All three feet lay perfectly flat. There is great detailing on this, typical of the genius of Tufts, on the same level as Tiffany and other quality designers. It is in great shape with slight wear in the center, but overall good patina. There is some extra solder on the edge (see last two pictures). The manufacturers mark is “James W. Tufts, Boston, #4385”. It definitely needs a good polish! I paid $300 for this piece and have enjoyed it for many years.

The wide rim has a high-relief grapes and leaves pattern, the center of the bowl has mirror-like shine. The mark on the base of the bowl indicates it was produced in Spain, with the initials WA; I do not know the name of the manufacturer. Very good condition. This auction offers a silver plated centerpiece fruit bowl obtained from a Hartford. Connecticut estate. This bowl is perfectly formed for making beautiful arrangements of fruit. This item measures approximately 10" in diameter and 7" tall and has a handle. It depicts hummingbirds and bees and displays a floral motif resembling canterbury bells. There is a finely designed edging. I am unclear as to the maker as the signature is not clear, however an RO can be seen along with the hallmark of a fisted hand with electricity with the words triple plated. Numbered 1633. See photos(I can assume Rogers/International Silver as Meriden, CT is close to Hartford, CT) I was told that the owner had this bowl resilvered in the 1960's and that appears to be true as there are the initials H/D etched close by the original signature. Thank you for viewing this auction for a wonderful large bowl or could call it a centerpiece with heavy engraving on the top with some plain ribs to add to it it has a very nice edge border with a pierced area just before it! Item is marked with the Ellis-Barker logo(Menorah from 1912) on the underside there is a 10 and on the opposite side there are 4 indent 1 on top of 3 that I cannot make out and I think someone tried to clean out as here are some scratches around it. Item is large one of the largest Ellis-barker bowls I have seen 18 inches long x 13 1/2 inches wide and the sides are 1 1/2 inches tall Good used condition showing normal vintage usage marks the only faults I see is scratching on the bottom of the engraved side more so where it is open for a mono or crest but none was ever put on and around the 4 indent marks on the underside ... moreit has some scratches. This is a stunning antique 19th century silver-plate WM Rogers MFG Co. compote dish#934 it has a wonderful shiny finish. An ornate art deco design, and made of a brass base metal. It has a wonderfully detailed handle with a thick decorative center that pivots back and forth on the very detailed deco mounts. the dish dips down like any ordinary dish but in the center dips back up then down with hand engraved initials in the center.MAW" the design is sort of like a volcano look but hard to see from the pictures. the rim has many little intricately ribbed detailing. the base is a circular shape which tapers in to the nicely designed shaft. signed on the bottom by maker. measures 9 3/4 inches tall with handle by 9 1/2 inches wide. it still has a wonderful shine and the silver is still in good shape especially for being so old. the handle ... morehas the brass showing through from use but gives a wonderful look. there are minor scratched and very little dings from the handle hitting. Offered for your consideration is this most impressive silver plated plateau centerpiece. It was made by Gorham Manufacturing Company likely at the end of the nineteenth century. I've had this piece for several years trying to decide if it was made to hold an art glass bowl or to"stand alone" I still don't know but it's such a nice example that I'll let you decide! The footed plateau features three classical bearded faces around the rim. The base has three sides with a reticulated scroll and shell design. This piece is 8 1/2" high. 9 1/4" across at the top and 5 1/4" at the base. It is marked"Gorham Mfg. Co. 0100 Silver Soldered" with the maker's anchor trademark. NICE Wallace Baroque Silverplate Tall Round Compote Centerpiece Footed Bowl 11"
I am trying to liquidate my inventory from my antique store that I closed years ago. I also find new and interesting things at local estate sales. This is a wonderful vintage silverplate compote. It was made by Wallace and the pattern is"Baroque" A very popular pattern. This compote is like a large footed bowl, has ridges along the inside of the bowl and the rim is slightly scalloped or wavy. It measures 11" across and 6.75" tall. It is in very good vintage condition with no real damage or repairs. There are some light scratches from usage, I have not tried to polish this piece. Amazing Antique probably 1850's to 1880's mfg'd& plated by Reed& Barton Gilt. The number 3647and another# 4804? is etched on the bottom also. The scene in the bottom of the dish is a dog. Sunflower, fence, various plants and a wooden barrel. Heavily decorated throughout the piece. There are different dogs all around the bowl along with different fruit limbs. Cherries, apples, pears.It is even decorated on the inside rim of the bowl. Awesome and rare piece of Reed& Barton silverplate. Measuring approx. 11" in diameter and 4" tall. Up for sale is a vintage silverplate centerpiece bowl made by the Sheridan Silver Company. Sheridan was in operation from 1946-1973 in Taunton. Massachusetts. This bowl is marked on the bottom with the Sheridan hallmark of a crown next to an S followed by a shield. It is marked under this silverplated. Bowl is made in the shape of a large oyster shell with a Koi fish decoration on the top which could be used as a handle. There are two holders beside the fish that I would assume could be used for toothpicks to take out the shrimp or whatever type of small appetizers would be served. This has three finely detailed feet on the bottom. Bowl is huge, measures 16" long, 13 1/2" wide and is 3" tall(5 1/4" to the top of the fish handle) This is in good condition, no dings or dents. These bowls may be removed and pillar candles will fit on the arms for a different look. Made in England" Measures 10.25' x 8.25" and stands about 3.5" tall I'll leave the cleaning to the buyer as some people like their older silverplate pieces with a bit of tarnish and others not so much. Late 19th-Early 20th C. Sheffield, England. Naturalistically modeled, the bowl cast in the form of a large leaf with network of finely incised veins, the whole supported on three shell feet. MARQUISE 1847 Rogers Bros 14” silverplate round bowl centerpiece flower frog. No monogram or major imperfections. It is tarnished and needs cleaning. There is some superficial scratching and scuffing, some pitting marks inside the bowl, not seen from the outside. This is a large impressive piece. Should shine up nice.
