This is a beautiful Art deco 1920's-1930's Silver plater pierced bowl compote. very clean and in excellent condition for the age. A couple tiny breaks in the piercing and one tiny chip in the bowl. Has no pitting or rust, Silver plate is in great condition. The bowl has a beautiful designed piercing and scalloped edge. measures 9" tall x 10" diameter at the top and a 4 1/2" diameter base Moreware plate with an M in a diamond mark. Not sure if this old handled bowl or compote is sterling or silver plate. It has some scratches and a deep scratch under the base but doesn't reveal any base metal. Copper etc. I'm not familiar with the hallmarks. Maybe someone will let me know who the maker is! Beautiful Art Nouvea style footed compote with lid Made by Evans Case Co. with bottom stamp Dual lions w/ shield Evans EP NS 106 it is silverplate on nickel measures: appx 5.5" tall(w/lid) x 13" long w/handles. 7" lid diameter This is a rare Evans Case company piece. They mostly made cigarette cases and lighters. The company started in 1920's in Anaheim. CA. They created a few different Electroplated Nickel silver bowls. Vintage Silver Plate Pedestal Footed Bowl Trophy Style Compote Made in India
Vintage tarnished silver trophy style compote. This pedestal bowl has a sticker on the bottom that says Made in India. I'm not certain if it is silver plate. But it appears to be. The finish underneath the silver looks gold. The compote is tarnished and the silver is worn in places. This piece measures 6.5" tall and is 7.25" tall at the top of the handles. The bowl is 12" by 9" Oval shaped. Not including the handles. The piece measures 17" from handle to handle. The handles looks like fish. This dish would look pretty holding moss orbs or even white narcissus bulbs or other bulbs with moss around them.
