This is a 110% authentic and genuine antique Louis Vuitton Steamer wardrobe upright trunk dating back to 1913. It's in remarkably great condition. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. This was convenient when it was used as a wardrobe trunk. The monogram canvas. The wooden slats on the bottom, the locks, the nails, and the leather straps are all marked with LV and/or Louis Vuitton. It is hand painted and monogrammed with the initials L.J.P- it was once used as a wardrobe trunk, the tray is gone but the cedar slat is still there. The front lock says 1 Rue Scribe, Paris, Louis Vuitton, London, 149 New Bond Street, Made In France. The lock number is 039456. The Louis Vuitton label is on the inside. ... moreStripes were typically used to identify these trunks with their owners when they were taken on trips. The stripe in the trunk is white and hand-painted by LV in Paris which is an important part of its history. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. Adorable Old Lithographed Child's Doll Domed Steamer Trunk with its original Tray Insert Approx. 12" across x 7" deep x 7" High. Wood with detailed paper litho decorative gold. Brown, and black design of pattern and straps to simulate old trunk design. Has metal accent lock closure and brackets, but front lock was for look only and was not designed to actually work. Believe this would have been possibly a salesman sample or display piece or possibly as a little girl's toy doll trunk back in the day! No manufacturer markings that we could find. Very old with wonderful nostalgic charm! This is a vintage(not new) item and should be considered as such. Condition: Sweet unusual vintage steamer trunk toy or salesman sample in aged"played with" used condition. Is delicate due to its age and construction and has age ... moreand playwear as pictured which gives this piece its unique aged antique charm. Litho paper has darkened, worn and peeled, and looks to have dirt/moisture/age spots, as pictured. Outside litho has steamer trunk details and inside is blue and white swirling vine design. Someone has glued picture/stamps of assorted children's faces and two old US flags on the inside lid. Strap around center has worn and curled on edges. Metal pieces have darkened/rusted in places and brackets on back are loose. One of the brackets is missing one of its four stud nails. Amazingly, it still has its original paper litho tray insert, but bottom of insert has detached from two sides tearing the litho and would need repair. The original bottom was coming loose from tray, and was cracked, so to make this trunk as fully functional as possible I thought it best to do it right! The inside of the trunk has been stripped clear of the inside paper. This is great b/c it gets rid of all old smells many old trunks hold it also makes the trunk free of many allergens the trunk has been left natural. This auction is for an Antique 1870's Dome Top Steamer Trunk. It is patented on the latches July 1. 1873. In addition the latches have a sideways locking mechanism to keep latch closed(see pictures) This trunk is in very Hard to Find, untouched original condition. It has its original embossed leather top and dark finish on metal& wood. There is a thin original leather covering on the front, back, and sides. Leather has a nice Eastlake design in the front. There is an old yellowed finish or conditioner that is flaking on the top of this leather. Seems like it may be original finish or preservative that was just put on this leather(not leather ... moreon top) I did nothing to this trunk inside or out except to dust it off. No leather conditioners or furniture polish or anything else was used on this trunk. It is as found from large Estate and looks like it hasn't been touched in decades. Someone at one point put on new hinges with wood spacers underneath hinges. I removed hinges and found that the original hinges were broken where the strap meets the barrel. Spacer was just placed underneath and is not glued to the trunk. I put replaced hinges back on so it can be used. The inside of the trunk still has its original litho's intact. The tray and inside bottom section of truck has its paper lining which is coming up or missing in some places and has stains. Paper in lid with 2 litho's is also missing some paper. Stains can be seen where paper covers original hinges on the 2 box lids. Girl on lid of larger box that lowers down and has original latch. Rider on horse is above smaller box lid. Both litho's are in outstanding condition for its age. The outside of trunk the handles are missing on the sides. It has heavy duty latches and hardware. Original Brass lock. Beautiful Victorian Era Steamer Trunk. Camel or Hump Back Style. Wooden slats across the top. Sides, front and back. The lock is yale. Has the greatest little clover or club design on it. The hardware is gorgeous. Victorian style, trunk style is common or the trunks produced in the late 1800's, 1880's. Large dome. Camel back style. Not slightly domed like some. Very likely belonging to someone from an upper class, usually camel back trunks were bought by people from higher classes, they were more expensive and people bought them b/c they were more beautiful, and b/c they would be placed on the top when they traveled. It measures 31" long by 19" wide and 23" tall(no key) The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was hand sanded then sealed with two coats of spar urethane(light sand in between coats) The exterior has some character flaws from age. There are some scuffs and rubs from the one or two times it looks like it was used for legitimate travel. and on the back panel the laminate is kinda separated from the plywood. This Hartmann trunk is approximately 40" x 27" x 24" The outside of the trunk is in decent shape. It has some wear on the leather. All of the metal and fastenings are intact. The clasps are original. The inside has some a good bit of water damage. See the pictures. This trunk needs a good bit of work. Antique,Vintage,Wood Steamer Trunk,Chest,Ornate Brass,Eagle Lock Co.,1833-1954
