Across its widest dimension, and has the maker's logo, in the shape of a key and name"ORBIN" the best I can make this out) imprinted below the key hole. Although we don't have a key for the lock, it"opens" by pushing down on the brass colored"button" Found immediately above the key hole. A key is not included. The 2nd trunk. Or chest, handle(see top-most item in center of picture provided) measures about 3.5" from left to right and 2.75" from top to bottom. The 4th item offered for auction. The items for sale are 3 antique spring loaded locks/latches that due to their age are being sold as seen and in their as found condition so please study the photos as they form part of the description. There is wear oxidisation etc commensurate with age and use- one of the back plates has a small amount of distortion. The one on the left the back plate measures approx. 52mm by 77mm. The one on the left is partially working- is under tension from halfway- the middle one has no tension at all- the one on the right is also partially working with tension from halfway. I have marked these down as Victorian but suspect they could be older. Please see my other similar locks. Will be posted using a cardboard box. Antique 19th C Wood Box Trunk Linen Chest Brass Lionhead Handle Orig lock no key
Up for auction is an antique 19th C small trunk or linen chest recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition but has many surface scratches to all sides as well as having some wood loss. Photo 9. We are not sure if it was for linens, small furs, or what but it seems too large to be a glove box. This measures 11.75 x 23.5, an unusual long and thin table top size. This is 9" tall. This is missing an original nut on the handle. This has brass reinforced corners. A very nice pice in a net size. Best of luck in bidding.

You are looking at an antique trunk strap with locking buckle. It comes with a key. And works fine. The strap width is 1" and the buckle is 1' x 2" It would make an interesting belt if you want conversation about your belt.there are possibilities. The leather is dry and old, so I'm not sure how much strength it has; the buckle works smoothly and as it should although the pin is slightly loose and I don't know what use over time would do to it.

Beautiful Refinished Dome Top Steamer Antique Trunk w/ Tray, Label,Lock & Key
Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Trunk with Working Lock and key. Here at Trunks-n-treasures we take pride in the trunks that we refinish. We have refinished hundreds of trunks. Each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very nice, clean refinished dome top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside. We then removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This gorgeous trunk is made up of pine wood with oak slats. Once we removed the metal we sanded all the wood and then applied tung oil to it as a finish. After much research we have found that tung oil works best because it replenishes ... morethe wood and prevents it from drying out so quickly. On this trunk are two new Amish leather handles. The latches on this beautiful trunk also work to keep the lid secure. The latches have the patent date of July 9, 1872. The lid of this particular trunk also has the original manufacturer label in great condition. Also on the lid there is trunk stay to keep the lid open when wanted. The lock for this trunk comes with two working keys. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has also been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. We have also made a tray to fit the inside of this trunk so you have two levels of storage. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look along with painting the metal black. The size of this trunk is perfect for its use as a hope chest to keep all your precious belongings in. This beautiful trunk would look very nice placed at the foot of a bed. ANTIQUE STAR TRUNK LOCK SMALL KEY - HARD TO FIND - 19TH CENTURY
This is an old key for some Star Lock Works trunk locks that have the straight vertical slot and the April 1877 patent date(see pictures) The key measures 1 1/2" long and is the style that fits many of the smaller Star locks. It may not work for every one of these but they have worked on the ones I have had in the past. It is an original Star Lock Works trunk lock key. Very hard to find. Note: There is a larger version of these keys which fits larger size Star locks. Used on many regular size trunks. This key was found in an old drawer with other keys. It has a really nice patina and good surface from age and use- it displays wonderfully. It is made from wood(pine or poplar) most likely but could be made from another wood and is a nice one with a very unique metal body with a wooden base and lid. It is a sturdy box or trunk and may have been used an an ice box or possibly even safe or lock box. It has a lock of which we found a key that works on the lock- and we are including it with the box. It has a really nice surface from years of age and use- just the way you like to find your country items. The top is painted ... morewith an old dark brown paint and has wonderful wear. The metal(sheet iron or some refer to it as tin) front is riveted to the wooden base and lid and is painted as well- has remnants of paint and areas where paint has worn away- just the way you like to find your antique items. It displays really neatly and could be used for storage. It measures approx 20.75" long and 10.75' wide and approx 10.5" tall. You are looking at a very& rare beautiful Used Antique wooden trunk. With a metal bottom. The handles are not there. The hard ware that held them on is. I guess you came say this trunk was carried around a lot. The lock is marked Eagle lock co. Terryville, Conn. It's in nice shape for it's age. I do not know the age. The fabric is rough, inside and out. It seen better days. There is where all over. There is also a small burnt spot. I am guessing it's lucky to still be where. I am sorry to say. The lock is a sneaky one. The key turns counter clockwise to lock. And to unlock you turn clockwise and then push the key in the lock downwards. When you do that the lock pops open. The interior has the original paper lining and paper covered wood drawers. The drawers have the original metal nobs. The paper is worn here and there and has some discoloration, but is mostly intact. It is designed to hold a doll on one side and all of her clothing and accessories in the drawers on the other side. The doll compartment is 17 ½ by 10” and 5” deep. The other side has 4 drawers. Antique Wood Chest Small Trunk Fabric Covered Worcester Metal Goods Co. Lock Key
The box measures 15.5" x 8.5" x 7.5" and is in good condition for its age. I do not know the maker of the box but the hardware is made by Worcester Metal Goods Co. It is very sturdy and the hinges are holding up well. The fabric is very soft but I am not sure what material it is. It is tearing at some of the edges but is mostly intact. It looks like only one nail is missing and I think it just held the fabric in the corner in place. All of the rivets for the hardware are original and intact. The lock is a little tight but it works well and has the key. The inside feels similar to wallpaper and has some wear and discoloring but is in pretty good shape. Feel free to ask questions. Beautiful Refinished Dome Top Steamer Antique Trunk w/ Tray, Picture,Lock & Key
With the holiday season soon approaching what a wonderful gift idea it would be to provide that loved one with a antique trunk. This Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Trunk comes with Working Lock. Original tray, original wooden handles, original picture and key. Here at Trunks-n-treasures we take pride in the trunks that we refinish. We have refinished hundreds of trunks, each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very nice. Clean refinished dome top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside. We then removed the paper from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This gorgeous trunk is made up of pine ... morewood with oak slats. Once we removed the paper we sanded all the wood and then applied tung oil to it as a finish. After much research we have found that tung oil works best because it replenishes the wood and prevents it from drying out so quickly. On this trunk are the two original wooden handles both in great condition. The latches on this beautiful trunk also work to keep the lid secure. The lid of this particular trunk also has the original picture in great condition. Also on the lid there is trunk stay to keep the lid open when wanted. The lock for this trunk comes with two working keys. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has also been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. We have also refinished the original in the inside of this trunk so you have two levels of storage. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look. The bottom also has the original casters which still roll very well.
