Beautifully Carved Antique English Oak Coffer Blanket Box Chest
Beautifully Carved Antique English Oak Coffer Three front raised panels are elegantly carved with fine acanthus leaf motif. The 7/8" solid top is made with breadboard ends. The 1" thick sides are panelled and beaded. The back consists of two reverse-raised panels in a 1" thick frame. The skirted bottom conceals a set of four small metal casters. The inside is all open. This piece shows beautiful rich dark brown patina throughout. This coffer took some considerable skill to build and. Although it is an antique with the usual slight bumps, it's excellent condition reflects the care with which this piece was crafted and treated through the years. The hinges and locking mechanism(no key) are solid brass. The top shows a couple of age cracks that are normal for a piece of this vintage. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. The trays are intact and sturdy. The chest measures aproximately 26" deep. 26" high, and 42" long. There are 4 wrought-iron handles. 2 in front and 2 in back, which are used to pick up the chest. The bottom locking mechanism insert is present. The top part of the lock is missing. There are hole openings in the top where the lock and handles could have been. Here for sale is an old iron lock with its original working key suitable to use on an old pine blanket box or trunk. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide. 2 1/2 inches high and 3/4 inch depth. The measurement from the top face to the centre of the key is 1 1/4 inch. The key measures 2 5/8 inches long. The main body of the lock housing the workings is 7/16 inch thick. The top face is 3/4 inch. Please note. The receiver isn't the original to the lock. It fits fine but when locked it doesn't lock tight. I have taked a picture of it upside down to show the small gap when locked.

This old machinists or dental box was a recent estate purchase. It was found in central Illinois on a farm that was having a sale. I was told that it belonged to a cash register repair man.cool. I thought it was a medical case and hoped it was full when I picked it up.sadly I was told it only had springs and gears in it at one time. This item is 14" by 10" by 8" deep. It is leather wrapped with metal corner guards. The leather is nice with normal signs of use here and there.nothing major. The lock does not work and that area shows signs of being pried open. Chippendale Antique Carved Ball Claw Foot Block Front Chest of Drawers Dresser

Description: This listing is for a 20th Century Benchmade Chippendale Style Shell Carved Block Front Chest of Drawers over Ball and Claw Feet. This is an absolutely stunning work of art with attention shown in every detail of the case. The entire case is solid mahogany. With carefully selected grains that produce a glowing fire throughout. The rim is ruled around the front and sides over a top drawer with a gallery of three carved shells over the blocked encasements below. The two outmost shells are convex, carved out of solid mahogany, each flanking the concave central shell with a keyhole in the middle. The drawer has an incredible thick facade and, uniquely, no hardware- the key is meant to act as the pull hardware, the craftsman ... morenot wanting to distract from the shell carvings by adding hardware. The three following drawers feature incredible blocking over shaped molding that flows with the outline of the chest. Each drawer is hand dovetailed at the front and back, the top drawer having a single solid board bottom, each other drawer being two board construction. The case rests over incredible hand carved ball and claw feet, each flawlessly formed with detail in every joint, muscle and stretched nail. The back two feet are carved only in the front, much in the nature of the period chests, where an absence of any mechanical device meant everything was crafted by hand- the craftsman would regularly look for ways to reduce finishing work without detracting from the overall result of the case, as our craftsman did in this chest by leaving the back of the back feet unformed. This is one of the most precise and beautiful block front reproductions we've come across. Advertising lettering is embossed and reads; From the Land of Blue Sky Waters" Has an aluminum interior and it reads on the inside of the lid"Quality Cronstroms Service- Cronstroms Manufacturing- Minneapolis. Minnesota" Metal exterior with aluminum interior.Approximately 19" wide x 10" deep x 13" tall. In overall great condition for its age, it is painted in bright colors, not faded. As you can see from the photos the bottom has some holes. The bottom is rusted. The one side there is a dent towards the top but lid closes fine. The drain cap is missing but the stem and chain is present. The lettering is in excellent condition with minimal scratches.

