The trunk bears the maker's mark(badge) on top over the lock: Henry Likly& Co. Makers. Rochester, NY, Established 1844, Trade Mark This is a Flat Top trunk. Which makes it particularly good for use as a coffee table. This is an older restoration and all the original hardware and materials are still there. The refinish is not perfect and still maintains much of the same appearance it did as when Henry Likly first delivered the trunk. It has been in a home that used it everyday and never left in storage not being used. This trunk originally came with Leather Straps. Fragments of which still remain. This trunk has Wooden(oak) Slats. Refinished and stained. The ... morelock is open and appears to be functional. But we don't have the key. The exterior surface of the trunk is fabric over wooden construction. The fabric is intact with a few rips or scuffs. The fabric has been sealed to stay bonded to the wood. The corners and some of the edges are metal bound. The metal has been recoated and looks great with the pings and dings from being around a 100 plus years. It's in typical condition with wear you would expect from a piece this age, although please note the side handles and front locking latch are long gone. There are original stickers on it from the cruise lines to Europe around ww1, railroad transport, etc. It has a flip up top for easy access to hangers with slide out extensions. The right side features a set of wooden hangers that swing out for easy access to all your clothes plus two more small shelves for hanging trousers or locking larger items into the lower portion of the trunk. Free local pick-up only. From a local M id S outh E state. this Antique Flat Top Steamer/ Travel TRUNK made between 1880 and 1920. After 1920. As trunks became mass-produced they were labeled with the"makers mark" Measures 36" length x 24 1/2" height x 21" width. This is a solid piece; all metal strapping, corner bindings& hardware is intact. The wood parts of the trunks structure are time worn but intact as well. The YALE lock is intact but there is no key. The two leather side carry straps have long since torn away- easy to replace with an old leather belt. Seldom found are the 2 interior trays that appear to be original to this piece. The top tray(photos#8& 9) has finger-hole lifts at each end; measures 33 1/2 length x 18" width x 4" depth. The tray flap-over lid is secured via 3 hinges on one ... moreside. The other would have been secured via the leather snap straps but again the leather has deteriorated away. The 2nd tray(photo#10) has what appears to be some sort of textile handle-straps to lift it out with; measures 35" length x 13 3/4" width x 7 1/2" deep. The interior of the trunk measures 19 1/2" overall depth. Understand that this truck is close to 100 years old and therefore smells old as well. Both the interior and the exterior of this trunk are genuinely time worn. A beautiful old aged piece as is or restore and make it your own. Antique Curved Alligator Like Hammered Tin Top Saratoga Trunk Offering you beautiful curved Dome top trunk. This trunk once was quite an expensive beauty. The curved top. Plentiful nails and amazing-fine hardware makes this a high-end piece, often known as a Saratoga Trunk. The reason for the curved top is to ensure that this trunk would go on the top of the stack. Rather than having trunks stacked on top of it, damaging the contents. I have not altered or refinished this trunk. I purchased it from a lady who stated it was in the stable area of her very old, victorian home. The home was built in the early 1900's. INSIDE: I believe it is constructed of Pine with a floral paper design. Which means this trunk belonged to a Woman. OUTSIDE: Has a dark metal/tin tone. 4) wooden, Elm? vertical slats on the dome top, 2) horizontal wooden slats ... moreon the front& back, 1) wooden slat on each side. There is a 16" wide Alligator Leather look design area on the top that extends down the front and back and along both sides that is divided by leather slats. I was told this design area is an ornate hammered tin. The metal work is very nice and when this trunk was new, must have been gorgeous. There are(8) metal shield type designs holding down the top wood slats. On the top side ends, there are large metal Crown like designs. There are(2) brown leather handles. 1 handle is torn but repairable. This trunk was definitely for a woman of importance. Approximate Dimensions: 22" High@ the highest-middle 32.5" Wide 17.5" Deep Condition: This trunk is in good antique condition. There is normal wear. Which is expected, due to it's age. The bottom inside does have a few minor cracking in the wood. There is not a lock on the trunk. All the nails& design hardware are there, as far as I can see. Antique Steamer Trunk 1900-1950, Eagle lock no. 410
This trunk is unique from other Steamer Trunks of the era. At some point 1 inch caster wheels were added for ease of transporting 3 are steel wheels, 1 is wood. The covered insert tray is still with the trunk as well. It has some flaws, but who would not at its age. The lock is manufactured by the Eagle Lock co of Terryville, Conn. U.S.A. no. 410. That is printing in the lid saying water proof, and a note written in pencil on the back top of the storage tray not to sell this trunk. It is a very nice piece. With the wheels it might even make a great coffee table. The size is 34" L x 21w x 24 3/4h with the wheels. Questions please contact us.

