O XFORD J EWEL This auction is for a uniquely designed and well made. Art Deco sterling and enamel necklace, that is from the 1930's. This piece is marked with an"H" inside of a triangle which is most likely the mark for the company Hermann and"sterling" The necklace measures 15 1/2" long. Is just under 5/8" wide at its widest point, and is fairly thin and delicate weighing 9.6 grams. The necklace closes securely with its original latch and loop clasp. This piece is unique for its patriotic design in red, white and blue enamel. The contrast and geometry in the design is striking when worn even though the piece has a smaller profile. The pendants are thin and fairly flat at the back so that the piece lays flush along your neckline when worn and the original paperclip chain is a pretty compliment to the pendants. ... moreThe enamel is very bright and fresh looking, there is one tiny chip to the white enamel on one of the pendants and a few other tiny spots but the enamel is 95% intact. And this vintage piece is a lovely example. The necklace is fully hallmarked with"D-A 925S Sterling Norway" along with the scales symbol. The"W" with a circle is the designer's mark for Agnar Skrede who was active in the 1950's. The silver has a gold wash and the double leaf links are white guilloche enamel. Evans US Navy Insignia Vintage Guilloche Rose Enamel Compact
From what I have seen. This is circa 1930's and made by Evans, as labeled on the powder puff inside the compact. This is somewhat unique, though because of the United States Navy insignia on the top in the middle. The top guilloche border encircles a flawless white enamel top that has its own circular pattern of white on white. Then there are delicate pink roses with green leaves and a gold-tone metal USN with the anchor insignia in the middle of it all. The mesh underside is in very good condition and the clasp works great. The compact is listed as used. But does not look as though it saw much action- it is still full of powder under the puff. The puff itself is in good condition, with a small area on one side where the Evans band is sewn into the seam, that is coming away a bit. The mirror is in beautiful shape. All in all. Vintage David Andersen Guilloche Enamel Salt and Pepper with Tray
Vintage David Andersen salt and pepper shakers set and tray. Signature can be found on the perfectly fitted tray. The Guilloche enamel lids to the cut glass containers are marked only Sterling. Tray is marked"David-Andersen. 60G" as the tray is Silver Plated. Overall. Each shaker is about 2" tall with a base of 1 3/16" by 1 3/16" Colors are Mint Green and Canary Yellow. Condition is good to excellent. There are no chips on the cut glass. There is some loss on the gilding on the lids, mostly on the Yellow lid one due to the fact that they were stored with contents. The salt in the yellow one reacted with the Sterling, but it is nothing serious. There is no damage to the enamel. No loss of plating to the tray. Antique German Sterling Silver Blue Guilloche Enamel Mirrored Powder Compact
One antique blue guilloche enamel on sterling silver lady's powder compact with mirror made in Germany. This beautifully decorated 2-1/8" diameter compact exhibits a detailed pastoral scene of a shepherdess with a couple attending her on the cover. Two sheep are also pictured along with what looks to be the wall of a city behind them and much foliage. The way in which the artwork was done on the face of the compact allows for parts of the picture to be highlighted depending upon how you orient it. These areas include the sky. The water, the stockings of the gentleman in the red jacket as well as his shirt, the shepherdess's apron, the lady's hair, highlights on the lady's yellow frock, the sheep and several more minute places. The scene is bordered in a gold punctate garland interspersed with tiny gold stars. Moving out ... morefrom the garland is a finely engraved stylized border in two shades of blue. The top of the base of the compact also has a fine border. The engraving looking like stylized undulating waves of water. The back of the compact is entirely the blue guilloche enamel alone in a zigzag pattern. It comes in the small gray flannel bag. Ripped at one edge, in which it has been stored. Condition: The only damage I see is near the hinge on the top of the compact in the stylized border. Where a portion of the edge is chipped away(see photo) The remainder of the compact has the usual wear one would associate with a much used item. Hinge works perfectly. The interior is gold colored- could be a gold wash. Mirror is intact. There is a powder puff included. Although I do not know if it is original to the compact. Loose powder is still in the base, and has escaped