Antique Eastern European Hungarian Wedding Blanket Chest Carved Painted C.1853
Rustic and primitive. This antique wedding chest is a true gem. With original iron hardware, and lightly carved detail, this pine chest dates to around 1850. The face of the chest features two carved panels with exquisite geometric detail. There are painted elements ensconced in a wreath motif, but we are not able to decipher the original image. The craved detail is also featured on the top of the lid, along with the fasteners for the original iron hardware. The lid lifts to reveal a pine interior. The interior surface of the lid gives clues to the life and history of this unique piece. There are pencil marks and writing in what appears to be Hungarian. We also found the remnant of a decal with the word'szivem' on it. Szivem translates from Hungarian to English as'my dear one. fitting for a marriage chest. The lid is also marked ... morewith the years 1853, 1856, 1861, and 1867. Perhaps the notations were made as the piece changed hands? We believe this to be the original paint. It had a blue gray surface hue. With bittersweet side panels. This folk art piece is in fair to good condition. It is structurally sound, though shows its age through cosmetic issues like worn sides and deterioration of the painted surface. While the hinges and side handles are original, the center lock is no longer in place. The chest measures 35" in length. 17" in height, and has a depth of about 20 1/2" We are offering this piece for'local pickup only. Nice Refinished Dome Arch Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/ Working Lock & Key
Nice Refinished Antique Arched Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key Here is a nice refinished primitive steamer trunk or travel trunk from the mid to late 1800's. It has the following dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 1 7 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 15 inches. This one has a very slight dome to the top. The trunk appears to be made up of pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. There are plenty of older stress marks on the wood. These older markings include nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. Some of the wood that makes up this trunk is rough cut and you can still see the saw blade marks on the wood. We have shown a picture of this on the top. The top center slat ... moreboard has been replaced with an old board off of a parts trunk. The two original slat boards on the top have grooves at the outer edge. The replacement one does not. There is a very small piece of the upper slat board missing at the front left side. It's not a big deal. We just thought we should mention it. If you look closely at the top view picture, you can see what we are talking about. This trunk has a working lock. The lower part of the lock is brass and original to this trunk. The upper part that goes into the lock is off of a parts trunk. We have matched up a key that does work with this lock so you can store your belongings away under lock and key if you want to. The metal parts that are not brass have been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior. We have finished the interior wood with two coats of polyurethane. There are some typical stress cracks running across the bottom. Charming Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key Here is a lovely refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 13 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 inches. This nice trunk consists of poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older distress marks which include nicks and dings mostly concentrated on to the outer slat boards. And a couple of hairline stress cracks in the base wood. This one comes with the original working lock. We have matched up a key that does activate the lock mechanism. The front two latches are original and do work properly since the ... moresprings are intact. The metal parts which make up this trunk are not brass and have there been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles were missing. Someone had drilled small holes in the wood and run rope through these holes to make handles for this trunk. They were rather lousy looking, so we have removed those handles and installed a pair of nice Amish made black leather stitched handles where these rope ones were. These handles are sturdy. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining which was worn out looking and finished the wood with two coats of polyurethane. A nice trunk maker's style picture of a Victorian woman standing in a boat on a pond has been added to the underside of the top. The exterior bottom has normal wear and we have finished the bottom to make it overall cleaner. This trunk could be used as a low coffee table, tv/stereo stand, and/or a storage chest anywhere in your home where storage space is needed. On the bottom of the box is stamped Fact. no. 584 1st dist. of Pa. 1oo The cigars herein contained were manufactured to retail fro not more than five cents each and are so tax-paid. Notice the manufacturer of the cigars herein contained has complied with all the requirements of law. I can not read the rest very good but has something to do with penalties of law. I believe that this was once a display case in a store. Family that lived in this estate did at one time own a general pharmacy around 1900. This is a box that looks like an old chest. It is decorative. There is a deer or stag on the top. I don't know if that is just decorative or if it signifies the type of cigars. The box is dovetailed. It measures almost 12 inches by almost 7 inches by 5 inches in height.The ... morebox is made of cedar and has a nice cedar smell. The lining of the box is mitered wood that appears to be a different kind of wood and is loose and can be removed. It is a very nicely made box or chest. The condition is very good there is some crackling of the finish on the top. The deer has been etched into the wood and then gold applied.

