These are becoming very scarce at the brocante(flea market) in France! For your French farmhouse kitchen. A rare vintage(circa 1920s) extra large size(14.25 inches in diameter) round French wire rack for cooling cakes, bread or pastry. Classic spider web design. Has an aged finish/patina. No broken wires, however there is a bit of a bend in one area(see pic) due to age and use. Some minor rusting as expected; we have left as found. Ten round wire feet; 7/8 inches tall. Stunning piece of antique wire ware! We love these on a wall in a grouping(loop for hanging) Great as a plant stand on a counter, as well. Or use on a counter for fresh fruit and veggies. French red CELLULOID with inlaid metal scrollwork compact - circa 1920s
This is a very pretty red colored celluloid compact with inlaid gold-tone metal scrollwork around the edges. Measures 2& 1/2” across and is about 3/8” thick. The 2” across compact lid has a pastel image of a gentleman and lady with a small girl. With a courtyard in the background. The lid has a clear celluloid cover over the scene. Which is in good clear condition. The compact lid is opened by lifting up on the stationary flat metal decorative bar on the front. Revealing the round mirror in the lid, set into a rolled metal frame– see pix for mirror condition. The base of the compact still has the round fitted loose powder sifter along with an ostrich feather puff. Made in France" is in raised letters in a circle in the middle of the interior base. And Spingarn Paris is in raised lettering on the exterior bottom. There is a crack ... morein the very center bottom; from the outside this just appears to be a slight bow to the celluloid where the lettering is. From the inside, once you remove the puff and sifter you see a small crack. This small crack in no way compromises the compact…and on display. It will never even be seen. The metal scroll-work inlays are all present and in good condition- so often. These pulled up from the celluloid, and got torn off. The compact has no warping nor cracking. Other than the little one to the bottom cited earlier. Opens and closes securely. Straight and tightly. Nice example of this style of the celluloid compacts. From Spingarn Paris France. Elegant Vintage Edwardian/1920s Dove Gray Suede Pumps with French Heel
A great pair of original vintage 1910's/20's dove gray suede leather high heels. These soft and elegant Edwardian pumps are just beautiful! They have the pointed toes and French heels that so defined the era. The vamp is outlined with pale beige leather and tiny stitching. The pumps are partially lined in the same lovely soft leather. The heels measure 2 1/2" high. The label is intact inside- please see my photos. The size is not marked, but my best guess is 6 or 6 1/2. They measure 9" along the insole and 2 5/8" wide across the ball of the foot on the outer sole. These shoes are wonderfully comfortable to wear! They are soft as gloves on your feet! The back exterior of the case is engraved: ETUI EXPRESS BTE SGDG MADE IN FRANCE" the top exterior of the case has a diamond shape on it that is formed by panels of of three raised lines. As you can see in the photos. The center of the diamond has an ooen diamond that could be engraved with the owner's initials. The underside of the case still has the original label affixed to it from the store this was purchased in- SUBLETT'S" in"OWENSBORO, KY. The case has rounded corners and measure 1 inch tall, 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches long. This is a wonderful, nostalgic item that would be great in a tobacco collection or a,nice conversation piece to set out. Antique 1920s-30s LIMOUSIN Art Deco Figural Girl Mantle CLOCK & Vase Urns French
Antique Limousin French Art Deco Mantle Clock and Vase Set about 20" long x 11" Tall x 8" deep. Vases are about 9" tall x 5" wide. Excellent physical condition with all-original surfaces. There are some small chips along the front. Left corner edge of the clock base, but they blend-in with the surface. The clock mechanism appears to be overwound and therefore we are selling it with the clock needing service. There is a bell inside and behind it. There appears to be a pendulum which swings when you lift the clock. When you move the hands manually around the dial, something starts inside and then the bell chimes multiple times, so some parts are working, even though the clock is not keeping time at all. The tiny shaft above the 12 has a square end and one of the included keys fits over it, but it just spins freely when ... moreyou turn it. There are 2 keys included. But neither is an original to the clock. The vases are made of spelter and stone(onyx) and match the clock. There is a rough edge on the inside, inner lip of the vases. We do not find any damage or repairs to the stone or metal. Normal wear to the surface from age and use. This is very heavy.