as is evident in some of the photos. I will leave it to the new owner to take care of as he or she sees fit. A beautiful rare sterling silver gilt and guilloche enamel Norwegian thimble. It is hallmarked with the 925 standard mark and the maker’s marks of David Andersen. This style of makers mark was used from 1925. It is a beautiful design being gilded and guilloche enamelled in white with hand painted roses. It is in perfect condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The enamel is free from chips cracks and repairs. It measures about 3/4 inches tall and weighs about 8 grams. A lovely circa 1920's.900 silver Guilloche enamel cigarette case. The most beautiful cobalt blue enamel top with delicate gold flourishes. Lovely swirls and flowers in gold. The pattern in the silver is a radiating scalloped circle under the blue enamel. The case is square in shape. Very heavy. It is marked.900. Also initials FZ. Third hallmark looks like a 2 W and a head in profile- very hard to decipher. Case is in very nice condition. It was used. There are tiny scratches in the enamel. think they could be buffed out but want you to be aware they are there. Back has scratches as well. Closure works great. Much better than pics. Very special! Vtg Sterling Guilloche Enamel Thimble & Bobbin Case
This is a Gorgeous Sterling Silver& Guilloche Enamel Thimble and Bobbin Case. Complete with the original thread. I do not know what size the thimble is, but it measures 5/8 wide at the bottom and 7/16 wide at the top, with what looks like opalescent glass on the top of the thimble. When the thimble is screwed on the bottom part of the case it is 2 1/4 tall. This piece was made in Germany probably around 1930 to 1940. The case and the thimble are in excellent vintage condition, there is a microscopic chip in the enamel that is so small, you can only see it with a loupe, the photo of it was taken in micro mode and it is the last picture. The photo was zoomed in all the way and you can still barely see it. This item is as found, I leave the cleaning and polishing to the new owners to ensure no damage to the original finish. Art Deco German Sterling And Guilloche Enamel Make-Up Compact W/ Chain & Ring
This is a Sterling and pink guilloche enamelled powder or rouge case that was made in the 1920's and appears to have German hallmarks. The inside rim is hallmarked with STERLING. A three point crown, a letter T, and a lion standing on all fours facing left, and the number 3415. The inside has 26C stamped on it. The original mirror and the plate holding the mirror are present and in good condition. There is a chain attached to the center of the hinge with a carrying ring that has nice design to it. The top of the case is machine turned with the pink guilloche over it and there is a small landscape scene in the center. The bottom of the case has"CBW" monogrammed on it. This is approx. 2 and 7/8" in diameter and 3/8" thick. This is a lovely pink color with a very detailed picture of a Grecian, I think, woman and flowers and leaf design, etc. This has 2 areas of enamel loss, one in the upper right hand corner and one in the lower right hand corner of the main part of the brush. Someone, before I got this, used some matching pink nail polish or paint to cover the losses and it is hard to notice them unless you look closely. There is some minor scratching on the enamel surface commensurate with age and use and there is paint loss on the wood where the bristles are as shown. This is hallmarked with 3 symbols I can't make out and it also ... moresays sterling and has the#s 4505 on it and measures 9 3/8" long and 3 1/4" at it's widest. This still displays beautifully and would make a really nice addition to any antique Guilloche enamel& Sterling silver brush collection! Offered in this auction is an excellent vintage painted guilloche enamel multiple photo holder. C.1950's! This piece is 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" 1" high. Open, the piece is 9" wide. Condition is perfect, no damage of any kind. No makers mark I can find, very well made. 6 fold out sections to hold photographs. The round rings pop out to change the photos, clear plastic to protect. This piece never used, the original Movie star photos intact. French Guilloche Enamel on Sterling Silver Clothing Brush
This exquisite brush is 6 1/8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. With 1 1/4 inch bristles. The color is a rare golden brown. It is in very good condition with almost no scratches. There is a bit of opaque white edge enamel missing at one end and a tiny surface chip on the brown next to it. The Athena head silver mark at the center on each side identifies its provenance as France. Shipping will include insurance.
