It is unusual and elegant and reflects the early 20th Century love of objects which were both functional and beautiful. The bowl was made by the Acme Silver Co. Toronto(Ontario. Canada) and is quadruple plate. It has a large silver apple under each of the two handles. There are leaves as well. Around the bowl is a wide band of raised floral motifs. Inside the centre of the bowl there is an etched picture of a water bird(peacock? standing in water with flowers. There are birds above. The pedestal base has four cut-work feet. It has a raised enamel design. The lovely raised floral design consists of roses and Lily of the Valleys as well as their leaves. The color is a bright and beautiful Royal Blue and it has an attached lid. The spout is an unusual design for a coffee pot and one can find a similar picture in the Schiffer Book"French Enameled Ware for the Collector" by Yves Moureau& Elyan Reboul on page 67. It is valued at $420 to $480. The outside enamel is in good used condition- only showing chips on the bottom rim and the top rim as well as chips on the inside rim of the lid. Unusual Vintage Solid Brass Nutcracker Jester's Head NICE.
Details Description: A vintage solid brass nutcracker shaped as the court jester's head. The nut is inserted in between the jester's heads half and the long curved handles are then squeezed to open the nut. The inside has ribbing or raised casting to ensure the nut does not slip. The jester's head shows very nice details of his face. Hat with bells, and the collar below his neck; just excellent casting and beautiful details. Look at the nose, eyes, bells in the hat, and teeth in his open mouth. This is a very unusual piece and is rather interesting and would make a great discussion piece. It could use a good cleaning, but we will leave that to the new owner. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Mexican Owl Vase planter Dolores Hidalgo stamped unusual, gorgeous colors unique
This auction is for one ceramic/ pottery owl vase/ planter. The vase is quite unusual. I've been doing research on it for a while and have yet to find another one like it. The colors on this piece are bright and beautiful(see pictures) On the bottom of vase there is a stamp which reads: Dolores Hidalgo GTO. Dolores Hidalgo(in full. Dolores Hidalgo Cuna de la Independencia Nacional(English: Dolores Hidalgo Cradle of National Independence) is the name of a city and the surrounding municipality in the north-central part of the Mexican state of Guanajuato. The stamp is fading but can be seen with a light or magnifying glass(see pictures) I don't know much about this piece as it was picked up at an estate sale. There was dirt residue inside so I know that it was used as a planter/vase previously. It has been cleaned very gently with warm ... morewater and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. The piece is shiny/ has a glaze over the color adding to it's beauty. The floral pattern is beautiful. Everything looks hand painted. The piece is very detailed with grooves to represent the feathers of the owl. On the top of one ear there is an imperfection/small hole. It doesn't appear to be a chip(see pictures) There are 3 small holes on one foot and 2 smooth dark spots on the back(see pictures) The smooth spots may be paint. They have the glaze over them so they appear to have been there since the piece was created. I'm pretty sure the small holes mentioned happened during the firing process. There are no cracks. Chips, or crazing. Piece measures approximately 6.5 inches tall. 8.5 inches long, and 5.75 inches wide. The hollow planting part is 3.5 inches deep at it's deepest portion. Planting hole is approximately 3.25 x 3.50 inches wide. It weighs approximately 2.25 pounds. All of my items come from a pet-free and smoke-free home. I accept PayPal only for payment. ANTIQUE IMARI PORCELAIN BOWL SCHOENAU BROS GERMANY CROSSED MARK UNUSUAL RIM
Description: This auction is for a large beautiful antique Imari porcelain bowl with a mark that I believe is Schoenau Bros. Germany. I found the underglazed blue mark in the Kovels' new dictionary of marks on page 131(lines) But the only difference is that this bowl has a European 7 mark at the other end. It should date to 1887-1920. The bowl is heavy, has pitting marks usually found in old Asian pieces. This was found at estate& I have left the sticker on the bottom so you can see that the seller was confused about the mark, so that you could also see the price the previous owner paid for it. The bowl measures approximately 3 5/8 inches tall. 9 inches wide straight across, corner to corner 10 1/2 inches. The bowl is in good condition for it's old age; no chips. Up for sale are these unusual. Rare, vintage stoneware Crocks or feeding dishes. Unknown maker. They are 2 1/2" high. 7" in diameter. They have an unusual 1" lip. In good antique or vintage condition with no chips. Or breaks. There is a spider crack on each crock/dish on the inside bottom and they do not appear to go through to the outside.There is a spider crack on one of them that goes down the side and about an inch along the bottom. And it does go through to the outside. I put water in it to see if it would leak. It does have a slow leak. So if you were to plan on purchasing them for a dog or cats dish, that one would be good to put it's dry food in that one. And water in the other one. This is an unusual stoneware jug with a spigot hole that I have never seen before. The glaze is chocolate brown in color. Measurements are 9" tall not including handle x 7 1/2" wide. There are a couple glaze chips. But there are no cracks or repairs. There are fingerprints on the bottom as shown where the maker had glaze on their fingers when they were painting the jug. This is a nice old vintage antique chrome lantern combo. It has a name plate with the name Ash Flash. And it is marked on the bottom HONG KONG BRITISH EMPIRE. There is just a small amount of surface rust on the back, and a small break in the red plastic end, as you can see in the 5th photo, but this is in otherwise good condition with just normal wear for its age. I do not have the correct batteries to test this, so do not know if it works, so it is being sold as is; and the inside of the battery compartment is shown in the last two photos. I'm not certain of the exact age of this, but my guess would be that it is from somewhere in the 1940s period. It has a great retro look and would be a nice addition to any collection. Really really cool and unusual tie clip here by de Cara. I couldn't find a whole lot about this designer. I have to assume it is Italian based on the name. Though. Unfortunately, it isn't sterling, just plated and so it has some wear but it is all-over and so it looks intentional and I think very cool. There is oxidation in the background which makes the fleur de lis stand out! It is also slightly angled.Measures about 2 1/16" long.
