ESTATE LIQUIDATION This is vintage item- a three-sided glass or porcelain evil eye encased in sterling silver on a sterling silver chain. Very unusual- obviously crafted by hand. The chain is marked.925 and the pendant has been tested for.925 sterling silver. I regret that I do not have any information as to its age or history. I was only told that it was purchased in Israel around the 1950s. Pendant measures 3/4" by 1/2"in diameter. One of the evil eye beads has some small chips along one edge. Two beads have minor crazing. One bead is perfect. Sterling chain is 23" This unusual item was obtained at an Arizona estate liquidation. This is a very lovely Ileana Makri evil eye pendant. I've had it for quite a while. Bought it from a friend who is a jeweler and I know for certain that it is a Makri piece. I searched around and I don't believe this particular design is made any more. I found a similar piece at Barney's but it was a marquise shape and sells for over well $1000. This piece is especially wonderful because it has little black lines that look like eyelashes, and the newer pieces don't have this feature. It is marked 750 on the back. No missing stones. There is a little pitting of the front, I guess it's glass, I'm not really sure what it is, but it is minor and doesn't interfere with being able to see the eye clearly.
