Rare Set 1920s French Jet Jewelry Tassle Necklace Hatpins Earrings Marked Czech
This is a fabulous antique French Jet jewellery set circa 1920's. Includes a wonderful Flapper tassle or Sautoir necklace and a pair of earrings and two hatpins. It's a matching set. The earrings are marked. I think it reads Czech on the top and Slovakia on the bottom of the circular text. It's a bit hard to read, so please look at the photo. The necklace hangs 21" long from the back centre neck to the bottom of the tassle. The circle of the necklace(without counting the tassle) is 30" The set is in fabulous condition for it's age. The metal is a bit darkened. And the silver coating has worn off the pins. The earring clips are darkened, so might be real silver. This auction item is a 1920s Lovely Chalkware Lady Bust. She is French in the Art Nouveau style. She is a dark skinned beauty with flowing hair adorned with flowers and leaves. This stunning piece is 13 inches tall and about 8 inches at the widest part. Her name is Iris and it is embossed on the front and she is numbered 147. The bust has many chips but most are just to the paint. A couple of chips are a little deeper such as the tips of her hair. I think she could easily be restored but I also love her just the way she is. She has character and poise. This is one from my collection purchased at an estate sale some time ago. Vintage 1920s Mah Jong Set in Rosewood? Box with French Ivory Tiles
From a local estate. A beautiful mah jong set in what looks to be a rosewood box. Very good condition. Some light scratches on the wooden case. There is a carving on the front panel of the case of an oriental man and Chinese characters. I think at one time they were in gold, but most of the color has worn away. When the front panel is lifted off, 5 drawers are revealed. In them are 144 tiles made of french ivory, which is a fancy name for celluloid. There are dice and"sticks" in the bottom drawer. See picture#4. I played when I was a child, but the set we used was quite different from this one. The tiles measure 1-1/4" by 7/8" by 3/8" and have yellowed from age. Do keep popping back to see what I have listed! A really unusual antique 1920s French wedding headdress- very flapper! It has two faux pearl embellishments at each ear. And the headdress is composed of a wired"cage" of faux pearls, encircled by a row of wax flowers. The flowers are a little time-worn, ... morebut there is no damage or missing pearls that I can spot- the shape of the cap can be adjusted as required. You could add some real flowers and foliage for added effect! It was found together with the original wedding veil- fine tulle with Cornely embroidered floral details around all the edges. The veil is shaped(rounded) at the front, to fall over the face. Apart from a couple of tiny holes(last image) I cannot find any damage to the veil. The internal measurement of the pearl-beaded cap is approximately 58cm, and the veil measures 195cm x 135cm. Make an amazing entrance as this summer's most stylish vintage bride! Do keep popping back to see what I have listed! Fabulously suave. an elegant 1920s French silk waistcoat with low cut front- two pockets and 4 faceted black glass buttons. The front is a lovely silk grosgrain fabric. And is ecru in colour(if you have a Farrow& Ball colour chart it most closely resembles Nr. 226 Joa's White) ... morethe back is a pale cream plain silk. There is a buckle to adjust the waist at the back. It is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear. There are a couple of tiny spots on the front- small storage marks that will lift when cleaned appropriately. From the early 1900s comes this spectacular two sided art nouveau bag with a dragonfly lady celluloid frame. It has its original crochet purse with 7" long fringe and is lined with an embroidered organza ringed with ribbon rosettes.The hinges and clasp are in perfect condition. It also has its original 14" celluloid chain. I have photographed both sides of the purse to show the slight difference in the color intensity. There are two markings embedded on the inside of the frame. One says"made in France" but the other I can't read and may be the maker's mark. All and all this is one of the most collectible celluloid bags. It is 17" from the top of the frame to the bottom of the fringe down the center and the frame is 5 1/2" wide.
