Fabulous little celluloid doll full of expression. And in her original dress and hair rosettes. She has been in my own collection for at least 30 years. She measures only 4 1/2 inches high. Her dress is affixed onto her body so I do not know her markings, which are probably on her back, and not worth the damage it may incur. This approximately 19" boudoir/bed doll has a lovely face. She is dressed in French provincial costuming and may have been manufactured in France circa the 1920's. Her molded mask face may be covered with silken fabric. While her titian hair styled in braids is fashioned from floss. Her eyes are dreamy in their various shadings of paint. Please notice her fur eyelashes! One of her pencil thin brows has almost washed away, though her red mouth remains full. Please note the rub to the fabric on the tip of her nose. Her face and neck areas sustain overall dust and light soil from age and storage, and may require cleaning. Vintage Beech I.D. Acier Forge Coffee Mill/Grinder—French 1920s—Adjustable Grind
This particular red-handled French model was likely made in the 1920s. The I.D. Acier Forge decal is nice and bright and shows very little wear. The body is about 4 5/8” wide x 4 1/2” deep x 5” tall. Height including handle is 9” The box has a warm golden finish. Box is held together using lock mitre joints. Drawer is fingerjoined and is held in place by two tensioned metal spring blades. Metal top is chromed and shows some wear. But operates normally. Two doors swing open to allow access to the metal lined bean hopper. Adjustment for grind is inside the box just above the drawer. The assembly of the grinder mechanism and top is unusually complicated. They are all held together with two bolts and the nuts holding them are tensioned with springs. The grinder was taken apart and thoroughly cleaned and oiled. The wood parts were stripped and ... morere-finished using several thin coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and polished with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. This mill is in very good working condition. Wood is clean and free of any cracks. Dings or splits. Retains all of its original parts. Antique/vintage coffee grinders from Europe were usually made from Beech hardwood for good reason; Beech is native to the continent and has a special property— it does not splinter! This makes it the ideal wood for any item that is used by hand. In addition. Beech has special oils that preserve the wood and makes the wood even more beautiful with age. Adjustment for grind is inside the box just above the drawer. The grinder has a conical burr which is the best type to achieve a uniform particle grind that gives a more even extraction of flavors, so that the bitter taste that comes from particle dust is not created. Art Deco Brass Enamel Desk Clock 1920s/ 30s French or German rare
Unusual and stylish clock of some quality. Solid brass with green speckled enamel. Possibly Shagrin effect. The green face has a grained look so could be leather. No makers name. Looks German, Austrian or French but I could be wrong. Elaborately shaped hands. The face numbers are very feint, not sure if intentional or not. The oval clock is swivel adjustable with thumb screws either side. The movement needs attention. Does tick away if shaken then stops, probably overwound. The glass looks to have been replaced with perspex and some point. A dent to brass case at the back and a couple to rim edge. Measures 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches across. Classy looking piece. Unusual Vintage Art Deco French Cast Aluminum Trivet with Fruit& Flowers ca 1930s Very decorative antique French trivet made of thick cast aluminum with a motif of fruit. Flowers and foliage. It stands on three sturdy feet and has two handles. It dates from around the 1920s. A very solid kitchen accessory, it weighs 0.7 kg. A functional and quite unique addition to your kitchen decor.
