Beautiful Vintage Pierced Silver Plated Pedestal Compote
This is an absolutely beautiful and delicately pierced silver plated pedestal compote bowl made by International Silver Co. There are four large apple-shaped pierced areas surrounded by scrolls which are also pierced. There are leaf and crown patterns all around the top surface. The circular base has a 5" diameter and is ribbed several times. The pedestal itself is also ribbed at its widest point. There is a great deal of work in this piece so that even the underside is beautiful. Please see photos. It stands just over 7" tall and the opening of the bowl measures a full 12" across. It weighs 2.5 lbs. Excellent condition and lovely to serve fruit. Chocolates or as a display piece.

For your consideration. A beautiful silver plate, footed centerpiece, compote bowl from the late 1800’s made by B. Buch. This oval shaped dish has finely detailed leaves that scroll along the open handles and there is a floral motif on either side. The bottom of the dish has a geometric textured woven pattern. The dish measures 13” long. 9” inches wide and is approximately 3” deep and weighs 1pound. Stamped B. BUCH and stamped WARSZAWA. GALV, W.M.F. No. 24, E. I hope the pictures do this piece justice. As it is a beautiful piece of workmanship. Very good condition for a 19th century piece. Solder marks underneath where the bowl is attached to the footed base; do not know if it was previously repaired. The B. Buch company was first known under the German name Gebr der Buch. Estate found.vintage International Silver Co. silver plated bowl/tureen with art deco stylization. Numbering shows that this piece was either made for the railroad or hotel use. This number was used for Sheraton and Hilton Hotels. I believe this is a soup tureen which is missing it's lid. There are no hotel/railroad name engravings. Oneida Silversmiths 6" Compote Silver Plated Fruit - Nut - Candy Dish
William A. Rogers 6" Compote Bowl. Made by Oneida. Silver plated. Fruit/nut/candy dish. Solid pedestal base will keep it from falling over. My parents received this bowl as a 25th wedding anniversary gift in October 1980. They have never used it. It was sitting on a closet shelf, in a bag, wrapped in its original tissue paper. It was a little tarnished, so i polished it up, now it looks brand new. There are no dents, chips, or scratches. The bottom is marked on the underside"Oneida Silversmiths" There is a scalloped design in the bowl, with a gadroon(simulated braided rope) edging. Beautifully Shaped Bowl with the Outward& Downward Swoop of the Outer Edge. The Maker's Mark and My Research Indicates this is a Lehman Brothers Silverware Corporation Silver Plated Bowl. They were Active in New York around 1930. My Educated Guess is this was used as a Nut or Fruit Bowl or Even an Arrangement of Dried Flowers. In All my Searching this Bowl seems to be a Unique Style because I've Not Come Across Another One. Center of Bowl 7" D. Outside Edge of Bowl Approximately 12" D, 2 1/2" H. Engraved on the Bottom are the Initials LB inside the words Silver Plated. The Number 586058 is also Engraved. If you have a question please contact me prior to making your purchase. Measures approx 3 1/4" tall, 6 1/2" across the top& 2 1/4" across the bottom. The underside of the foot is marked Oneida Silversmiths. Two nicks on the base of the foot, some scratches or scuffs. Very nice antique silver plated footed shallow bowl or compote dish. It has an Art Deco look with a stepped square base and scalloped edge. It measures 9.5 inches diameter and 5 inches tall approx. Stamped with the makers name on the base- Sharman Neill Belfast. Some wear to silver plate on the rim of the bowl and a few scratches in the centre but otherwise good condition. Could do with a good clean up. Nice original piece- please see my other items. Happy to combine postage where possible.