It features a beautiful beveled rectangular mirror with a fluted tilting frame that has two lovely finials on top and it is held by two beautiful turnings also with finials on top. The mirror is in very good condition for its age even though it has very small flaws which are barely noticeable. And it tends to lean forward but it may be easily repaired or just have it leaned against a wall as displayed in the pictures. The top surface is in very good condition and it has two small convenient jewelry drawers with small lovely handles. This vanity has four well constructed drawers with dovetail joinery and they have elegant raised beveled surfaces with attractive round wooden handles, and three of the drawers have pretty removable wrapping papers as liners. This chest may have some age appropriate scuffs, scratches, wood imperfections and light paint marks which are not distracting at all, otherwise it is overall in very good cosmetic and structural condition and it is strong and sturdy. This wooden carpenter's tool box was discovered at a small flea market in upper Bucks County Pennsylvania. Chock full of rusty-dirty charm. This box has outer strap hinges that were riveted on with brass. A set of strap hinges were added down the middle for added strength, these were fastened with antique wood screws. The bottom part of the padlock latch is attached to a modified strap hinge. The paint is chipped and chipping. There is an oil stain around the hinge of the padlock latch, someone penciled a circle on the lid*under* the handle- so the circle, apparently, is from before the handle was added.and that handle has been attached for a long time! Inside there is a tray with a hole cut out of it to accommodate some unknown tool of yester-year. The tray must have been made from an old crate as the word"GLASS" can still ... morebe seen stenciled on one board. On the outside. Below the lid, there is a thin notch, one can only wonder what function that notch was cut for. The often missing handles on the side are firmly attached with antique wood screws. Measures: 31. 15/16 inches wide- 9, 3/8 inches deep and 10, 1/2 inches tall. This box is sturdy with no loose screws. Inside the shelf is dirty, there are water stains on the bottom and inside. This amazing chest has medieval bar or pub scenes on four sides. There are three different scenes. The two sides have the same. Unique scene, the top and front have two different scenes. This old chest has great patina. With colors ranging from brass to blueish greens. Interior appears to be older cedar. The back has a round medallion with scalloped edges and the words: Made in England PPB. I've searched this mark but have not found a maker. Experts have looked this chest over and suggested it is most likely late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. The chest measures approx. 22" wide. 18.25" tall and 15.25" deep. The bottom ... morehas four holes, one in each corner, where someone probably attached caster wheels at one time. Some hardware has been upgraded, including the side handles. Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal and a working key. It measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. The wood slats sanded, stained with minwax"golden oak" then the entire trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. Up for sale is this antique victorian dome top steamer trunk made by M. M. Secor- The Great Northwestern Trunk and Traveling Bag Manufactory. It measures 31" long by 19" wide and 23" tall(no key) The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was hand sanded then sealed with two coats of spar urethane(light sand in between coats) The exterior has some character flaws from age. Missing handles and some missing trim but overall it is in good condition- very functional and solid. The interior of this trunk has been left in all original condition to keep some of it's history. The paper lining has some wear from age as pictured but overall it is in fair condition with no odor. VTG Antique Flat Top Black Trunk Chest Original Everlasting Hardware Blue Insert* Up for your consideration is a VTG Antique Flat Top Black Trunk Chest Original Everlasting Hardware Blue Insert. This trunk is in fairly good overall condition. I am not positive as to when this was made but the hardware is classic late 1800s hardware that i commonly see on a trunk like this. The insert here is really what stood out to me it is in very good condition. In fact probably the best trunk insert I have ever seen that was in original condition and not restored. The left side of the trunk on the exterior near the top rim there is a dent with a small hole where something hit the trunk it looks like. The interior has a few spots where the paper is starting to come off or are chipped and the ledges that the insert sets on is starting to separate from the ... moresides but nothing major and not loose. The trunk has I believe it's original owners name shown under the top and on the top of insert as shown in photos. This would make a great coffee table.
