German Schutzen Shooting Hunting Target Medal Orden Shoot Gun Target Hunt
Selling a 1963 cardboard lithographed color German shooting/ schutzenfest award in very good conditon. It's hard to find paper targets of this era. Let alone a target which was not shot. Condition is very good with minute wear from being stored for 50 years. Diameter is 7 3/4" The central medalion of the shooter and the classic laurel(bay) leaves and berries surround are nicely detailed. The city/ date plaque is fastened with two minute brads. This was a prize at a schutzenfest in 1963. The background plaque is a tight grained wood finished in dark color with applied paper printed with a light laquer type finish. Cat times 3: This emblem seems to have originated on the famous U-48 but then it was used on many other boats as officers from moved on. 5 U-boats displayed this emblem: U-48.
