All of the mechanical and functional aspects are in very good condition and the reel feels and sounds very smooth. There are no bent or warped parts. There are some abrasions and scratches on this item(as shown in pictures) Someone has scratched their initials(NFM" NFFM" and what looks like"VIFF" into 3 interior sections on the reel(not visible when reel is operationally assembled) and 2 exterior areas(where it is mostly visible under the right light) Please refer ... moreto the pictures(I have documented these 5 areas) The black paint on the interior of the spool is worn and there are several scratches including one of the initialed areas(refer to photo) The top of the drag adjustment knob has 2 small nicks. The other 2 interior areas where the initials occur are approximately 1 inch from the exposed bearings on both sides of the body of the reel. The interior spool side is where it appears to have the"VIFF" There is also the outline of what appears to be some sticker that has fallen off(located next to the exposed bearings in photo) The final areas are on the exterior front and back face of the reel and I did not notice them until I had the reel under the perfect light(I owned this reel for years without seeing this) Also. There is an abrasion on the frame at the bottom of the reel(next to the bottom post) If you are considering buying this reel then you are most likely a serious angler and or collector so please study ALL pictures very closely with the zoom function. The appearance of the translucent amber'glass definitely reminds me of the early-1960s FF Fenwicks. Yard-casting to around 40 feet with a WF7F line had me feeling I'd want to reach for an eight weight line to feel more loading. Of course. If you're a 60-feet-of-line-in-the-air-at-all-times kind of guy, you might prefer six weight lines with this rod. Line ratings are just starting points, anyway, as we know. My sense is that this substantial rod would come into its own with a good fish on much more than while just grass-casting. The blank. Wraps/whippings, and guides—six snakes, a stripper, ... moreand tip-top—look very, very good. The reel seat is somewhat scuffed. The cork must've been kind of ugly from the get-go(lots of visible filler) and it still is. The grip feels solid, though—no crumbling—so it's absolutely fishable. No sock came with the rod. I'll cobble something together or at least wrap the pieces individually with packing material. The tube is that unique. Two-flavours-of-green cardboard thing you see in the photos. Heddon Pal Mark IV Fiberglass Fly Rod. 2pc, script on rod hard to read(somebody has rotten handwritting) but says something like Fas-Tip Action, then the line rating, B, GBG, GAF" which is 8wt, DT8, and WF9 I think. Has cool spring loaded reel seat that works well. I have used this rod here in NW Montana with a 9wt line for pike and bull trout and can assure you it has good fishy mojo! Comes with G Loomis tube and sock. Rod is overall in good used shape, with normal scratches etc. Wraps and guides all solid. Cork is starting to ridge and wear a bit. Ferrule fits securely. Ordinarily this legendary Rokkor-X 24/2.8 cannot be adapted to any current DSLR camera with a glassless adapter without losing infinity focus. When it cannot focus to infinity it loses most of the value as a super wide angle lens. The cameras you can adapt it to are micro 4/3. NEX and various mirrorless cameras but the small sensor of those cameras makes such adaptation senseless- it becomes an F2.8 normal lens. The only way to use this lens' to its full caliber it to convert it to a full frame DSLR mount but unfortunately it is very hard to do. Generally. Among all Minolta MC/MD lenses you only see the Rokkor 58/1.2 and 58/1.4 converted to DSLR mounts. With a slightly worn, dark stained finish.it is in over all nice vintage used condition and a great piece of the past.Usual wear in the wood for over the years(for more condition description, please refer to above) It is a hat oval shape. With a indent inside as seen in the photo, and a narrow groove along the bottom of the outer edge.There are 2 holes with a metal insert on the back of the mold, perhaps for attaching it to a platform. The numbers 7 3/8 and 915 are etched in the side of the wood(hat size? and the maker's mark Brand is also etched in the side of the wood. The hat form measures: 12 1/8" long x 11" wide. Presented for auction is an antique bluish-green WatkinsTrial Mark medicine bottle with a cork top. The bottle stands 8 1/2" tall and weighs 15 oz. It has several bubbles in it indicating its age. Which most likely is the late 1800's to early 1900's. I have not done any research on this bottle, but it has the raised wording"Trial Mark" with a line through the middle of it on the front above the name of"Watkins" which is also in large upraised letters. On the bottom of the bottle is the number"4" The bottle does not have any chips or cracks. There is some discoloration appearance from its contents, but that is on the inside. Old Clear Glass Pedestal Eye Wash Cup This is a very nice eye wash cup made of clear glass with an eight-panel design and a wide rim. The panels of the bowl continue down the pedestal stem but the base is smooth aside from 2 lines which appear to be seams. The bottom is clearly marked with a capital M inside a diamond with a small number 8 above the M. I have been unable to identify the maker. This cup stands 2-3/8 inches high with the oval rim measuring 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/8 inches. I am not sure of the age of the cup- I am not an expert.
