Holding a bunch of roses and a crucifix. The portrait is based on the sculptures by Father Marie-Bernard which were created from the 1920s onwards. The reverse is blank. There is a jump ring in the bail. Saint Teresa's image is always connected with roses. As she prophesied"After my death I will let fall a shower of roses" Teresa Martin was born in 1873 and joined the Carmelite nuns along with several of her sisters. She died of consumption at the young age of 24 in 1897. She was beatified in 1923 and canonised in 1925. So the medal is probably some time after that date as she is pictured with a halo. The medal, which measures 1 and 1/4 inches high including bail(3 cm) weighs 4.2 gm. There is a raised triangular mark on the bail, which is possibly the foundry or the maker's mark. Vintage Print St. Therese Lisieux Little Flower w Crucifix Old Frame Tinted
This framed. Vintage print of St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, measures 6 13/16" W x 8 13/16"L, including the frame. St. Therese is holding a spray of roses and the crucifix. The leaves are green. And there is blue in her veil. The rest of the print is black and white. Marked on back of print: Made in Germany. The frame is not marked. The print is mostly solid. But does have wear: wear around front edges to about 1/8" in, pressed lightly from frame; two tack holes at top corners. About 1/4" in; several tiny dark spots on image. Back of print has wear, including tiny, raised dark spots. The old frame is dark green with gold accents. And has a lovely patina. Sides are gold. Inside border of frame the green paint is rough and a bit mottled. The gold paint on the sides of the frame has overall dark smudges or stains. ... moreOn the back. RARE: Exhibition Poster by Carmelite Convent Lisieux Saint Therese of Lisieux
Last year I visited the Sanctuary of Lisieux. France, Saint Therese' Carmelite Convent, etc. and at the time they were sponsoring an exhibition of all things from her life, even the crucifix Panzani kissed before being hanged! I was fortunate to meet the nun orgnaizing the exhibition and she got permission to sell me one of the few posters announcing the exhibit. When I got back to the US I had it laminated and was about to have it framed when we are moving to a much smaller house and I have no room to hang it so rather than store it I have decided to sell it hopefully to a devotee of Saint Therese. It measures 16.5 inches high x 11.5 inches wide. It is in excellent condition except for a small crease that will flat out when framed, any question please contact me. My late mother visited Lisieux. France. While there she purchased this beautiful candleabra(not sure what kind of metal it is) with a plastic candle holder depicting the pictures of the two blessed, I have never seen a piece like this since, The candle on either side that are lighted in the picture are NOT included in the auction as they are almost burnt down to the bottom. I have included pictures she took at the Basicila of St. Therese in Lisieux and the burial site of Louis and Zelie on the grounds of the Basicila until they were exhumed during the beatification process and placed in the crypt of the basicila where they are venerated today(pictures not included in this auction but if the winner wants them I will send as attachments in an email.

Estate Sale Find: RARE Saint Therese of Lisieux Reliquary with Relic, wax seal!
This beautiful. Very rare relic with statue reliquary of Saint Therese of Lisieux was obtained at an estate sale of an elderly French lady in Westchester County, New York. The relic is a piece of the original coffin Saint Therese was buried in 1897, in 1918 her body was exhumed and the original wood coffin was replaced by a metal one. The reliquary itself is metal, says made in France on back and measure 6 inch high, wax seal intact. The auction is only for the reliquary and relic, not the pictures in some of the pictures. Sorry my camera takes only blurry pictures up close, anything blurry is clear in person.

On the pictures you can see this medal inside of a cream color celluloid holder. There are so many things that I want to tell you about this beautiful plaque. For the lack of calling it anything other then what I see. The big medallion in the centre is made of silver plated brass. It is signed by J. M. Bernard. I want to point out is that there is a high raised relief on this medal and it is making it all the more appealing then any other medal that I have seen of St.Therese. This is an antique/vintage medal of St. Therese. The medal displays an image of St. Therese on the obverse-side. While on the reverse-side, the Carmelite coat of arms can be seen, along with the falling Roses from heaven that St. Therese said she would let rain from heaven. Overall, this medal is in fair condition for its age in my opinion, with a lot of character and signs of reverent use. The medal measures approximately 5/8 of an inch in diameter.

The case or Theca is made of brass that was once likely gilded; is has a loop on the back and may be worn as a pendant. It measures 1 5/16 inches across. The back my be removed to view the lead Vatican seal. The front piece is glass. St Teresiae Jesu Inf Lisieux was born January 2. 1873 at Alcon, Normandy, France as Francoise-Marie Therese Martin. She died on Thursday September 30, 1897 at Lisieux. France of tuberculosis. This is a memoriam card forMr. Edward Wallace who died on the 24th. of March 1951. The address given on the card is Lisieux. 278 Collins Avenue, which is in Dublin 9. Estate Sale Find: Framed picture St. Therese of Lisieux + St. Theophane Venard
This very rare framed picture of St. Therese of Lisieux with St. Theophane Vernard was obtained at the estate sale of a French lady in New York City. Her family thinks she got it in France many years ago. She had a devotion to both Saints thus this had great meaning to her. The picture itself is a composite as both Saints lived at different times but the pictures of each are authentic copys of actual pictures of both Saints, I dont understand French so can't understand the French in the picture. It is in a fairly inexpensive frame but its simplicity suits the reverence of the picture, it can be hung on wall or just against a wall like shown in the above pictures. Only the framed picture is part of this auction, the bust of St. Therese is not included. The frame measures 14 x 11 inches and can be hung on a wall or leaned upon a wall like ... morein the above pictures. At the top and bottom of the picture there is what seems to be a silk piece across the length of the picture, I assume this was put there for decorative purposes.

