I have for sale a medal from the German& Austro-Hungarian Aid Society of Chicago that was sold& the proceeds were used to help those in need. In Europe, due to World War I. This society was formed in 1914 so I assume this medal was made soon after. The medal is bronze, it is 2 3/4 by 2 3/4 inches and in AU condition. World War I Or Earlier German Military Medal Deutscher Kriegerverein
The bottom of the medal has a picture of a man and has the German worlds listed in the title on it. The bottom half has wear and black missing in each of the 4 sections. The top half has a crown and crossed swords and another German word which I can't quite make out. This has had a ribbon and most of it is missing. The medal is probably from World War I or earlier and is 3 1/4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches wide. The medal is 2 different colors and may be 2 different medal? but this is how it came when I got it.
