Old advertisements for this ... moretrunk can be found from the 1918s! This trunk is close to 100 years old! The hinges on the lid are still in good condition and workable. The flip-down locks on the front are stiff but open and close well. The center lock no longer works- looks like someone had to"break and enter" as it is slightly bent and the lock mechanism is missing. There are heavy leather handles on the side that are still in very good condition. Above these handles are eye hooks to attach and hold the trunk still. There are decorative rivets holding the steel in place on all the edges. It looks like a few of them have been replaced over the years. All the outside hardware has rust on it. The black outside material is canvas-leather like. Not sure what it is but there are some rips and showing underneath is wood.There are small holes on the sides and bottom. Maybe this was used for bootlegging at one time? It looks like the bottom could have been nailed down to something as there are small nails that stick up on the inside. Neat old black and white wallpaper type material on the inside of the lid and in the three cubby-holes on the right side. Very spacious measuring approx. 29" long x 15" high. The largest space on the inside measures 24" wide x 11" Each of the cubbyhole spaces measures approx. 4" x 3 1/4 to 3 3/4" with the center space being the smallest. The inside is lined in a canvas type material. I will say there is a very strong mildew smell on the inside. It is dirty inside too- this is definately in need of some TLC! It looks like someone added leather and snaps to the inside of the lid to hold things.the leather is light colored and newer looking. One of these straps is broken. The original leather strap that holds the lid open is scuffed and worn but still works for the purpose. Overall this is a nice vintage trunk with a condition commensurat

The trunk itself is in good condition, structurally, although I am unsure of its actual age. The trunk has gotton wet at some point, and the moisture damage and staining goes all the way through to the inside of the trunk. The covering on the outside of the trunk is worn, torn, and coming off in this area as well. The trunk has a hinged lid, and the original lining is still inside the bottom portion of the trunk. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice olive green covering that is mainly intact, except for the aforementioned area, and metal reinforced seams.

Antique Vintage 1920s Small Size Doll Size Metal Flat Top Steamer Trunk
This is a really nice vintage/ antique circa 1920s small metal doll size flat top steamer trunk for doll clothes or doll accessories. The finish is bright and shiny. The trunk is black and the metal trim is a purple swirl. This trunk is in great condition for its age. It looks like one of the leather straps may have been repaired. There is no key for the lock. Please view the pictures they will help in the description of the trunk. The trunk is made of metal with a paper lining. Measures approx 10" long, 6" tall, 6" deep. Antique Trunk Hardware-Leather Handles-2 straps, 4 Metal ends-& fasteners-YA
Two chestnut color leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 81/2 inches long. Thickness is 1/4" Four brass plated metal strap ends primed and painted black. 1" long split head brass tacks to nail the leather to the trunk. Tacks are to be placed two per end under the position of the metal strap ends in a verticle position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Split head tacks 3/4" are to fasten the metal strap ends. The handles measure approx 10 1/2" metal end to metal end with the handle loop but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. free postage

