I believe this is a mid-century collection ~ the end of the tongs have a enamel handles ~ this style is called Guilloche ~ enamel on silver. Four of the tongs were made in Norway by Askel Holmsen ~ these tongs feature enamel handles in red. Blue and green ~ one of the red handles has some wear to the enamel that you can see in the photos. For sale is a 1.5" Round Chatalaine Powder or pill box compact that has a mirror. Compact is marked"German Silver" on the back and has an Art Deco Guilloche Enamel decoration on the front. Compact measures just under 3/4" deep and has a chain attached that is 3 1/2" long. Plus the 15/16" ring. Compact is in good condition, with minor damage to the enameling around the edge where the green leaf is to the right of the center rose. I have not attempted to shine the metal, so I do not know how much of the tarnish would be able to be removed if a future owner desired to do so.

Pair of salt and pepper shakers. From Norway by Hroar Prydz. Cut lead crystal bottoms. Tops are sterling silver and white enamel. The metal under the enamel has been given the decorative engraving technique known as guilloche. The silver has a 24k gold wash over it. They are each about 1.5 inches tall and have the imprint"Norway Sterling 925S" These are in excellent condition with no issues. No damage to the enamel. No pitting, etc. The gold wash is still intact. Gold washes like this are very delicate. Don't ever use a polishing cloth to polish these, as it creates too much friction. Only remove tarnish with something like Hagerty extra mild silver foam, using it wet, not dry. Also, don't ever store salt in these other than for the dinner service during which they are being used. The salt will irreversibly damage, darken, ... moreand pit the silver. Empty them and wash them after each use. I have seen these offered from other sellers where the silver has darkened severely, obviously from salt damage, and the sellers advertise them as just needing polishing. That is not accurate, as that sort of damage is impossible to fix other than perhaps by a professional restorer in certain cases) These are ready for use or for special gift giving.

What a stunning colour! Without doubt. The most sought-after colour and for that reason, the hardest to track down. Here is a beautiful example made from English Sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1913. The back is beautifully engine-turned covered in wonderful pink guilloche enamel framed with a tiny rope decoration. Stunning Rare Kristian M. Hestenes Enamel Guilloche Silver Dish 925 Bergen Lake Norway This is a fabulous solid silver(925) Dish. Which has an enamel/guilloche mountain and lake scene, made by Kristian M. Hestenes of Bergen, Norway. My photography does not do the picture justice- it does not capture the lovely guilloche ripple effect. This is a rare piece- I can not find another example on the Internet. The Dish is approx 9.3cm diameter and weighs approx 90g. On the reverse- see photos 3 and 4- you can see a series of 3 marks: 925. KH and a Symbol for K Hestenes. With Christmas coming up. QUALITY AUSTRIAN ART DECO SOLID SILVER GILT& BLUE GUILLOCHE ENAMEL HINGED BOX This Quality Austrian Art Deco circular hinged box is made of 935 silver that has been gilded. All around the outside it has been applied with a medium blue guilloche enamel and has a gold leaf and red stone pattern to the lid. Inside on the edge of the lid it has a range of marks which include the silver purity of 935. The other marks are not clear enough to read. The box measures 2.5cm high and 5.8cm in diameter. It is being sold in good condition commensurate with age. The gilding around the lid has fine amounts of wear and there is a miniscule sliver of enamel missing at the back to the right hand side of the hinge. Hallmarked Solid S. Mordan Silver Pill Box - Blue Guilloche Enamel Chester 1911
A gorgeous little antique pill box. Made from silver and hallmarked Chester 1911, with the maker SM for S. Mordan& Co. The guilloche topped lid is enamelled in a lovely turquoise blue which just glows. There are a couple of dinks to the side and one to the base, and the enamelling has come away at the top of the heart, with a couple of chips to the side. Also, the hinge needs fixing, although the lid fits snuggly anyway. A beautiful little piece- please see photographs for a more detailed description. Lovely blue transparent enamel on sterling silver work by Foster& Bailey. Ca. 1920's. The machine-engineered ground is very intricate under the enamel. Very pretty shade of sky blue.It is in beautiful condition with no cracks. Chips or scratches. The mirror is beveled and is in wonderful condition as well. It measures 2 1/2" Guilloche enamel is really a misnomer. The word'guilloche' refers to the machine-engineered design under the transparent enamel. A French engineer named'Guillot' invented the machine that does that work. The egg opens to display 5 Guilloche Enamel Flowers which are all excellent and the top of the egg has a bright gilt finish to the inside. It is fully hallmarked as shown in the large pictures and dates to the 1970's. It balances on its base for display purposes It is in good condition general light wear with age and measures 6cm tall and 4.5 cm diameter at widest point and weighs 108.8 grams. To be exact to the eggs condition it has a very light dent to the top of the egg which can hardly be seen and I cannot get it to show in a photo. Hallmarked Birmingham 1930 The solid silver lid is decorated with green guilloche enamel. The silver beneath the enamel is engine turned engraved to depict a flower. Within concentric borders, which shows through from beneath the translucent enamel. The underside of the lid is gilded. This is clearly hallmarked with the lion passant sterling silver mark, the anchor town mark for Birmingham, and the date letter'F' for 1930. The lid fits onto its original ten-sided crystal glass body. This measures 8.2 cm in height and 4.0 cm in width. The silver lid weighs 12 grams or 0.38 troy ounces. The total weight is 85 grams. The condition is generally excellent. Bearing a full set of London import marks for 1912. This is an absolutely magnificent and extremely fine quality French first standard(958 high purity) silver and guilloche enamel box. The box is round with a flat pull off lid and straight sides. The lid of the box and the sides have stunning alternating bands of green and pink guilloche enamel between white enamel strips. The underside of the box is finely engine turned. The box has a pull of lid and the inside of the box is gilded. The box is large- it is 3-3/4 inches/ 96 mm in diametre and it stands 1-1/8 inches/ 28 mm high. It weighs an impressive 220 grams. This is a lovely vintage Perfume jar with a beautiful cut polished bottom and gorgeous starburst blue enamel guilloche screw top lid on high quality 935 silver. This item is signed"STERLING MADE IN GERMANY" with"935" in a square cartouche. Difficult to see, guaranteed 935, it has the original blue glass stopper which fits perfectly, the screw top lid fits on top and fits securely. The silver had a gold wash, however, it has mostly been polished and cleaned off through the years. The condition is very good, with no dents, chips, flea bites" or dings.
