Antique Vintage wood blanket chest trunk from 1800s
This beautiful solid pine trunk is from the late 1800's. It has the original hardware. Due to its age and material it has a little of the lower molding missing on one side(see photo 2) This is part of its charm. There are two small drawers inside the trunk. I found a nail. As pictured, in the drawer and similar ones in the chest itself showing its age. There is a crack that runs across P art the top of the trunk but doesn't affect its use. Lid closes and o pens. It is sturdy enough to be carried by the handles and a solid piece. No water damage. It would be a great coffee table or blanket chest. The patina is nice and its a beautiful piece from the past. EXTRAORDINARY PAINTED ANTIQUE SWEDISH BLANKET BRIDE'S DOWRY CHEST Offering an exceptional antique Swedish bride's box(or blanket chest or dowry chest) dating to at least the early 1800's. Painted on three sides with a beautiful traditional floral motif. I believe at least the ends have been painted with a vinegaring technique. The box is probably made of pine and the top is cracked, appears to have been repaired(maybe with a bit of putty? in a couple of places, and has damage at the corners. The hinges are newer but the original early 1800's metal straps are still intact, as are the handles at either end, and there are the best reenforcing metal pieces at the corners. This box is on a footed piece that wraps all the way around and may be newer. Antique ornately carved blanket chest.
Here is a great old small carved blanket chest. It is quite unusual in design and I have never seen one like it. And I doubt if the reader has either! Please see all the pictures! It measures 32"W x 20 1/8"D x 32 1/2"W. The inside dimensions are 28" W x 16"D x 8"H. There are normal signs of antique wear and there is an age crack across the decorative back panel. There is also an age crack that runs across the lift up door. There is a ring to pull open the top. But it is loose and needs to be glued in. I am sorry I am not sure what type of wood this is made of, but its a fairly heavy hardwood. This chest has been painstakingly carved by a craftsman. I am not sure of its exact age, but I do know its old and originated somewhere in the western U.S. I know this because 25 years ago I paid to have it shipped here ... moreto the east coast} and the original owner had it for many many years before that. Antique Indian or Buggy Sleigh Lap Blanket Genuine Horse or Pony Fur
66" by 66" inches. High quality Genuine Horse or Pony Fur and Wool Backing Indian/ Buggy Blanket. The fur is very soft with soft tips. I picked this up at an Old Indian Trading Post that went out of business in the Upper Peninsula Michigan. The very light spots are from sunlight coming through the trees in the backyard. The fur is in consistent good condition except with a couple of small moth holes.The back is a thick dark Green wool felt and is scalloped on the edges with pinking shears. The blanket is hand sewn to secure the wool to the fur and makes for a nice finish. I believe it to be an Indian or Buggy Blanket made for use on the Reservation or for tourist trade. It measures 58"x62" with an additional 3" of fringe all around. Was told this was Civil War era but not sure. Definitely has age to it. Has a leaf pattern and is reversible. Blanket is in good condition. Didn't see any damage however there is some staining in the middle of the blanket. If you look at the picture that shows the grey side you will see it in the middle. It measure 65" long and is an extra long 158" The color is cream white and it has very short fringe on each end. With three narrow pink stripes, a wide pink stripe and three more narrow stripes on each end and a double grouping of stripes in the center. Because of the length. I am dating to 1870-1880 but please be your best judge. Condition is very good. It got a couple of rust spots from age here and there but nothing to detract. Offered is a genuine early Hudson Bay 4 Point Blanket measuring 60"x84" 5 ft x 7ft) in excellent condition with no holes. Tears, or stains. I'd date this to the early 20th c. Around the Depression Era. It's in remarkably good condition. Early fur traders who explored the vast country used the short woven lines, called points, to indicate the price to be paid by the Indians for a blanket– four points, four beaver pelts and so on. Today the points indicate approximate weight and size: 4 points, about 6 lbs. is double; 6 points, about 8 lbs. is queen size; 8 points, about 10 lbs. is king size. These pure virgin wool blankets are regarded as precious heirlooms to be handed down and treasured from one generation to the next. Dry-clean only. Made in England. Thank you.

Antique Vtg Red Cedar Blanket Hope Chest Bedroom Furniture storage CEDAR CHEST
I have up for sale a very nice vintage original circa 1920s- 40s Cedar Chest. The chest is in very clean original condition! It measures approx 45-1/4" long. 20" deep, approx 19-1/2" tall which includes the 1" castor height. The chest is in Excellent Condition- nice clean original finish- strong& sturdy- has a flat top which would be strong enough to sit on- that is unless you are over 300 lbs then I would not advise it. Some normal light age wear as one would expect. The only damage to note is a fairly inconspicuous chip/ slivered off piece- located on the front lower right. Shown up close in pics 10& 12. This is not something that is very noticeable at all, the sliver was done many years back and it has been stained over and the only way you will notice it, is if you look upclose with scrutiny. There is some ... moreslight wear to the metal bands, but its very light- nothing serious. The hinge works perfectly and the little metal elbow for holding the top up, when opened,works just fine. I do not have the key for the lock and not sure if the lock works. I salvaged some more early homespun wool and am offering them in bundles. These were an awesome discovery. Very very early& so primitive. I purchased a tattered brown early quilt at auction with the hopes of restoring it. The fabric would literally shatter in my hand so I knew it would be difficult to ever bring it back to life. As I started to pick through it I found these wonderful early linen/wool blanket fragments buried inside. I was in awe, literal disbelief.the quilt itself was early so these are probably even older as they tended to make due with what they had. My hunch is pre 1850 on these. If you are an antique lover. This is a must-have. It is totally handmade, hand embroidered. It is a cover for a baby crib. It measures 41 inches by 41 inches, is made of wonderful soft 100% cotton. There are different pictures hand embroidered on it and each one is separated by feather stitch embroidery. It is geared toward a girl though, most of the pictures that aren't animals are of girls. In the very center is a floral design with the letter"S" in the center. ANTIQUE WALNUT BLANKET CHEST FROM THE 1700'S RESTORED
I was told blanket chest was brought from Connecticut to Ohio in the 1700's on an ox cart. It had a lot of paint on it when I got it. They wanted a small fortune to strip it so I did it. I've been refinishing antique furniture for years. I put a lot of time into it because I think this chest is so special. There was the old blue paint under the green and black and some of it remained in the wood. I hoped it would show through the varnish but it just gives it this great look. A back strip of wood was added through the years and the hinge placement was changed. I don't change these things, it's part of it's history, you just have to be careful not to swing the back too far. It could set close to a wall or a safety hinge could be put on. This lovely antique throw is from an auction of someone's estate and most of the other textiles from this estate were from the late 1800's and the early 1900's. That is about all that I know about this item.it looks like cross stitch all over. But it might be the weave of the blanket. There is embroidery on the top surface of the throw. It is in fairly good condition with some stains, some fading, raggedy edges on the edge trim, and an occasional pull. It is rare, I think. Any info would be welcome! The coverlet is approximately 56" x 60"

It is layers of pure silk in a baby pink color. The top is fine silk with an interfacing inside, the back is also made of silk. The edges are bound with baby blue silk and have a fancy embroidery stitch all the way around. In the center is a beautiful embroidered basket of flowers, this is exquisitely done; embellished with French knots and fancy stitches, in shades of blue, pink and lavender. The basket is about 9 1/2" high with flowers draping to the sides about 9" wide. The blanket overall is about 28 x 28" Excellent condition, clean, no tears, no splits in the silk, the silk is sturdy; there are a couple of very small light spots ... moreonly.
