Antique Solid Silver Pill / Trinket Box , Egyptian Tree Of Life Symbol On Lid.
This is a Hallmarked silver pillbox. But could be used for any small trinkets etc. I have not been able to tell where the hallmark is from but the symbol on the lid is I am told the Egyptian tree of life, and I have read that other countries and many faiths use this symbol, I had initially thought it was Celtic. The box is in good condition and has been well looked after. The oval shaped box is 4.4 width. 3cm, top to bottom and is 1.2 cm depth, it weighs 26.1grams. Solid Silver Embossed Heart Shaped Pill/Trinket Box" It is fully English hallmarked for Birmingham 1898 and the makers mark is"H.M" for Henry Matthews who was a fine silversmith of the era. The box is in very good condition with no dings or dents however there is a tiny hole in the lid commensurate with its age. It is decorated with an embossed floral pattern all over and has a cartouche on the lid which is engraved with the letter"A" The box measures 35mm x 34mm and it weighs 17.9 grams. Genuine antique flur de lys snuff box in very good condition for age only 2 minor fault from being perfect one is a very small dent on the side and the other is that the hinge has come loose everything is there just needs the bar and hinges sorting out. There is 3 very small hallmarks/stamps which i could see with my magnifying glass so have taken it to my local jewellers which he saw straight away he said 2 of the stamps/hallmarks would have had some sorted of written makers name on but has long been polished out so they are unreadable and the other stamp mark just appears to have a load of wavy lines inside the mark, also have had it tested and its 800 silver one last note is that one of the stamp marks has a diamond shape, measures 2" wide 3\4" tall

Diameter approximately 2-1/4 inches and 1-3/8" high and in excellent condition. Although I believe it to be of some age, can't date it precisely as unfortunately I'm not an expert on Italian silver, all I can say is it came from a large estate auction, and was just listed as Italian silver. No Holes, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the decoration and definition is crisp, the lid opens and closes tightly with ease, the internal gilding is a good colour with only minimal wear, the Swedish solid silver marks are still clearly legible although as this table top trinket or snuff box is a used antique it does have some small shallow dents around its body and lid along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this antique Swedish table top trinket or snuff box can still be used today and that it would make a superb addition to any cabinet collection, I also think that it looks absolutely fantastic cons

Antique Dutch Solid Silver Relief Decorated Trinket or Pill Box from Amsterdam circa 1930's This Antique Dutch Trinket or Pill Box measures approximately 1 5/8 inches or 41 mm across the length of its body from side to side by 1 1/4 inches or 32 mm across the width of its body from the hinge to the front and it stands 7/8 of an inch or 22 mm tall to the top of its lid when closed. The box is made from 28.8 grams of solid silver in an oval shape that has a three section piano hinge on the back of its lid. The outer body of the box has been delightfully embossed or raised relief and engrave decorated with a band of stylized flowers and foliage over a rib decorated lower band and the lid rim has also been relief decorated with a ribbed band for ease of opening, the top of the lid has also been wonderfully raised relief and engrave decorated ... morewith a Dutch street scene that includes knights, men, women, children and a dog etc with a castle in the background and the box has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below, the underside of the body has been impressed with a Dutch.833 standard solid silver sword mark along with the Dutch silversmith or makers mark of Zaanlandse Zilversmederij from Amsterdam whose mark is recorded as being used from 1920 again as photographed below and I estimate that this trinket or pill box was made circa 1930's. Antique style solid silver pillbox or trinket box with a beautiful indigo blue enamelled lid. The box is well made and the condition is very good. There is one very small ding underneath and a tiny bit of fading to the enamel at the front of the lid. However for a vintage item it is in good condition, the hinge is still perfect and it opens and closes very well. It has been polished. The box weighs 57.5 grams and measures 4 cm width and 3.5 cm length. There is a hallmark on the base and inside the lid. I think it is continental silver. Stunning Repoussé Solid Silver Trinket Box Hallmarked Birminham 1899(Z) This box is in rally good condition ~ no dings ~ no dents ~ the lid fits tight ~ the hinge works fine. It is deeply embossed on the cover with a bearded"Green man" head. He is surrounded by rampant foliage which contains birds. The central cartouche has a very faint initial(C) as if it has not been fully etched. The cartouche does not appear(when pushed) to be thinned as if buffed out. Both cover and body have hallmarks as shown. The interior body and cover are lined with(very clean tidy) black velvet. The base is black leatherette(a bit worn) The box weighs 149 grams in total.
