SILVER GUILLOCHE ENAMEL ART DECO NAIL BUFFER& TOOLS in case 1934 Description: SILVER GUILLOCHE ENAMEL ART DECO MANICURE SET WITH NAIL BUFFER& ASSORTED TOOLS in case 1934 A beautiful set of English art deco sterling silver handled guilloche enamel manicure tools in a roll up case. There are also two hallmarked sterling silver handled tools which are not part of the original set but which will be included. Because they were all in the same case when I came across them. The attractive and cheerful sunburst design on the guilloche enamel is a classic art deco motif. The nail buffer is an especially lovely item and is in great shape. It's very easy to remove and renew the chamoise cloth. The nail buffer is hallmarked for Birmingham 1934. The height of the Art Deco era. The other guilloche tools are stamped“silver” The plain silver ... morehandled tools are dated 1924(tweezers) and 1917 for the other one. Condition: Most of the tools. Apart from the scissors and the nail file, are still useable and functional. The condition of the guilloche enamel is very good, my photos show both sides of the tools. The guilloche handled nail file is not very sharp and therefore not effective as a working tool. The scissors are wobbly and not able to be used at the moment, but may be able to be restored. The case is showing signs of age and use and the strap which would have secured it together is missing. Size: To give an idea of scale the nail buffer measures approx 9.5 cm long. Fabulous Large English Cut Crystal, Sterling & Guilloche Enamel Perfume Bottle
A spectacular example. About as good as you will find, made from really hefty crystal, beautifully cut. The top is made from sterling silver hallmarked(some rubbing) for Birmingham 1923; the makers mark is also present, for Alexander Clark& Co Limited. The domed top has the most highly prized colour of guilloche enamel, powder pink in undamaged condition. The hinged lid fits well with the inside lavishly gilded and the original glass stopper still intact. A fine and impressive example standing 5" tall and approximately 4 1/4" in diameter. The box is made from French first standard silver. Which has a purity of 950. It is worth noting that this is a higher purity than sterling, which is 925. The exterior of the box is covered in beautiful light blue enamel, with fine machine turnings visible underneath. The lid has wreath and ribbon decorations in iridescent orange and green enamel. The center of the lid has a design of a basket and crossed broom and spear in shiny metallic enamel. The interior of the box has a rich gold wash. The box still has its original powder puff, complete with the enamel button for a handle. The lid ... moreis set with a mirror. This is a truly exceptional piece, very well made. The interior of the box is hallmarked with the French small article mark for 950 silver purity and a maker's mark we unfortunately do not recognize. This piece is in excellent overall condition. The enamel is flawless. With no chips, no losses, and no problems whatsoever. The lid snaps shut well. The hinge of the lid is in great shape. The mirror has some discoloration around the edges, but the center is still clear and entirely useable. The puff is clean and in good shape. There are no breaks, and no repairs. Antique Enamel Guilloche Compact/Purse by FMCo; in Silver w/ Chain, Perfect
What a fabulous piece. It dates back to the 1920's through the 1930's, during the Art Deco era. It was made by the Fineberg Manufacturing Co. who traded as FMCo. The makers mark is inside on the rim around the mirror. On the inside is a section for pressed powder and a puff, opposite the mirror. The condition of this compact/ purse is absolutely spectacular. It is hard to believe the age of it, it presents in perfect condition. The piece is made of a silver metal which is not marked. I believe it to be German silver which is to as pure as sterling. All the silver looks great, free of scratches and any discoloration. It actually has a great shine to it. There is a chain attached so it can be carried like a purse, with a strap drop of 5 and a 1/2 in. This chain is in a very pretty bar-link design. On the front of the compact is the ... morebeautiful enamel design. It is diamond shaped with a pink, blue, and green floral design, on a white pearlized background. The back of the piece is done in solid silver metal which has a pretty etched design to it. There is a snap top closure located at the top of the diamond. The enameled area is framed in a thin silver rim; the compact measures 1 and 7/8 in on each side to form a 2 and 3/4 diamond. This piece is what I would consider very special. It's charm and beauty make it very collectable. The superb condition of this compact speaks for itself, and certainly adds to the desirability of the piece. Antique hanging clock. Clock is Swiss set in silver with guilloche enamel and marcasites. Probably French and dating to the late 19th/ early 20th century. Measurements: diameter of clock alone is 1 7/8 inches. The mount is 4 inches long. Excluding ribbon and bar with loop. Total length is approx 7 1/4 inches. Exquisitely made and finest. Finest workmanship all round. Mount is silver with engine turned, pink guilloche enamel in patterns that seem to hover and dance as the light catches the surface. The bar that suspends the ribbon and rest of the piece is in matching silver and enamel. Both pieces are hallmarked on the back with 935- above sterling standard of silver. The clock has a border in blue guilloche enamel. Also engine turned, with a very fine pattern. It is set with applied numerals, all done in silver and marcasites. Vintage Chinese Guilloche & Cloisonne Enamel on Metal Cup & Saucer
Even though this set is not perfect. It is amazing. It is a combination of guilloche enamel and a cloisonné style enamel. The motif is of swimming koi fish or carp. The colors are vibrant. The cup has a 1/8" x 3/8" chip in the enamel and a bit of discoloration on the inside. The 4 1/4" saucer bottom has a bit of discolorations also, and is stamped CHINA. French Guilloche Enamel on Sterling Silver Art Deco Brush
This exquisite sterling and enamel brush is from the early 20th Century. It measures 6 1/8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. With 1 1/4 inch bristles. The color is a rare golden brown. Which brings out the highlights in the wonderful engine turned engraving. It is in very good condition with almost no scratches. There is a bit of opaque white edge enamel missing at one end and a tiny surface chip on the brown next to it. The Athena head silver mark at the center on each side identifies its provenance as France.

This amazing guilloche enamel piece has a wonderful floral rose design all done over a sterling silver base with what looks to be a mother of pearl push button. It measures approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter and has a bottom made of wood. This piece would have been located at a certain room in the house and when pushed would have sent notice to the maids or butlers quarters as to something or someone needed to be attended to. It appears to be sterling silver, but I cannot find a marking. It looks like it might have been made by F&B. The compact measures 2 1/4" in diameter. The mirror on the interior is original and in very good condition. The compact opens and closes very well. There is a gold wash on the interior of the compact. This auction is for this lovely pair of Fine Quality Enamel Candlesticks and the name says it all" Guilloche EVANS" the finest enamel craftsman's in the early 1920's- 1930's. It is in Very Good Condition. Please look at all the pictures. There is very tiny little chip around the crystal edge(at the bottom) that can NOT been seen or even noticeable when it sits on the actual enamel candlestick holder, I wouldn't even worry, it's just from the years of been put back and forth into the stand, since it's fine crystal it's delicate.
