An unusual late Nineteenth. Early Twentieth Century Advertising Paperweight. A London Builder, working from 48 London Wall, which is now in the Barbican district of London. Unusually, he also advertising the installation of Electric Lighting, which was still in it's infancy at that time. The Paperweight measures 10 cm, 4 inches in width, 6.5 cm, 2 1/2 inches in depth, and 2.5 cm, 1 inch in height. The glass itself is in a perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, although there is some paint loss on the base, as can be seen in the photograph. This is quite heavy, which is reflected in the postage cost. Unfortunately. This is a very beautiful candy dish. Vanity tray, soap dish or maybe something else entirely.it is a little over 7" long, and 5" wide at the widest part. It sits on legs and has a very unique shape. An unusual vintage historical/political printed handkerchief. I'm not sure what the theme is but judging by the costumes I'd guess it dates to the 1800's. It shows a woman in a donkey cart with flags with symbols and the letters"VR" She is in front of a Post office and surrounded by children. I'd appreciate any tips to its meaning. It has a selvedge edge on one side and the others are raw. The condition is very good. There are some faint watermarks as visible in the photos which i have not tried to clean but no serious flaws. Consisting of a cup, saucer and bread& butter plate was manufactured by Grimwades at their works in Stoke, Staffordshire. All pieces carry the Atlas China backstamp. The condition is excellent antique(not new) as all three pieces are free from any cracks. Chips or visible crazing and the gilding is nigh on intact. It is normal tea size. I.e. the footed cup with a ring handle stands 6.5cms tall, the saucer is 15cms in diameter, and the plate is 17.5cms in diameter. The typically Victorian style decoration is of Flowers in Blue. Rare Unusual Early Northern Pike Wooden Cloth Spearing Fish Decoy Working 7 1/2"
This is a very unusual old northern pike decoy. The body is made of intricately carved wood but the middle part of the body is also covered with a painted cloth covering. The head and tail are exceptionally well carved. He has 4 metal fins and a metal hook on top. The bottom tip of the tail is broken off and some paint has flaked off of the cloth but it is in great condition otherwise. I will be listing 10 other old working spearing decoys in the next week and one spearing decoy that is more contemporary. The last picture shows the group of spearing decoys which I will be listing.
