Antique Vintage Enamel Guilloche Sewing Kit, Etui, Germany, Thimble, Handpainted
Made in Germany ~ Sewing Etui ~ Enamel Guilloche This is a stunning enamel treasure for anyone who collects sewing or needlework kits. Etuis, or implements. Quite lovely, I'm sure it has had an interesting journey. The sewing kit fits comfortably in the palm of your hand or pocket or purse. It is a delightful and cheery sunrise golden color. The thimble is in great condition and functions as the top of the etui. The spool inside supports three options of thread. The top of the spool comes off to reveal the storage compartment for needles and pins. The enamel is all encompassing with the gold washed silver or copper at the ends and seams. The metal is not identified by markings. It polishes nicely with a testing of silver polish. But I can't be sure of the content. This piece is marked'Germany' on the bottom base. The only ... moredetectable flaw is at the seam- tiny 1/8" area where enamel is imperfect or worn consistent with its vintage. This may even be a repair. Look closely to see this in the pictures. Otherwise enamel is smooth without flaws and any'white' in the photos is from photography only. There are four hand-painted flowers on the enamel. Two pink rose designs on the thimble and two blue floral designs on the base. Completely contained this enameled piece is 2 1/8 inches or 5.5 centimeters. A true gem and rare find. Unique to its era. Hi I have for sale a Genuine English/Swiss solid silver and Guilloche enamel miniature table clock made in England. The case and movement have been fully ultra sonic cleaned hand polished and re built so in perfect looking and working condition, the clock has hallmarks for Birmingham 1939. This fine clock has stunning pink engine turned Guilloche enamel front and was retailed by Edward Glasgow. The Case The case is in solid hallmarked silver with the front in Guilloche enamel the only damage is a small chip top left of no.10 but not really seen on display. The clock stands just 4” high to the top of the tomb x 5” wide with a depth of 2” it is in perfect condition in silver with a hand carved made of solid I-O-Y( Can’t use the full word on Ebay)figure of a Buda? The gilt wash in the section has worn a little. The Dial The dial is in mint original ... morecondition finished in white with Arabic numerals. The clock also retains its original black/blue steel ornate hands all housed in a silver ring with Swiss made and Edward Glasgow, 8 Days on the dial. The Movement The movement is an eight day time only; the movement has been fully restored serviced and oiled so keeping great time over the eight days via the original jewelled escapement made by the Swiss. The original key/adjuster is in the back. Overall a stunning desk/table clock that looks beautiful on display you will have to look for years to find another one like this it is a very rare chance to buy a very rare clock. These gorgeous little cufflinks were made in England in the 1920-30's and the faces of these classic cufflinks have a Lilac Guilloche striped enamel face with a gold rosette. So evocative of the Art Deco period.
