Appears to have original pine or soft wood cover top. With is covered with the original straw– the straw covered with remnants of original jute material. It was originally RED on the top, you can still see the original color through the corrosion and rust. In all its natural glory. This awesome authentic dairy barn milking stool makes a great decor piece or photography studio or theater production prop. Sits fine and is still usable and stable. Measures 12" high. Seat is round, 9" circumference. Smaller circle with 1-1/2" star cut out is 4" around in circumference. Finish is rusty with some corrosion. Hardware appears all original. Top of seat is not completely level and straight, it has conformed a little from years of use and has slight bends present on seat, see all photos. Appears to be an all original. The Seat has some slight wood separation where it was joined together due to age but it's not loose or anything, normal for something this age. In my opinion this is in great shape especially when you consider it's age, one of the better looking ones I have seen. ANTIQUE HAND MADE WOODEN PLANT STAND
This is an old handmade wooden plant stand. Likely American, which we believe was probably made in the early 20th century. It is 26 ½” in height. The hexagonal top measures 10” across at the widest point and the diameter of the base is about 11 ½” all measurements approximate) The stand weighs approximately 4 lbs. The stand is in good used condition. We’re not sure what woods were used. Perhaps pine. The age of the piece shows in the slight dishing of the top due to dehydration as the wood has shrunk across the grain over time. This happens in all older wooden pieces to a greater or lesser degree. The top has some surface cracking along the grain(they don’t go through) due to the same reason and there is a ring impression(not a water ring) but an actual shallow depression from supporting a heavy pot over the years. We see no repairs ... moreto the piece. Being hand made. This plant stand borders on the rustic but it is not a primitive piece. The form is much too graceful for that. The form is the plant stand’s chief attraction and justifiably so. We’ve never seen this form(especially the legs) in a plant stand before; probably because it may be one of a kind and not mass produced. The trunk of the item is also a hexagon like the top. The long legs are delicate in design with spurred knees and unusual spurred and tapered feet. Indeed, the stand appears to be standing of its’ toes much like ballerina. 18th Century George III oak bench of good colour antique Georgian
There are benches and then there are benches. And then there is the bench. And it's a cracker. One of the nicest oak benches we've seen in a long time with just fabulous colour and patination. Just shy of six feet long. The 2 1/4" thick slab of oak stands over splayed and chamfered legs. The wear to the edges along the edges of the bench were many many pairs of legs have rubbed against it over the last two hundred and thirty years or so is a lovely feature. The A frame supporting stretchers to the legs are a later feature. This is a very solid and sturdy(and heavy) 18th century oak bench and we just love it. They were made from 1750-1770. It has huge shop made nails and dovetailed joint's. Made up of wide pine board's. It is 6 ft. tall. 44" wide and 16" deep at bottom section. It has a removeable seat board for storage. It has a really good look. They said they never used nothing but a bees wax polish on it to keep it from drying out. I have included a cutting of a report of an auction sale at Lissadale House. Co. Sligo in 2003 which states that the circular and square hour glass stools that feature in the article are similar to those illustrated in T King's"The Cabinet Maker's Sketch Book" of 1835 and are attributed to Williams and Gibton who were commissioned to make various pieces for Lissadale House. In the sale the circular hour glass stool illustrated made £2660, the square one made £2100. Dates circa 1835. 18/19th century spanish colonial bench. Beautiful and rare Sabino wood. Constructed with Mortise& tenon pegged joints and hand forged nails. The back has three Gothic chip carvings with gothic finials on posts. This bench is was made in Mexico during that period because of the excellent craftsmanship and the Rare Sabino wood was readily available. Measures: 85" length. 43" to the top of posts. The seat plank is 12" and the back is 11 1/2" planks are 1 1/8" thick and posts are 2 1/2" Shows normal wear due to age.

