A rare offering- a single plate from the highly collectible"Famous Clyde Yachts 1880- 1887" by Henry Shields. Published 1888. The book plates are chromolithograph prints of Shields' original watercolours. The print area is 8 inches by 11 inches and the book page to which it is still attached is 12 inches by 13 inches. The backing page has some foxing and staining as well as damage to the top corners(clearly visible in photos) where it has been removed from a mounting at some point. The plate itself also has some damage and spotting. Please seen in particular the top right corner where a water stain is visible. Despite not being in perfect condition. This print is still lovely to look at and highly collectible. The colours are soft and bright; this publication was considered an extremely good example of the chromolithograph process ... morewhen it was published in the late 1800s. In better condition these prints sell for several hundreds of GBP apiece, whilst an intact version of the book sells for many thousands. The print has some slight buckling which is a result of the print process and the fact that it is stuck to the page; however this would be easily addressed with good mounting and framing. Altogether a lovely piece of nautical/maritime art and a highly collectible item. I will post this item anywhere worldwide with security appropriate to finishing price. A lovely old book measuring 9.5cms across and 15cms long Ist Edition of 10.000 in 1914 As you can see there is some foxing to the outer pages but the inner pages are not so bad also as you can see the the binding inside has come adrift and pages 1- 16 are not attached. It looks like the first handwritten dedication is signed by a Coleridge it couldn't be Samuel Coleridge as he was deceased by then but might be a relative.

Antique Beatrix Pottery Books
These book are not in great condition but they are not falling apart either. Someone has scribbled on the back page of the larger one and it has a tear on the inside first page. The cardboard spine and some of the front picture is missing on the smaller one(The Tale of Two Bad Mice) but that it the worst of it. The inside of the larger one(The Roly Poly Pudding) is inscribed with the date May 22 1917 and the book measures 16cm x 20cm. The smaller book measures 10cm x 14cm.