Nice Old Antique Trunk. I am not sure of the exact age. But the lock on it is from Eagle Lock Co. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age of the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. Antique Steamer Trunk, Dome Top, Fully Refinished with tray ca 1880
For your consideration is a ca 1880 dome top steamer trunk. I t has been fully refinished. The originally outside paper covering and interior paper have been removed to show the beauty of the pine wood. The wood was sanded and refinished with stain and multiple coats of sealer. The metal covering. Top and front, were sanded, primed and painted with lime green paint and then stain applied to give it an aged look. All hardware is original and in excellent shape. The hinges and lid stay are strong and work properly. All hardware was cleaned and sealed. The working lock comes with a key. The leather side handles are new. The bottom is clean. It has a new tray. Fantastic antique steamer trunk.
From my own collection a steamer trunk which we have used as a coffee table.It is good used condition but has marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.The handles are well worn and one is broken.It has been to South Africa and has various labels on it.It is on castors.There is no key and unfortunately I have locked it but I will try to find a key.Size is 20in x 18.5in x 32in. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. Nice Refinished Dome Curve Arch Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/ Interior Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Curve Top Steamer Trunk With Nice Polished Metal and Interior Tray Here is a very nice clean. Refinished fancy embossed patterned metal arch top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. Here are this beautiful trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 34 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. This nice trunk is made up of original fancy square or checkered patterned metal along with oak outer slat boards. We wire wheeled the fancy metal to bring it up to a nice shine which is probably very close to what it looked like back when it was sold in the 1800's. We also refinished the outer slat boards by giving them three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. Overall, this trunk is in very nice condition. We brush painted the rest of the metal ... moreby hand in black and gold leaf. The fancy metal is polished, not painted. This one has the original lock. It is missing the key hole cover. It does work with the key we have provided. Since the key hole cover is missing, the key has less guidance into the lock. With some practice, you can engage and disengage the lock with the key. The front latches are original and do work since the springs are still intact. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. We say Amish made because we obtain all of our leather items for these refinished trunks from an Amish man here in Pennsylvania near our home. This would be a fabulous trunk to put at the foot of the bed and store blankets and other clothing items inside, and it is sturdy enough to sit upon the top if you need to do so while changing your clothing. To tell you the truth, this trunk would look nice anywhere inside your home where storage space is needed. Going to the inside, we have made a nice tray for you that rests at the top edge where the original one once did. Gorgeous Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Two Original Interior Trays Here is an absolutely beautiful fancy refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. If you have been waiting for the magnificent trunk with a tremendous amount of hardware. Then this one is definitely the one for you. It is hard for us to find trunks throughout the year that are really nice like this one. Here are the trunk's di mensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. This beauty is made up of pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older ... moredistress marks which include nicks and dings in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. Just about all of the trunks that we refinish have these older character marks or distress marks, most of which have accumulated over time. The edge banding on the sides of this trunk is made up of some type of composition. It has some typical small splits or stress cracks in it, one of which we have shown in a close up picture so there won't be any surprises. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass, therefore we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk maker went all out and put lots of fancy hardware on this trunk. This beautiful trunk comes with the original signed working lock. Look at the close up picture and you will see it is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn" We have matched up a key for you that does work properly with this lock. This trunk originally came with leather straps with buckles. They were eroded away and missing, so we have run a nice pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top in the same location where the original ones did. This is an antique steamer trunk. Used for transportation of personal items while traveling by train or the like. The production date is estimated to be pre-1900. This is a very old steamer trunk that measures 34" wide x 19" deep x 18" high. It is a caramel brown color very true to placard picture. The metal placard reads Reisearlikel-Fabrik Gebr. Locher Zurich. The top has stenciled letters FRAGILE A.D. NEW YORK. It has solid brass hardware with patina on the escucheon. There are 2 wooden bent straps around the middle and the edge reinforcements seem to be made of leather. A blue and white nautical flag is on the front and sides. It weighs about 45 lbs.

