If you zoom in on our macro 5th photo perhaps your expert skills are much greater than our amateur silver hallmark knowledge. A"582" is stamped over the hallmark so it is very hard to read even with the loupe. GORHAM vintage Silverplate pedestal style candy dish
This is a beautifull candy dish made by GORHAM sought after and highly appreciated silversmith. This is a pedestal model that stands 5 3/4" tall with a top bowl that measures 7 1/4" diameter and 1 1/2" deep. Exquisitely decorated with 5 shells and scalloped rims. Bottom is marked with the GORHAM emblem, letters E and P having a shield upside down with an anchor in it. Then below that are letters and numbers: YC 1687. Very nice and shiny with some minor scratches and water spots inside the bowl and the bottom of it(underneath) It is unique in that I did not find any similar items on ebay nor on the Replacements LTD sight. Webster - Wilcox Silverplate Oval Candy dish 7 3/8" X 5 3/16" on Pedestal
Offered today is an Webster- Wilcox oval silverplate candy dish on a pedestal. The candy dish has an OD of 7 3/8" X 5 3/16" and is 2 7/8" tall. I just polished the silver and found six small silver deterioration spots inside the bowl that will be covered by the contents. The largest spot is approximately 1/8" in diameter.The exterior of the candy dish has rub marks and scratches but they won't be that won't be that visible. Unpacked it weighs 12 ounces. Pedestal compote in very good condition. Stands about 4 3/4" in height. Base has diameter of about 3 1/4" and bowl is approximately 5 1/2" wide. Base has some slight spotting that does not polish quite as well as the rest of the piece.
