleven thousand square feet. The San Francisco Call Newspaper of November 16th ... more1911 listed their address to be on 519 Market Street and another internet search revealed they moved to Battery Street around 1913. Hirschfelder& Meaney was also listed in the 1926 San Francisco chamber of commerce publication as a chest maker with address at 36 battery street San Francisco. Earlier edition of same publication published in 1910 listed same company’s address to be 519 Market Street There are documentations published between 1910 and 1926 that made reference to this company. I have not seen any reference to the company after 1926. This however does not mean one is not out there and for this reason we listed this chest as mid to early 1920. Primitive Blue Green Painted Foot Locker Small Tool Chest Trunk 4H Lift Top Folk
Painted pine primitive six-panel trunk or foot locker. This piece has a layer of blue paint over green paint and has a 4-H logo stencilled on the lift top. Sturdy construction with dovetail corners and applied molding around the bottom and iron braces at the corners. Beautiful stamped metal handles have been attached to the side. Brass key surround at the front lock. Unsure of exact age- the trunk itself probably dates from the 1800's. But its most recent paint job has to have been after 1910, when the 4-H logo was created. It may have been built as a tool chest and then repurposed for tack. Overall. This piece is in very good condition, although there is significant wear to the paint and some wear and minor damage to the wood itself. Vintage / Antique 1800's STEAMER CHEST TRUNK - Large - Needs restoration
This antique steamer trunk has no identifying information; however. We believe it is from the 1800's. The trunk measures approximately 38" long x 26" high x 22.5" wide when closed. It is a fabric-covered chest with wooden ribbing and what would appear to be additional leather stripping. It also has metal corners and hardware. Our trunk is in need of repair and restoration. The lock is missing and the hinges in the back of the trunk require attention. The top must be held open so it does not fall back. The inside of the trunk shows signs of age and wear. Please look closely at all of our photos and contact us with any questions. We have found no name or identifying information on this item so we do not know who manufactured it. Early 1920's Wood Blanket/Storage Trunk Chest Dovetail 33 1/2"x 22"
Came from a German family. Very nice late 1920's sturdy blanket chest, has inside cubby storage box which has a keyhole lock but no key. The chest measures 33 1/2"long x 22" high x 18 1/2" deep(front to back) Do not know the wood but has a reddish tone to it. You can see on top there is a surface crack(not all way thru) and it measures about 14" There are the normal scuffs from being old and used all these years. Looks like at some point the scratches were covered with a darker stain. There is some small chipping at the feet just in small areas. A little stain coverage is all that would need. No broken parts or hunks of missing wood. Some of the boards look like just one and not pieced together. Please ask any questions. Pick up only. Up for consideration is a nice size Stagecoach antique trunk that has been restored. It has been cleaned well inside and out. The wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. It os all original exccept for the handles were replaced with new leather ones. The inside was recovered so no musty smells. It does have some minor dings and stress cracks. But this only adds to the characture of this 150 year old trunk. It would be Great for a blanket chest. The measurements are; 30" long x 17" wide x 18" tall. Antique Nathaniel B. March Deerskin Covered Traveler's Trunk. Circa 1820s You are bidding on a very old antique Nathaniel B March traveler's trunk. It is covered in deerskin and brass rivets. It is in"as found" condition. The deerskin is rough and the pieces of leather that hang off the sides are rather dry. Side handles appear to be original and in good condition. Measures 24" long. 12" deep and 10" tall. The lock, which I am not sure is original or not, has been repaired at some point in the past(repairs look pretty crude and old. Original sticker is still inside, as is the paper covering. Wood seems solid and all intact but does show signs of what appear to be termite damage. Antique Primitive Pine Lift Top Trunk Painted Green Tool Chest Country Folk
Antique green lift top chest. Classic primitive or country style. It looks like it was made from pine and has a basic six-panel construction. The top is made from three framed boards with a raised piece on top. Iron side handles and a molded base. Paint looks original or at least very old. Interior has sections for holding things in the front and stepped sides to hold boxes up. There are also strips of gathered leather attached to the top that may have been for tools and a cut-out"L" shape that may have held a carpenter's square. So it seems likely that this trunk was probably a tool chest at some point. Trunk probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. There also appears to be some water damage to the finish ... moreand some water stains inside the trunk lid. The H hinges and side handles both show sign of rust, but are in solid condition and sturdy. The chest stands is 18" tall and measures 34.5" long and 22" wide. Early mines didn't have imposed safety regulations and miners' lives were often threatened. Measuring 22 1/2" long, 16 1/2" wide, and 9 1/4" deep, this Breathing Apparatus Trunk at one time held a complete set of life-saving equipment.