The trunk has very ornate tin floral sheeting across the top and the outside panels of the trunk. This trunk is in good condition. With wear co nsistant with age. Trunk does not lock. A n d key is not included. The leather s trap handles have deteriorated with age and have torn and frayed. But are still attached. The inside of the trunk is papered with a patterned paper and has a colorful border as well as a large sticker. Alligator Embossed Steamer Trunk 1890-1910 This is a versatile and attractive trunk from the turn of the century. A solidly constructed steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed alligator tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 34 inches wide, 19 inches front to back, and 22.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with hardwood slats across the top and two slats on the front and back. It has new thick black leather handles and a new lid stay– otherwise in original condition. The alligator pattern has been refinished in a rich. Reddish brown that is darker than it may appear in the flash photos. Although there is no evidence of its manufacturer. Antique Wooden Painted Nautical Sailors Fishing Chest Trunk Box 1800's Steamer
This is an AMAZING antique fishing chest. I think it's late 1800's maybe really early 1900's. when I purchased it there was a bunch of old salt water fishing hooks and a sting ray barb& other cool stuff in it! One of the almost completely deteriorated paper boxes of hooks read 1910 on it, so I know it's at least that old. There are awesome adjustable wooden cubby compartments on the inside& spots to put a rod on the inside upper lid. In the pictures I left some of the fishing stuff in there. But its cleaned out now. There are some amazing graphics on this chest. On the top of the chest is a nautical compass reading north east south and west, on the front under the latch(which is fully functional) are the initials F.D.JR. On the right side of the chest are three flags I'm not sure if these three flags identify the ... morearea in which it was made? maybe someone with nautical knowledge will know for sure. And on the left is an anchor with rope twisting around it. Im pretty sure these are all hand painted. Or super old decals. But I'm pretty sure there hand painted. The chest appears to have a sealant on the outside. Which I'm sure they would have done to help protect it from salt water. There are no major cracks in this chest. I have put no chemicals on it to clean it. Just a damp rag. Now a couple down sides to this beauty: the back hinges have rusted and broken.see pics) and on the sides it looks like there were a couple ropes screwed in to keep it on board? That are gone. Leather trimmed edges, brass hardware, and decorated canvas over a solid wood base. I could not find any makers labels but the lock has a French mark. Overall condition is good and sturdy. The interior has some loose material with minor losses, and marks from use. The canvas, with Victorian Panel decoration, is tight and shows small marks, scrapes, and stains. DONNELLY ANTIQUES this hard to find dresser trunk does not have a makers name but it is still in nice condition. there are 3 drawers. 2 large and 1 small. and a compartment above them that long long has its cover that would have been held down by the to snaps on the leather straps. it has normal wear for a item of this vintage, solid shiny black bottom no rust with for caster wheels.the drawers are complete solid bottoms, lining is intact. all of the extertior locks work as designed snapping the trunk tight. the lock is broken but should be easy to replace. the trunk is 34" wide, 22" deep, 27" tall when closed.
