This is a very old R W Archer& Bros piano stool. I obtained this from an estate sale in Ohio. This stool is solid and has a nice weight(over 15lbs) I believe the wood is Mahogany but I am not 100% sure. The stool works as it should and swivels up and down. I bought it to restore but it has been sitting for about a year and it has become apparent that is not going to happen. The seat needs replaced and recovered and there are some nicks and wear(please see pictures) This stool is as I found it and I have done nothing to it. It is marked may 6 1978. A French Curule Antique Stool with Gilt and Gesso surfaces c. the middle of the 19th Century. With bold and imposing materials, every aspect of this fine stool exudes strength and a robust spirit. The stuffed upholstered seat is thick and comfortable, the fabric in very poor condition. The exposed apron is carefully molded with a beaded edge before the crossed-ribbon and tied foliage design that wraps around all four sides. Resting over crossed"X-Frame" supports, typical of the Curule form of Neo-Greco furnishings, these trumpet in a way that gives great lift to the seat and a perfect amount of space between the base and the apron to downplay the heaviness of the form. Flanking a carved stretcher ... moreare large finials that rise from the X-joint, the entire stool terminating over oversized round feet with carved rosettes. Just a treasure in every regard. The surface has years of legitimate character worn into it's skin, this an entirely original gilt over gesso surface now oxidized and dirty from decades of enjoyment. For anyone that cherishes an early surface, a gritty and grimy layer juxtaposed against incredibly fine carved embellishments, this is a piece that will certainly enhance any setting it becomes a part of. Measurements: 20 7/8" wide x 19 1/4" long x 19 1/2" high Condition Report: Upholstery is stained and dirty. Significant wear and chipping to gilt and gesso throughout. Resulting in exposed wood and a somewhat rough appeal- we find this attractive and find it adds great visual interest to the piece, but please look carefully at the images to ensure this is the look you appreciate. Two interior rosette disks missing. Underside a small curved piece of wood is missing. One foot needs a pad under it to keep feet level. Sturdy and strong. This offering is for the 49" beautiful ornate antique oak church pew pictured It has a feature that is extremely rare.ornate applied carvings on both the outside of the end panels as well as on the inside of the panels(near the top on the inside) In 12 or more years of buying and selling 400 or more antique church pews. I have never had any with applied carvings on the inside of the end panels. The pew has been shortened from its original length and is just as it was used in the church; I have gone over it with Old English to cover over scratches from the nearly 100 years of usage. It is completely authentic and is an attractive looking piece that would look great in your family room. Entry way, on your porch or patio, in a sun room, in an office or reception area, or just about anywhere seating you would like to place them. The pew ... moreis 49 inches wide at the rear of the pew. You can see that both end panels taper in slightly. Making the front of the pew slightly narrower than the back of the pew. The end panels are 38 1/2" high. When placed against the wall. The pew will extend out into the room 24" Seat height is 15 1/2" from the floor and seat depth is 15" There is a slight curvature to the benches that you can see in the pictures. There is a very nice 32 inch wide hymnal rack attached to the back side of the pew. There is also a copper visitor card or small envelope holder on the back; this is probably not original to the pew but was added at some time by the church in Williamsport. The pew has some scuffs and rubs in the finish from well over 100 years of service in the church but it is very sturdy and in nice cosmetic condition. Great antique wooden and cast iron drafting stool. The factory cut on the leg rest loop came apart which is normal for these stools. Looks like the previous owner glued it and also drove a small screw up through the bottom just to insure it stays. It is very sturdy and heavy duty. Rocking Gout Foot Stool Wood Antique Needs Love
This rocking gout foot stool appears to quite old. We think it was probably home or shop-made because some of the pieces don’t meet fully. Leaving minor gaps between the pieces. It measures about 18 ¼” high. About 19 ½”long, and about 14” wide at the ends. It is covered in a pinkish red floral brocade fabric with braid trim at the edges. A darker. Plain cotton fabric is visible at the edges beneath the red brocade. The upholstery nails are visible. It rocks smoothly but it’s a little loose side-to-side. One of the lower side boards appears to have been partly cut a little too short. As shown in the last photo. A very thin wood biscuit ought to fill the space. The wood frame was originally stained dark but is worn. Particularly at the edges. The upholstery fabric is quite worn and has several very worn spots and some of the braid ... moretrim is missing. It has a feature that is extremely rare.ornate applied carvings on both the outside of the end panels as well as on the inside of the panels(near the top on the inside) In 12 or more years of buying and selling 400 or more antique church pews. I have never had any with applied carvings on the inside of the end panels. The pew has been shortened from its original length and is just as it was used in the church; I have gone over it with Old English to cover over scratches from the nearly 100 years of usage. It is completely authentic and is an attractive looking piece that would look great in your family room. Entry way, on your porch or patio, in a sun room, in an office or reception area, or just about anywhere seating you would like to place them. The ... morepew is 52 inches wide at the rear of the pew. You can see that both end panels taper in slightly. Making the front of the pew slightly narrower than the back of the pew. The end panels are 38 1/2" high. When placed against the wall. The pew will extend out into the room 24" Seat height is 15 1/2" from the floor and seat depth is 15" There is a slight curvature to the benches that you can see in the pictures. There is a very nice 32 inch wide hymnal rack attached to the back side of the pew. There is also a copper visitor card or small envelope holder on the back; this is probably not original to the pew but was added at some time by the church in Williamsport. Pa where the pew was used for over 100 years. The pew has some scuffs and