It has a burl walnut veneered top with drawer having molding and a carved grapes pull. Below are arched glass doors with locks and a key that operates both locks. At the case corners it has carvings and the case sits on a nicely molded base. There are six adjustable shelves inside with extra supports. This stunning example in keeping with traditional design has an arched cornice over a single mirrored door enclosing adjustable shelves along with drawers and pigeon holes as well as an oak sliding candle tray. The bureau base has a fall down front enclosing further drawers supported by pull out lopers with a bank of graduating drawers being raised on bracket feet. Antique Victorian What Not Shelf Walnut Furniture Corner Bookcase Etargere 1800s
This auction is for a wonderful antique corner what not shelf. It is Victorian. Was used to display fancy glassware etc. and from the mid to late 1800's. Made of a beautiful walnut, it is of a nice weight and is sturdy. It is about 60 inches tall. It is in very good condition for its age- it does have one piece of decorative trim that is missing on the upper left(see photos) This could be replaced or you could probably remove the decorative trim from both sides if you want to even it up. There is one small area of old scratches in the wood on the second to bottom shelf.see last picture) I consider this very minor. I believe it is the original finish and it is in great condition.
