But likely the 1940’s. 6 ½ inches in diameter Stand 1 ¼ inches off the surface on three claw-type legs. F. B. Rogers Silver Co. was a silversmithing company founded in Shelburne Falls. Massachusetts in 1883. It was acquired by Edmund W. Porter and L.B. West. Who incorporated the company and moved manufacturing operations to Taunton. Massachusetts in 1886. For several years. The company became known as West Silver Company, and was producing silver products for the William Rogers Manufacturing Company of Hartford. Connecticut. About 1904. West and Porter retired and sold the company to William Davison, Carleton A. Woodward and H.E. Nearing, who changed the company's name back to F.B. Rogers. Silver Plated Candy Dish from Neiman Marcus. Vintage! BEAUTIFUL! This Beautiful Silver Dish/Bowl. I assume is a candy dish. It could be used for a Butter Dish. Candle Holder, Sugar Bowl, Sauce Boat, Tray or Platter. The bottom of the dish or bowl measures 8 7/8"L X 7" W and is 1 1/2"Deep. The top measures 7 1/2"L X 5 1/2"W and is 1 1/2"Deep. The handle on the top stands 1 1/4" tall. The Green Velvet Neiman Marcus box that this piece comes in measures 11"L X 8 1/2"W X 6 1/2"Deep. This is a very heavy piece. Not sure of the age but it is Vintage. There are a few scratches here and there but can probably be taken care of with polish. Please see the pictures. They describe it better than I can. There is some corrosion and pitting inside the bowl as it was used for soap. The design of it is very unique and asymmetrical. If you look at the shape of it closely. Nothing lines up quite evenly. The work around the edges is lovely; scroll work with leaves. There is a formed thumb-print molded shape to the bowl and base. The hallmark on the bottom is very hard to read. If you zoom in on our macro 5th photo perhaps your expert skills are much greater than our amateur silver hallmark knowledge. A"582" is stamped over the hallmark so it is very hard to read even with the loupe. Up for auction is a beautiful antique Gorham Sterling Silver Bon Bon dish or nut bowl. This is in the Versailles pattern. Bowl is marked"Gorham" YC1751" B913716" The 6 may be a G, it is hard to tell, this number is etched very lightly into the piece, not stamped. There is also something else that looks to have an"E" and a"P" but I couldn't quite make it out. Bowl measures about 5 1/2" across and about 1" tall. Base of this is about 2 1/2" across. Some small scratches in very bottom of bowl. I did not try to buff them out or remove them. Very shiny. But probably needs to be cleaned thoroughly! ON SALE! Beautiful. Untarnished silver plated serving dishes. The dishes on the left is the Towle buffet serving dish with lid, the two in the center are the Reed and Barton# 1202 and#1232. The gravy boat is not stamped as far as I can tell, but is very similar to the Towle dish in look and weight. All are in great condition! If you are interested, I can provide more pictures.