Vintage Mid Century or older Framed Print of St. Therese of Lisieux She was a French Saint(I've included more information on her towards the bottom) Beautifully Framed Religious wall art. There appears to be a slight bend in the print near the upper left part of the print. I didn't notice it until I held it in direct sunlight. Entire frame measures 16" by 20" Therese Martin was the last of nine children born to Louis and Zelie Martin on January 2. 1873, in Alencon, France. However, only five of these children lived to reach adulthood. Precocious and sensitive, Therese needed much attention. Her mother died when she was 4 years old. As a result, her father and sisters babied young Therese. She had a spirit that wanted everything. At the age of 14. On Christmas Eve in 1886, Therese had a conversion that transformed her life. ... moreFrom then on, her powerful energy and sensitive spirit were turned toward love, instead of keeping herself happy. At 15, she entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux to give her whole life to God. She took the religious name Sister Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. Living a hidden, simple life of prayer, she was gifted with great intimacy with God. Through sickness and dark nights of doubt and fear, she remained faithful to God, rooted in His merciful love. After a long struggle with tuberculosis, she died on September 30, 1897, at the age of 24. Her last words were the story of her life: My God, I love You! This is a collection of TWELVE touched relics. Scapulars and other sacramentals endorsed by the Roman Catholic Church. Most of these have leaflets, prayer cards or other explanatory material with them. There are six touched relics and they include: 1.Mother Catherine Aurelia of the Precious Blood: a medal of Mother Aurelia with relic on the reverse with her dates(1833-1905) This is enclosed in a small mylar envelope and stapled to a prayer card petitioning beatification of the saint. A laminated scapular in the shape of a heart from the Sisters of the Precious Blood is also included. 2.Blessed Marguerite D'Youville( 701-1771) Foundress of the Grey Nuns(Sisters of Charity) The third class relic is attached to the back of a four page leaflet in French. A FREE booklet in French with lovely sepia toned illustrations of the phases of the saint's ... morelife is included- as well as a prayer card with invocation by the saint to the Eternal Father. 3. St Marguerite Bourgeoys. Foundress of the Congregation de Notre Dame of Montreal. The relic is mounted on a small piece of cardboard and sealed by her Order on the back. A full color prayer card with inscription in French is also included. 4. Venerable Solanus Casey(1870-1957) holy Capuchin Franciscan friar whose cause for beatification is presently before Rome. It is an oval in scapular format with medium blue crochet edges- cloth touched to the tomb of the friar. A four page biographical leaflet accompanies the relic. 5. St Therese of Lisieux(Little Flower of Jesus) holy Carmelite nun who died at the age of only 24 and famed for her spirituality of the"Little Way' It is a sealed gilded metal plaque with piece of cloth touched to the relic of the Little Flower. A full color holy card of the saint is also included. 6. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. Canonized a saint by Pope John Paul II in the Millenium Year 2000. Titled on the lower left and signed with the initials on the lower right, Reverend Petit Family's inventory 80X, the watercolour that I had of Lisieux Cathedral was done in 1863, but his book on French churches came out in 1854, so I would date this as circa 1850! Although this drawing was not used. Please note this size as the digital image on your screen may be much larger or smaller than this! This is a beautiful original drawing showing a dramatic view of this Cathedral standing very tall! Lisieux Cathedral(Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Lisieux) is a former Roman Catholic cathedral. And a national monument of France, in Lisieux. Built between 1170 and the middle of the 13th century through the initiative of Bishop Arnulf, the cathedral ... morewas the seat of the Bishop of Lisieux until the diocese of Lisieux was abolished under the Concordat of 1801 and merged into the Diocese of Bayeux. Saint Thérèse of Lisieux(January 2. 1873– September 30, 1897) or Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, O.C.D. was a French Discalced Carmelite nun. She is popularly known as"The Little Flower of Jesus" or simply, The Little Flower" The source of the movement for the veneration of the relics of Saint Thérèseof the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face began in the cemetery of Lisieux shortly after her death on 30th September 1897. The body of Thérèse was exhumed in the cemetery on 6th September 1910, in the presence of the Bishop and about a hundred others. The remains were placed in a lead coffin and transferred to another tomb. A second exhumation took place on 9th 10th of August 1917. On 26th ... moreMarch 1923, the solemn transfer of the coffin from the cemetry to the chapel of the Carmel took place. The Beatification of Thérèse was pronounced in Rome on 29th April 1923.the Carmel, after the death of a sister, an obituary notice was written and sent to the Friends of the monastery. That of Thérèse of the Child Jesus was composed from the three autobiographical manuscripts that she had written out of obedience. Its success brought about the first edition of’Story of a Soul’ published 30/09/1898, 2000 copies, followed by a second edition in May 1899; 6000 copies in 1900. Translations followed, first into English in 1901, and then, during the following four years, into eight languages.Very quickly readers of’Story of a Soul’ came on pilgrimages to Thérèse’s grave in Lisieux. They wrote to the Carmel to ask for relics. The movement grew. The photos are in nice condition. The silvered cover is tarnished. But I have not tried to clean it. The album measures roughly 5/8" by 3/4" Priority air shipping anywhere in the world will be $1.50.