rubs in the finish from well over 100 years of service in the church but it is very sturdy and in nice cosmetic condition. The pew was originally much longer with a middle support piece in place.perhaps 20 feet long or more. DESCRIPTION A Primitive Old Farm Stool from Lancaster County An Antique Pennsylvania Farm Stool that is most unusual. we've never seen another one like this. a true and quite rare PRIMITIVE handmade wooden stool still with quite a lot of old dry surface paint finish visable. This was made so that the top portion of the stool rotates. A rare SWIVEL SEAT milking stool. The entire stool is all hand hewn and comes apart in three pieces. Probably originally used in the barn for milking cows. It's extremely old. Certainly at least c.1880 and possible well before that date. The base has three legs that are mortised through the thick slab of wood that supports ... morethe seat. Looking down on the top of this part of the stool. You can see that all three of the legs are mortised and tenon construction. Each was fitted with a small piece of wood, splaying the top portion of the leg and adding strength to the join. One tenon has an old nail through it. Each of the legs was hand hewn, you can see the axe marks clearly on them. One of the legs was replaced, but many years ago, it has a more rough surface and there is no old paint on that one. The other two have a smooth feel to the surface, and you can still see and feel the axe marks. The seat is made from one solid piece of oak. Again all hand hewn. It's quite wide and oval shaped measuring 12" across in one direction and 11" across in the opposite direction. And it is dish shaped, raised at the sides and dips down low toward the center. The height of the seat portion varies. From wear and use, depending on where you measure, it is anywhere from 3" to 2-3/8" high. Lots of wear visable and old paint around the canted sides. The stool has I think a mahogany base with lovely beadwork designs of flowers on the top that has nice colour and a great effect, the stool has nice patina with age and measures 12 x 9 inches, there are a couple of areas of damage to the beadwork as seen in the photos and a few beads missing here and there with age and use, the piping on the edge also needs fixing in places as also seen in the photos, a little tlc will bring the stool back to its best

Oak Antique Carved Bible Box/ Stand Circa 1875 This lovely piece measures 36"h x 21"w x 16"d approximately. It weighs in at about 35lbs. Beautifully carved oak. Barley twist legs, there are two drawers and 3 cubbyholes on the interior and a secret drawer to the right side- exterior. There are no keys. 1 of the brass hinges to the lid feels slightly loose. There is some wear and fading to the finish in some areas. There is a knothole in the bottom of the secret drawer with a notation on paper tape that reads- 25 Nov. 1909 to close up knot hole underneath" This is probably Scottish or English circa 1875, the date of 1669 and initials TP carved to front are also probably commemorative. I believe the frame is walnut, possibly mahogany- a classic hard wood in the original finish with great patina. The top cloth covering has no tears or stains, some normal age related soiling only. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL. Victorian era bench. The bench is constructed of heavy, cast iron with a beautiful, gold gilded finish. The legs have a gorgeous design with ornate patterns and lion claw feet. The bench has a fabric seat which has been covered in a French toile fabric. The toile depicts several French Country, rural scenes and is quite lovely. It features a burgundy background with muted colors in the patterns. The bench is in very good condition. There is some very minor loss of the gilded finish in just a couple of areas. The fabric appears to be fairly new and is in very good condition. The padding is also quite good. 19th C Antique Fumed Oak Adjustable Piano Stool w unique glass ball claw feet NR Measures approx. 14" in diameter. The base is 15" tall, the height is 19- 25 inches This antique 19th century American Chas Parker Co. adjustable fumed oak piano stool is in excellent condition overall. The glass ball feet are not exactly claws. More like a porthole or eye design which is very unique. If you look carefully you might notice minor wear to the seat top and the glass balls show some typical wear and minor chips on the underside. There is a screw missing from the mount seen in picture 8, someone screwed it into the bottom of the seat for safe keeping. I tried it in the hole but it just spins. It's 13 inches long by 8 inches wide 8-1/2 inches high. A very old stool that has seen use but still 100% solid. A 250 pound man could stand on this stool with no problems. At some point they added some plastic castor buttons on the bottom so they wouldn't scratch the floor. You could easily remove them if you didn't want them on the stool. Offered is a significant. Early, primitive stool out of South-central PA with all the right talking points. It has a shaped violin-like seat. It shows very early nails and screws and early tool marks that could only have been made with 19th c. tools. The stool also has the original red color so sought after by collectors. The underneath exhibits early work with early chisel, saws, etc. It is very heavy and the wood would appear to be cherry and walnut or a mixture of both. It weighs 7.5 lbs. is 17" L, 10"w, and 9.5" high. This is without a doubt the best stool we have ever offered. You are bidding an an antique piano stool by Geo W Archer with patent date of May 6. 1873. Plate indicates manufacture as Rochester, NY. Stool has cast iron base with lion face image at the foot and a woman's image at the bend(knee) of the leg as pictured. Stool itself is made of wood with fabric seat cover, trimmed in gold fringe. Seat is rip free and unstained and fringe is intact but could use a tack or two to be complete. Height is adjustable up and down by spinning the seat up or down. The seat is 16" wide and the distance between the feet is around 13 1/2" Item is solid and weighs 15 pounds. Please ask any questions before bidding. Rare. Old, antique cast iron and wood swivel bar stool top. This wonderful piece of furniture was found in an old building in southern Mississippi. I was told it was once used an old cafe there. There are four holes were the legs of the base of the stool wood fit. The round iron base that screws up and down moves from side to side, making it wobble if it was on a leg base. I have not been able to date this piece so i am not exact on its age. This wonderful piece is very heavy weighing approximately 12 pounds.