Beautiful Refinished Antique Flat Top Trunk with original Working Lock. Original key, and straps. Here at Trunks-n-treasures we take pride in the trunks that we have refinished for the past 8 years. We have refinished hundreds of trunks, each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very nice, clean refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside. We then removed the canvas from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This gorgeous trunk is made up of pine wood with oak slats. Once we removed the canvas we sanded all the wood and then applied tung oil as a finish. After much research we have found ... morethat by using tung oil, not only does it not leave such a strong odor as other finishes, but it also penetrates the wood preventing the wood from drying out so quickly. On this trunk are two new Amish leather handles and two new latches to keep the lid secure. Also on the lid of this trunk you will find the original trunk stay. This trunk also has the original working lock with the original key. Due to the age of the trunk, having both lock and key is a rarity. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has also been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk also has new leather straps to help keep the lid fastened and to bring back the originality of the trunk. Many trunks this age had straps such as those that we replaced to help keep items secured when traveling. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look and repainted the metal black. Antique Refinished Cabin Steamer Trunk - small nice size
This small trunk is darling. Recently refinished. It is rustic but shows great character and will offer great storage space for all your wonderful treasures. Wood on the outside and lined with a fresh light yellow cotton fabric, this old steamer trunk came from a barn in Western Massachusetts. The top has some age cracks but they have been firmed up on the inside. Originally canvas covered. The old green canvas was removed and the wood sanded smooth. It was treated with Golden Oak stain and Tung Oil, the finish is very nice, smooth flat and not shiny. Measurements are: 30 inches long. 17.5 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall. Great as a coffee table, or under a window for plants. As mentioned the inside is clean and ready to store your favorite collectibles. Antique creepy large steamer or clothes trunk! Perfect haunted prop or restore!
Large antique trunk.someone tried to paint it white and the paint is crumbling off. It kinda gives it a really cool and scary look maybe for a halloween prop. The inside is tattered and torn but the whole thing is rather sturdy. One of the pictures shows the unpainted bottom and it looks like the original color is a deep oak or cherry wood. It also has wheels and some groovy looking ornate metal or brass accents. Please use pictures to get a better idea.

Antique Steamer Trunk Goyard of Paris with Travel Stickers and all Hardware.
This is an antique steamer trunk by Goyard of Paris. It is perhaps from the 1930's based on the dates of the travel stickers. This trunk has a hinged lid design and has a brass center front closure and on two sides of the front. It has two brass handles. One on each end of the trunk. One end of the trunk has the owners single red initial“M” It has all its original brass hardware which is engraved with the Goyard logo. This Goyard trunk is composed of monogram leather coated canvas with brown wood trim and the lid is lined in ivory colored. With what I believe is, toile fabric. This trunk comes with the original tray but not the key. It has traveled the world in style during the 1930's as indicated by the travel stickers. One is from Germany, another from Paris. Still has the original paper label from the READING STEAMER TRUNK COMPANY, the makers of the trunk. Includes key that operates the lock correctly. But the lock latch bows outward from body of trunk. I haven't attempted to push the lock mechanism in to see if the lock latches the entire trunk, leaving that for the new owner to decide what to do. Side latches function correctly, securing the lid. All hardware appears to be intact and complete. Leather side handle straps are intact and secure, but they do have lots of surface cracking wear. Green and Black trunk with wood details. Beautiful old trunk with an organizer/insert. I believe this trunk is wood with tin or another metal that has a decorative pattern. On the inside lid is a beautiful image of a woman riding a horse. It measures about 26'x15'x14' As you can see from the pictures the handles are broken/no longer there. Also one hinge has came apart. But you are still able to open and close this. Up for auction is this gorgeous. Large, 36x22x36(LxWxH) antique, steamer trunk that has been completely refinished. I have been refinishing trunks for about 10yrs now and this is the finest I have seen. Truly spectactular from every angle and made just as well as you will find anywhere. Every slat has the extra steel on it for extra protection. Every edge has ornate scrolling hardware. The lock is the best with a good working key. this is a family steamer trunk handed down three generations to the fourth. it needs a really good caring home now. has included a belts gloves and or assesories tray which sits on top of goods underneath before closing the trunks lid. always has lived indoors at a climate controled temperature. This wood trunk has metal panels with raised flower pattern and 4 leaf clover accents. panels are different colors green on 1 panel sides have green on raised flower pattern with white back ground also some of the panel are tinted a copper color. the latches and hindges in good working order. leather handle are missing. 30" wide 20" high and 17" front to back and weighs 35Lbs. Large Square ANTIQUE Flat Top Vintage Steamer Trunk
This is a Beautiful Antique Square Steamer Trunk in Excellent condition. It still has the original tray insert. Very rare. Generaly they are missing. There are no major tears or gouges. No breaks. There is a stain on the material in the inside upper corner. All of the latches work but one is missing two of the original rivets and is slightly bent. Measures approx. 20" square x 16 1/2" T.
