Silverplate Figural Squirrel Acorn and Leave Nut Dish Bowl
This is a very fancy nut bowl/dish from Rockford Silver Co. Rockford. Illinois from around the turn of the century. It is highly engraved and has lots of relief designs all over with leaves and squirrels. These Rockford pieces are scarce and hard to find especially in this condition. No dents to speak of. A little wear in interior. The bowl itself is in the shape of a broke in half Acorn. It is quite large at 12" high x 7" deep and wide. Very neat and unusual.

Check out my other items! Pictured is a superb vintage EPNS nut bowl by Viners of Sheffield. It has a different shape to earlier models as it looks as though it pnce had a handle. It has a well detailed squirrel eating a nut on one end.T he squirrel also has a deeper base to sit on than earlier models. Directly opposite the squirrel there are signs of a broken loop or handle which has possibly snapped off. Presumably the handle was a later company addition to the early design which proved unsuitable. The base has a later style Viners of Sheffied logo. Knickerbocker Silver Co Nut Bowl with full figure Squirrel and Flowe
Auctioning a silver plated nut bowl by Knickerbocker. It is a beautiful piece with a branch going across with a figure of a squirrel eating a nut and a flower. Bowl is 7 1/2 inches wide and stands 9 1/2 inches high. On the bottom of the base is the Knickerbocker maker's mark. I tried to photograph it. But it is hard to get a good view. The bowl measures 9 1/2" to the top of the Squirrel's tail and 10" across. I have not attempted to clean this. there is the old patina. The inside of the bowl shows considerable wear from age and use. There are no broken or missing parts. so this could be resilvered and would look great. Vintage ESCo Empire Silver, Silverplate Nut Bowl 24kt Gold Lined With Squirrel
This very cool silverplate nut bowl is 5" across and 4" high to the tips of the squirrel's ears. It's marked on the bottom ESCo. My research tells me that this is the mark that was used by the Empire Silver Co. from Brooklyn. NY from 1890-1909. It's also marked Heavy Silverplate and 24kt Gold Lined. It's a very interesting design with non-symmetrical folds like you'd see in a piece of fabric or a curtain. Light wear as shown but still a very nice silver and gold table piece for your collection. Antique EG Webster & Sons Silver Plated Footed Squirrel Nut Bowl
This is an EG Webster& Sons New York Silverplate footed nut bowl- with a grapevine edge and a squirrel sitting on a branch eating an acorn. The bowl measures 3 and 1/2' high and 6" across. The bottom is marked 0246- the EG Webster& Sons logo is no longer visible on the bottom- if held in the light you can see what appears to be a faint edge of the web logo but it must have rubbed off over the years. This is a lovely piece- I believe the age of the bowl is 1917. The bowl is in excellent antique condition- some tarnishing but not much. The hallmark is a spider's web, with a five point star in the center and the letter"W" in the center of the star. Also, the number 329 is stamped under the maker's mark. This is a wonderful piece from a time when everything was elegant. Scalloped bowl with beaded edges and four floral style feet. The squirrel sits on crisscrossed branches eating his nut. There is some minor plate loss in a few places. Mostly, on the underside, inside the feet. A couple small areas on the sides of the bowl also. I have pictured all these places. MERIDEN FIGURAL SILVER PLATE SQUIRREL NUT BOWL AESTHETIC C1880 LARGE VICTORIAN
This is a great Victorian Aesthetic period c1880 figural silver plate nut bowl by Meriden. It is not marked but I have seen the exact piece with the Meridan signature. The piece is quite large and impressive. There is a large cracked open walnut for the bowl with a squirrel holding a nut on the top edge. The base is composed of a lily pad with two figural flowers. There are four twig feet with leaves. The piece measures 11" tall by 9 1/2" by 8" The silver plating is all worn to the base metal. There are no breaks or damage that I see. but there is one of the nuts missing from the bottom that holds one of the flowers in place(so it is loose) This is an easy fix. This bowl is beautifully done; it features a winsome little squirrel sitting atop graceful oak tree branches with a fluted and beaded bowl attached to delicate oak leaf feet. The quadruple plate silver has the deep, mellow patina we look for! The condition appears to be very good with only minor scratches and wear. Silver plate nut bowl on lily pad with perched squirrel atop from Meriden B.
For your consideration. We offer this marvelous silver plate figural nut bowl from Meriden Britannia Company. A squirrel perches on the rim of a cracked-edge acorn which rests on a lily pad; these elements all sit atop a low four-footed base. Ornamental blooms adorn the lily pad whose stem is curled into a handle. Extensive detailing throughout includes the veining of the pad and the scoring of the acorn sides. This is a heavy substantial piece. In good condition. The plate is pretty much gone, leaving an arresting darkened patina. The company was organized to manufacture silver plate hollowware in 1864 and in 1898 was taken over by International Silver Plate Company. During the time of operation the company used several makers marks. ... moreThe bowl carries one of the oldest of the marks indicating the manufacture date as early as the 1860's or no later than 1880. The nut bowl is larger than most and is more of a centerpiece because of its size standing 12.5 inches tall. Almost 13 inches from left to right and 8 inches from front to back. The bowl has been well cared for and loved. On February 12th, 1986 the bowl was re-plated to its former beauty evidence by receipt which will be attached and the beautiful silver plate finish. Though not perfect it is truly a presentation piece. No monograms or dents and lovely silver plate. There are two very small ares on the back leg which I have tried to show in the pictures. They are very small and very hard to capture in the pictures but please look at the last 2 pictures before bidding. As with all our silver plate additional cleaning is necessary before being used. Up for sale a late 19th century silverplate nut bowl with a perched squirrel eating a nut by Pairpoint Manufacturing Co. circa 1880-1890. The bowl itself is sculpturally modelled as a leaf with pod or bud feet. The squirrel is perched at one end eating a nut. The piece measures 3.75" x 11.25" x 6.5" It is marked on the bottom(slightly rubbed. But still readable) with Pairpoint Mfg Co, a P in a diamond shape, Quadruple Plate and the number 55. Vintage Wallace- Silverplated Candy/Nut Bowl- With Squirrel Handles- Marked on Bottom. The bowl came from an estate sale auction so I do not know the history or age. It is in good vintage condition. It is somewhat tarnished so it could stand to be polished. There are a few pitting type marks inside. I do not see any major issues such as dents. It is about 1 7/8" tall(not including the squirrels) x 5" across the top rim.

Up for sale a lovely nut bowl by Rockford Silver Plate Co. circa 1890-1900. The nut bowl stands on 4 feet and features a squirrel perched on its rim. The body of the nut bowl is lobed and alternates between a satin and a shiny finish. The rim of the bowl has decorative medallions surrounded by c-scrolls and swirling foliage. The bowl is monogrammed with LCD. It is clearly marked"Rockford Silver P Co. Scales) Quadruple 2616" The nut bowl measures 8" in diameter and 6.5" at its highest point. Excellent condition with no plate loss.

WILCOX SILVER PLATED SQUIRREL NUT BOWL, CIRCA 1880, VERY LARGE, QUADRUPLATED
Up for auction is a very nice Victorian nut bowl. Made by Wilcox Silver Company, Meriden, Conn. Circa 1880, it is quadrupled silver plated and marked"Wilcox Silver Plate Company, Quadrupleplate, Meriden#2, and the crossed hammers mark. The features include a squirrel, acorn, leaves, and vines with very nice detailing. Near 12 inches at its tallest and about 8 1/2 at its widest. There is wear on the inside and the vine that the squirrel's feet sit on has detached but could be easily attached again. Please see photos for a better description.