Antique c 1700 William & Mary English Oak Joint Stool-Childs or Foot Stool
A William& Mary period oak joint stool measuring about 16 7/8” tall. 14.5” long, and 12” wide. This shorter size piece would have been a child's chair, or used as a foot stool. The woman I purchased this from acquired it from a professor friend of hers in Pennsylvania. It features pegged construction. With old forged rose-cut nails attaching the top. Said top is cracked and swayed, and has pulled away from the skirt, so if a replacement(as is often found with these) it was done many years ago. It is otherwise sound throughout, with scattered wear as pictured. The previous owner put felt pads on the bottom of the feet, but these could certainly be removed if desired. Queen Anne / Chippendale Mahogany Antique Claw & Ball Foot Stool 18th Century
Genuine 18th Century Short-legged Claw& Ball Mahogany Foot Stool Late Queen Anne or early Chippendale period and style. So dating circa 1730-50. The hand-cut rose head nails were used only until the end of the 18th Century. Boldly drawn claw and ball feet. The wood is very fine-grained and smoothly worked. Mahogany of this period came mainly from Jamaica and West Indies. This stool comes along with the original dressing tacks. Which were removed to replace the original badly worn covers and horse hair with cushioned modern black velvet. Original latticed lower dressing intact. But with water stain at one corner. 4 Small block supports used at each leg joint along with hammered round-headed(rose) nails. ANTIQUE PILGRIM CENTURY ENGLISH OAK JOINT STOOL WITH BEAUTIFUL MOLDED APRON
This antique Pilgrim century English oak joint stool is circa late 17th/early 18th century. It has a nice thumb-molded single plank top. Which appears to be original, while still retaining its original pegs. There is a beautiful molded apron on all four sides, and nice vase and ball turned legs, supported by squared stretchers. It also has its original feet. The construction of this joint stool is pegged, mortise and tenon. The surface is a nice warm brown with a pleasing patina. The joint stool measures 21 1/2" high x 18" wide x 10 1/2" deep. It is in good condition overall. There is a partial crack on the top. From age. One leg shows wear or damage(as shown in the last photo) but it has since been stabilized, showing no further damage. It is a very sturdy stool, with no loose joints. There are two repairs to the apron, one ... moreon the shorter side, and one on the longer side. These repairs have been done meticulously, and I am mentioning them just for accuracy. This antique English storage bench was crafted at some early point in the 18th Century. The craftsmanship is typical of the era, utilizing through tenons to join the majority of the frame, single and double pinning most joints with wooden pins with the back panels deeply chamfered on the back edges to rest in rabbet grooves in the stiles and horizontal braces. The seat has two lifting panels that allow items to be easily stored within(though the right side is lacking it's bottom boards) Rough and rugged with it's beautiful glowing patina. This is such a treasure for any French country style home or a classical Georgian interior. Sturdy and strong, this is a very functional and enjoyable piece that was built to last the test of time and will continue to do so for many years to come. Ive been told that while my mother did the needlepoint(in tbe 1920s) she actually replaced an older needlepoint on what was already an antique stool at that time. I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a Nice ORIGINAL ANTIQUE c.LATE-17THC OAK JOINT STOOL. Stool is 21-3/4"H x 14-1/2"W x 12-1/2"D. Probably c.1680 vintage or thereabouts. Lovely Stool with molded apron with shaped corners. Molded edge single plank top. Splayed turned legs. Retains a lot of it's original toe or hoof-shaped feet on bottom. Pegged and mortice& tennon construction(several extra very old square nails added as well on the top in it's history) Nice old dark color to wood which has a coat of vintage varnish on surface which has wear to it as found in estate. This piece is coming fresh out of a nice estate that was filled with nice-quality antique items this past weekend. I assume it is probably an English stool. But uncertain of origin myself. RARE Antique Mid 1800s Cricket or Long Footstool HIGHLY DECORATIVE
This Antique Mid 1800's Cricket or Footstool would have once been used by Ladies to rest their feet on. It is very well made and highly decorative. Stands 6 inches tall. Measures approximately 8 and 3/4 inches wide x 29 and 1/2 inches long. It is stuffed with straw. The lovely satin upholstery is original to the stool. Please see photos there are some areas where the fabric is quite thin. But still in good condition. The upholstery is surrounded by tiny brass tacks. The wood is beautifully designed and adorned at each corner by flowers. The wood base or underneath of the stool was painted to match the fabric. I'm not sure what kind of wood was used in the construction of this old beauty. A friend of mine wanted an item that I had in my house and I traded her it for this stool. It is in very good condition.

It has been frequently oiled keeping it very well preserved. The bottom(seat part only) was replaced which was done over 50 years ago and since it was done by a professional craftsman. You can't even tell. I can't say enough about the wood, it glows! REALLY this bench is a beauty. The white upholstery seat shown in the pictures does not come with it. The cushion is a very thick foam core and then covered with fluffed up loose, fine synthetic stuffing for a pillowed effect. It appears that this piece is all orignal without any new wooden pieces as you find with many other items from this period. proper wear to stretchers and top. All joints are hand wooden pegs with mortice and tenon joints. One leg is a bit shorter and the piece rocks slightly. Church pew with several inscriptions. IS. HMR, and 1698. The inscription"IS" I found on other church pews around that time. HMR" i believe is someone's initials. It was common place in the 1600s for the upperclass to rent a space in the church to place their pew. At that time you were fined if you didn't go to church a certain amount per year. The average cost have a pew made then was 5£. I believe this is an English pew.
