It is a amssive approx. 10" diameter ball form vase with slight turned lip extending out the top. It is an interior decorated case glass. 1920s French Champleve Enameled Open Salt Dip, Cellar, Dish w/Matching Spoon!
This salt dish is made of clear. Cut glass and rests on a colorful, enameled tray. Together, they stand 7/8" tall and measures 1 15/16" in diameter. Similar pieces are shown on page#156 in the book, The Open Salt Compendium, and the descriptions state that this is French champleve which dates to the 1920s. Included with the cut glass salt is a spoon which is also enameled to match the footed tray. The tray is finished in muted, jeweltone colored enamels. The colored part is excellent, but the underside has some corrosion where the ball-shaped feet meet the tray. The little glass dish has a small nick on the rim. A lovely set! Here is a lovely vintage Art Deco French style accent mirror. It is made of wood and compo/gesso accents. Or some people call them barbola accents as they are made in the shape of flowers and leaves in some spots. At the top is also the typical French ribbon/bow accent piece. This measures 13 1/4 x 21 ins. It is in FAIR as is vintage condition with a chip at the bottom center, a chip off a leave at the top left, and some edgewear. Much of this can be touched up with dark gold paint if it bothers you. The surround color is a dark green, and then a dark gold. I was up at the crack of dawn each day, and managed to winkle out some delightful and quirky finds– enjoy browsing! Lovely large panel of black lace tulle. Entirely hand embroidered with gold metallic sequins. It measures 222cm x 70cm. No fading. There is very little loss of sequins- they are hand stitched in a wiggly pattern over the entire surface. I can spot a few holes however, so it is not in perfect condition. ... moreIt would make a wonderful overlay for a flapper dress, fabulous veiling for a hat, or other creative vintage projects. Amazing unusual antique French silk beaded& pearl flapper dress tunic 1920s. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Phew! I arrived back from France last weekend. And have spent all week madly laundering, organising and photographing the treasures I bought back with me…so lots of new items for you to peruse. I concentrated on smaller items on this trip– antique bonnets, lace, buttons, haberdashery, costume, fabrics and more. I was up at the crack of dawn each day, and managed to winkle out some delightful and quirky finds– enjoy browsing! A very beautiful silk chiffon original beaded flapper dress. With hand stitched pink pearls, glass bugle beads and metallic bullion work motifs- beautiful! The silk chiffon of the skirt is in excellent condition with no fragility, marks or damage. The top part is lined with fine ivory silk, ... moreand this too is in good condition- with one small tear and a hole(last image) under one arm on the bodice. You might consider using the beaded panels of the skirt to incorporate into a new dress. The tunic is split to the waist, and would originally have been worn with a silk skirt or bias-cut dress beneath it. The beadwork is quite stunning- I have never seen another like it, with amazing bullion work motifs, pink pearls and glass bugle beads. There is very little bead loss, but some of the pearls need re-attaching. If you decided to use the skirt panels for another project you could use the beads from the bodice to make any repairs. Each skirt panel is 78cm wide and 35cm tall(where it is attached at the waist) It is heavily beaded to a depth of 15cm with pearls and beadwork running up each side of the slit- the rest of the silk chiffon is dotted with tiny glass beads. Some measurements of the tunic as it is: shoulder to shoulder 35cm, underarm to underarm 48cm waist approx. 34cm, length 77cm. Unworn original 1920s vintage French child's velvet& soutache embroidery cloche hat. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Phew! I arrived back from France last weekend. And have spent all week madly laundering, organising and photographing the treasures I bought back with me…so lots of new items for you to peruse. I concentrated on smaller items on this trip– antique bonnets, lace, buttons, haberdashery, costume, fabrics and more. I was up at the crack of dawn each day, and managed to winkle out some delightful and quirky finds– enjoy browsing! A lovely two-tone unworn child's 1920s's cloche hat- absolutely pristine! It has never been worn. And was found together with another child's velvet hat, carefully wrapped in tussue paper in a box. There are no marks, stains or damage of any kind. Gorgeous soft cotton ... morevelvet, trimmed with soutache ribbon. The inside circumference is 51cm. A beautiful 1920s cloche hat in fabulous condition- the second hat is listed this week too(last photograph) More photographs below. PLEASE READ.