Dome top steamer chest/trunk. Bride or wedding trunk, or ship/stagecoach travel trunk. Of wood and metal construction, metal embossed outer layer, wood slat trim, most of the original antique hardware embellishments, a number of the pieces stamped Pat Mar 168(the final number of the patent year didn’t make it onto the hardware, but still indicates the patent dates back to the 1600’s! All the interior compartments are intact. With original linen-type covering over the compartment lids, with original pictorial lithographs and elaborate borders. Original graphic paper lining also intact on the underside of the compartment lids and the bottom section of the trunk– see condition in photos. The spots of discoloration in places may be rust coming through from the metal; bidder to determine. There are 5 compartments in the upper section– two in the ... morelid, and 3 in the top tray which includes one long compartment across the back(try to ignore the glaring blue felt lining in the compartments and bottom of the trunk, but note that I did not lift it to see what’s underneath) Please check all views of the photos for condition of the outer embossed skin/metal/wood(a few dents and splits in the metal but I didn’t see missing sections anywhere) Missing or replaced hardware(looks like a few pieces are missing, the lower front latch may be replaced, leather strap handles replaced and/or missing hardware? maybe some nails/studs replaced– overall minor in my opinion, but I want bidders to review closely and make their own determination) Overall this is in very solid condition, just has the wear and tear and aging of travel and usage. This trunk is in very solid shape, nothing broken on it, except for a small part(almost 3' of the metal trim that hangs from the edge of the trunks lid, at the end where it meets the back of the trunk, when closed, must have broke off(Sorry, I don't know the name for it, Feel free to ask for a close-up photo) Trunk is missing leather handles, key to lock, 1 of the 4 wheels, and obviously the lids to the tray compartments. Everything on it functions properly(hinges, Clamps, etc) lithograph is still intact(picture of a young girl with 3 kittens in a basket) tray is in great shape(has a small hole where there was a wood knot) all the wood slats are present and in good condition, and no missing nails or hardware. I am selling off some of my mom's large doll collection and this is a cute little doll trunk that could use some TLC. It's about 13" tall. 7" wide and 7" across. It has brass hinges, fasteners and corner pieces, it also has green metal trim along the edges. The outside is a red pattern-I think it looks like paper or leather over wood. The inside seems to be covered with a red patterned paper. There is a hole cut out of the back. It looks to me like it's been exposed to water, the back seems a bit warped. Antique Vintage Doll Trunk 14.5" tall Metal
I am selling some of my mom's large collection. And this cute little doll trunk looks like it's seen some rough travels. It appears to be metal over wood, and it looks like it might have been lying in water-the back is kind of rusted and warped and the inside back looks water stained. The inside front is still lined with a red flowered paper. It has brass hardware, although the back hinges are broken, so the two halves come apart. It has black metal trim along the edges. it's 14.5" tall, 7.5" deep and 8" wide. Could be a nice addition to your collection with some TLC. Antique Wood Chest Small Trunk Fabric Covered Worcester Metal Goods Co. Lock Key
The box measures 15.5" x 8.5" x 7.5" and is in good condition for its age. I do not know the maker of the box but the hardware is made by Worcester Metal Goods Co. It is very sturdy and the hinges are holding up well. The fabric is very soft but I am not sure what material it is. It is tearing at some of the edges but is mostly intact. It looks like only one nail is missing and I think it just held the fabric in the corner in place. All of the rivets for the hardware are original and intact. The lock is a little tight but it works well and has the key. The inside feels similar to wallpaper and has some wear and discoloring but is in pretty good shape. Feel free to ask questions. With a very small wheel at each base. The casters are approx 3.25" long, and the wheels are 1/2" in diameter. All of the wheels are solid, and turn freely. Condition is very good, with one showing a small hairline crack at a corner. These are quite old, with a worn patent date from the later 1800s, and there may be some spot rust found in crevises. They are not cast at 90 degree angles, but a little larger, almost for a tapered trunk side. These casters are ready for use, and will be welcome additions to your project or parts collection. Trunk's heavy duty hinges and hasp bound by rivets are better suited for a strong box. Four small iron bun feet are bolted to the bottom of trunk. Measures: 21" tall. 32.5" wide, and 19" deep. Beautiful antique trunk. I had someone online look at pictures and he estimated it was from about 1890. The research I have done myself leads me to believe it was made between 1870-1890. It is made of wood and covered in leather. I believe that it's pine but I could be wrong. There are metal bands across the top and around the edges. Please see pictures this truck is old and has plenty of bumps and bruises. The leather handle straps are missing and there are several patches of leather missing on the top and front. There is also a crack in the lid. It definitely needs some TLC but is still beautiful and has tons of rustic charm. There is paper lining the inside that is torn and has some spots. There are 3/4” wide metal bands across the dome& down the front of the trunk& 1 end of the back; there are 7/8” metal bands around the bottom of the lid’s front& sides as well as both top ends of the lid’s back& 1 lower end of the trunk’s back. ... moreAll the straps. Painted flat black, have 5/8” round tin disks with beaded edges spaced as accents or ornaments, 4 on either side of the top& front with only 1 lost on the back part of the lid. There are also 5 grooved strips of wood added, 3 on top& 1 on the front& back at the middle, all fastened on with thin ornamental tin brackets of sorts. A third of the front’s strip is lost as is that end’s fastener. These wood trim pieces each have 2 of the round beaded accents used on the black bands. The front’s lock is still here, but it has no key; above the lock is the upper part of a latch. There are also 2 round metal disks on the dome, 1 on the front section& 1 on the back; these slightly thicker ornaments have a plain raised rounded edge with a center flower of 6 small round petals. The trunk’s 2 original leather straps are gone, but their metal end holders are still here; I’m glad, especially because each has a raised union shield of stars& bars with other stars under the shields. Antique Wood & Metal Flat Top Trunk- Lots of Hardware- Refinished
Super looking old travel trunk completely refinished. Measures 14" tall; 40 1/2" wide and 22" front to back. Good size for a coffee table- if you need taller could put rollers on bottom or put it on a frame. Has 2 coats of stain; one coat of poly for easy cleaning; new leather handles; new interior wallpaper. At one time it had leather straps all the way around- still has all the hardware but only has bottom part of straps on front. They just seemed to get in the way. Antique Haunted Shwayder Steampunk Steamer Trunk with Contents This is a very unique and rare auction. You are bidding on an antique trunk and its' contents. A trunk with a very unusual story. Several years ago I purchased a rustic. Old cabin built in 1901 in the woods of the Colorado mountains. There is nothing'normal' about this cabin. One day, as I was getting my furnace updated in the crawlspace, the repairman informed me that there might be an older furnace in the depths of the crawlspace. Curiously, I shimmied my way into the tiny area and came across an old steamer trunk. My hairs stood on end. It was closed but not locked. When I cautiously opened it, I found a few things inside but nothing unusual. I brought those items inside, cleaned them up and placed them on a shelf. As time went by I noticed sounds emitting from ... morethe crawlspace. Not thinking anything of it, I continued on with my days. Then, on one unusual day, I was getting my holding tank pumped out by a new crew of men. One of the fellows mentioned that he heard some noise, a banging sound from the crawlspace and asked me what was down there. I remembered the noises I had heard previously but didn't mention it to him. He then asked me if I would be willing to get my cabin tested for paranormal activity. Apparently, this is something he does on the side. Feeling my hairs stand on end I refused his offer as the last thing I wanted to find out is that there WAS something'paranormal' going on in the space that I lived in! After the men left, I crawled down to the depths of the dusty crawlspace and was shocked to find that the trunk had MOVED! Not only was it in a different spot but it was also laying on its' side, just as you see it in the photos. You may be wondering why I had left the trunk down there. The reason being is that I could NOT get it out! It just physically could not fit through any opening. As if the old cabin was build right over it. And that is a curious mystery on its' own.
