Extreme Chased Silverplate Covered Serving Bowl Adelphi c1900 Grapes Vines Leafs
Fabulous Grapes. Leaves and Berries Adelphi Silver Co- New York- Item or Pattern 61 Very Beautifully Executed Reposse Silverplated Covered Serving Bowl with High Relief Work Pattern of Grapes. Vines. Leaves and Berries Adelphi Silver Company went out of business in 1915. This design of this bowl would match anybody's setting that collects anything with grapes& leaves. With very high relief work. This bowl has a removable rim"ring" so you can insert a glass bowl and cover the edges. The handles each feature a bunch of grapes with vines and leaves. We polished this piece to bring it up to picture quality while checking for damages. Minimal usage marks and one small dent in the bottom center. ANTIQUE SILVERPLATE REED&BARTON FOOTED COVERED CASSEROLE SERVING DISH BOWL
Listing a wonderful Reed& Barton antique(approx 110+ years old. I believe) silverplate footed covered casserole or tureen. It is is very nice condition for its age. The casserole bowl itself appears to have been used many many times without a bowl insert- it is scratched and there is considerably plate wear in knicks from spoons. Outside needs a really good polishing. The lid is nice and shiny inside, but the outside unfortunately appears to be missing a layer of silver. I would guess overcleaning. There is no bowl insert. To give you an idea. I have an old Fiesta bowl that fits perfectly! It is 7" in diameter and 2" tall. FL residents add 6.5% sales tax. Take a look at my other items from time to time. Derby Silver Plate Company Covered vegetable serving dish. 8.5" rim-to-rim. 2.25" deep. Has trim ring and lid. I estimate the piece pre-1900 bcause of the maker's stamp, marked'DSP' the pre-merger mark. In 1898. The plant merged with the International Silver Company, a consortium of Connecticut silver companies. At that time the Derby Silver Company works was known as"Factory B" Thus, as a rule of thumb, items with the“Derby Silver Company” logo most likely date from the nineteenth century, while items with the International Silver Company logo, either Derby or Factory B, are from the twentieth. There is another mark on the bottom. Which has been obscured by a'crown' design. I can't remember the significance of this. See pics. And before you read any further I will tell you while this serving piece is handsome it does not look like it is brand new and perfect. Rather it has the look of a silverplate serving piece that’s been in the family for a long time. The bowl measures 13" long by 10" wide and is heavy for its size. The handle on the top wiggles a bit. There’s a spot on one corner that looks like a blister(see photos) a wave on the edge of the lid and a small dent on the side of the bottom. In good condition overall with some light wear from age/use. There are some light scratches on the cover as well as the edge of the silver dish. The bottom has additional scratches from wear. The inside of the silver dish has some very light pitting. However, the silver is still intact. This is a beautiful serving item that will be valued by it's owner for years to come.

This vintage Rogers silverplate covered footed bowl shows very little wear and tear for its age. I purchased it at an estate auction. It has a beautiful shine which will look great wherever you use it. The serving bowl is comprised of 3 pieces: The cover fits perfectly on the base. It is adorned with a substantial finial designed with braided rope. And roses on both sides of the top and the bottom. The base is 10.5" in dameter. It is footed which protects the surface of your table when serving hot food. There is a thick braided rope around the circumference of the rim. The 1.5 quart pyrex insert has handles for easy placement of the food. The entire piece measures apx. 6.5" high.

Rogers oval shaped vegetable serving tray/platter. It has tarnish throughout and needs a good thorough cleaning. I am not certain if the lid design and the base design or pattern match they appear different styles to me however the lid fits perfectly as though it is the one intended for this base. Derby Silver Co. International Silver Co. covered serving dish. Bottom is marked with#4432 and the letters E P N S. W.m. mount and that the design was hand beaten. As the bottom says, this dish has a really nice hand beaten look to it. There is delicate vine pattern circling the outside edge as well as the top of the lid. Silver is in excellent shape with no wear. Inside bottom of the dish does have some scratches. Of course none of this shows with the lid on. The bottom has a scuff but that is also not seen. Seems like an old quality piece made when people expected more from things.

The silver is in very good condition with minor surface wear which you might need to polish a little more. It is about 10.5" wide and 7" tall to the top of the handle. The Pyrex dish is also used with surface wear to the bottom but no chips etc.

Good to Fair Condition with normal wear and scratches from use over the years. There are a few'rough' spots where the copper is showing through. There are no dents. I gave the piece a quick polishing however there are still a few areas that could use a little more elbow grease if desired. There is a light cloudiness on the silver from where all the tarnish had sat over the years. Bowl and lid have a nice rope-border edging. Approx 12" x 8.5" x 3" tall.

Vintage Silverplate Covered Vegetable Entrée Serving Dish Bowl with Handles
This is a heavy silver plated covered serving piece. The markings show a lion and a crown and in between the Letters"P. S. I do not know what they stand for. Underneath it says"Silver on Copper. As noted above. One end of the bowl has been bent downward very slightly, causing two small cracks in the design above. I didn't even notice it until I took the pictures. You can see the flaw in picture number 6 and 10. The serving piece is rather heavy(almost 4 lbs) and measures 13" x 10-1/4" Please check out my other listings. Very ornate silver plate silverplate serving dish with porcelain handles in both sides. Domed fluted lid which is very distinctive. Approx 24" long by 7" high. A real statement piece in the upscale elegant home. Condition is very good. I have only polished the outside of the lid which looks great and the top and inside of the base which has a few small scratches in one small area by the right porcelain handle. A rare and magnificent relic of the late 1800s Silverplate Aesthetic Movement. This fabulous covered serving dish by Reed& Barton was made to impress. In addition to naturalized design characteristics such as the perimeter of birds in a garden arbor motif. Round knobs, and an exotic shape, the amazing thing about this server is that it comes complete with the original white ceramic liner so that is it as clean and ready to serve safely and with confidence as if it were just made last week. Recently. I sold an aesthetic movement water pitcher by Reed& Barton with the exact same bird motif perimeter banding and that dated to 1878 so this is of the same pattern and era. This covered served is marked, 305. Antique covered server features a well made silver ring that goes in place over the ceramic inner bowl and protects the edges. The ... moreentire ensemble is easy to disassemble and clean. Condition for its age is nothing short of amazing. The only tell-tale signs of age are a few black speckles and a few most minor little ding lines on the lid but the silverplate is still shiny. Cleans easily, and gleaming.
