THE BOWL ITSELF IS ABOUT 2" DEEP AND WITH THE LID ON IT IS ABOUT 5 1/2 INCHES TO THE TOP OF THE LIFTER. WHEN I GOT THIS PIECE IT WAS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH A BLACK PATINA. I POLISHED IT BUT DIDN'T COMPLETE THE JOB SO THERE IS STILL SOME TARNISH. ESPECIALLY IN THE RAISED DESIGN. THE WOOD OF THE HANDLE HAS A CRACK, AS SEEN IN THE SCANS, OTHERWISE THIS IN IS GOOD LIGHTLY-USED CONDITION.

Classic Finwick 882/Wm Rogers oval silver plated covered vegetable bowl doubles as two serving bowls. Just flip the lid and the cover becomes a second impressive serving dish with two delicate handles. Measuring approx 9" X 12" and in very good used condition as is. But could use some silver replacement on the top/ bottom rim. If the cover is used as a second bowl, the imperfection will not be seen as it becomes the bottom of the serving piece.

This covered silver plate serving dish belonged to my sister and is hallmarked with 3 marks. The first is an M. The next is a symbol as seen in the pictures and the third is a c with a crown over it. I can not interpret these hallmarks. Perhaps you can identify the maker. I think this piece had a glass liner but doesn't have one now. It measures 12 by 9 inches. BRISTOL, CT 204 Measures about 5 3/4" across bowl and 7 1/2" handle to handle This is a very pretty bowl with raised floral pattern. I am assuming it is some type of serving vessel. However, I am not sure what the metal insert is for(maybe a butter dish? It is in need of a good cleaning. The inside of bowl and metal insert have a rough texture. It measures 7" in height and 10 1/4" in diameter and has the original Pyrex dish liner. This dates to about 1960 and the maker is unknown but there is a small piece of the maker's label on the base. Nice patina on a mid 1800's footed. Covered bowl,hand engraved Victorian design by J.H. Washburn Natick, Mass. pattern# 2413. This craftsman was listed as a jeweler and watchmaker, not really a silversmith. I believe this is a rare find and possibly the only one like it by Washburn. The only maker's mark found was a J.H. D.E. Washburn and J& D W. No dents. Dings or loss of silver, just the tarnish. 5 3/4" tall with cover on x 7 1/4" wide handle to handle. Nice engraving! Fancy feet!

I have a surplus of nice silver plate and need to make room for other inventory plus with my arthritis I cannot polish any longer. Here are 3 really nice estate pieces at a remarkable price. The bread plate was still in the wrapper and I do not believe it was ever used. Hallmarked Wm Rogers 819. 12.5" long& 7.25" wide with a simple"rope" border. Although I think this was never used, it has a scratch on one side where I think another dish hit it.not a bad one but needs noting. A gently used silver plated bowl and cover. The edge looks like a nice little rose or daffodil flower with greenery. Simple but adds a nice decorative touch. Outside edge to edge is ~10.5" and interior diameter is about 8-8.5" I think a bonus is a lid to keep food hot or protect it until ready to serve. The interior bottom of the bowl ... morehas some round marks like a glass bowl may have sat in it at one time; however, no one will ever see that when serving. Since the sticker remains on the back I assume this 10" plate or charger(small tray) was never used. I love the fact that it is plain. A back logo reads"Wm A Rogers by Oneida Ltd Silversmiths" Light superficial scratching in the center but nothing objectionable. Brass stand not included.

Vintage Reed and Barton Silver Plated Covered Serving Dish; Great, Late 1940's
This is a very nice silver plated covered serving dish. Reed and Barton was founded in 1924 in Taunton. Massachusetts. The company is one of the oldest privately owned silversmiths in the United States. This particular covered casserole dates back to the late 1950's. The pieces are octagonal in shape and have a removable knob at the top. The dish is very well made and features a Greek key design on the lid, and the under dish. Overall, it is in very good condition, but there is some minor pithing on the inside of the bottom portion(see photo 6) This is not very serious, and does not really affect the look of the piece overall. Aside from this, the pieces look great. The under side has the Reed and Barton mark with a globe icon(photo 12) It also has the abbreviation for electro plated nickel silver. WELCOME TO MY PAGE UP FOR AUCTION: VINTAGE EUROPEAN? COVERED WRYTHEN LOBED SILVERPLATED BOWL The featured bowl represent a lidded bowl that possibly was meant to be used as a soup tureen. It appears to be silver plated but there are no marks found about the material and the maker. I would speculate it was made in Europe. The bowl measures approximately 5 3/4" tall. 7" in diameter at the opening and 4" at the bottom. The body and the cover feature hammered design that is slightly visible and ribbed/wrythen lobed pattern. The finial is made in the shape of a fruits sculpture made of plaster/gypsum coated in silver. The item comes in well preserved condition. Clean with small patina and tarnishing. This auction is for a lovely silverplated footed serving dish with a 1.5 qt Pyrex glass insert. It stands about 7.5" tall(including lid) and is approximately 12" handle to handle. The glass insert is in great shape with no chips. Cracks, stains or major scratches. The silver doesn't have any scratches, dents or dings, but it does need a good polish. Someone put tape on it and even though I got the tape off, the residue needs to be polished off(which is more than my arthritis can handle) There's a crack in the side that isn't noticeable when the insert is in place. Some still in their original gift boxes. on a top cupboard shelf. I have to admit that as I was unwrapping this dish. It was disheartening to discover how much tarnish it ... morehad accumulated in the past half century. But I was just as surprised to see how quickly it disappeared as I wiped it off with a little silver polish. Although the outside of the bowl is as smooth and shiny as the photo depicts. the feet and handles also are tarnish-free. But slightly less lustrous– probably because they not only appear to be made of a heavier metal. But their surfaces also have etched designs. ~~ ~ description ~~ ~ This CASSEROLE DISH was made in the USA by the English Silver Mfg Company. But the only historical information I could find about this company stated that it was located in Brooklyn. NY from approximately 1950 to 1999. It includes the following pieces: 2-qt. Glass Pyrex Bowl for cooking and storage of leftovers(if any! Silver-plated Metal Container for the bowl– Matching Container Lid Diameters of both the bowl and outside container are approximately 9 inches. Unlike some heavily ornate. Antique William A Rogered Covered Silver Plated Oval Dish
Antique Willam A. Rogers silver plated covered oval serving dish. Measures 9" x 6 1/8" Bottom dish mesures 1 3/4" tall. Total height 5" to top of handle. The handle on the top is removeable which enables the top to be used as another serving dish. I polished this with silver cream polish. It has been in storage for many. Many years in a silver protective cloth. Shows normal wear. Marked William A. Rogers, EPNS 9 and 800 which I assume pertains to the size or pattern.

Antique Silver Plated Covered Serving Dish / Tureen. Rectangular. Two Handled
A wonderful rectangular covered veg dish. Manufactured and silver plated by Frank Cobb of Sheffield. The piece is stamped accordingly on the underside along with A1 and the company logo. With a reeded border and lid decoration the top can be turned over and used as a second open serving dish. With two handles this neat dish measures approx 25.5cm in length, 15cm in width and approx 7cm high. The lid fits beautifully and the piece shows very little signs of wear, only that which might be expected for a piece of approx 100 years old! No major bruising or plate loss to speak of. All in all a really super serving piece!
