This is a beautiful antique Christian Shrine/Altar music box from the 40's. Made by Noma Light Co. Which is the same company famous for its Christmas Bubble Lights. It is ornately decorated with removable chalkware figures(Jesus& 2 Angels) Painted with the picture of the"Last Super" and adorned with frosted glass rod candles and frosted glass cross, which illuminate the color of desired bulb used. It is lighted and does work, however, a couple of the rubber grips on the candles are loose, so they do not stand a correct height. A little touch of glue could remedy that. The music box does not work( possibly could be repaired) The bottom of the altar is made of wood and can be removed for access to music box and light bulb. A pair of medium sized. Medieval or gothic style church candlesticks. Made from brass and with a nice amount of detail, including a knop stem, stepped base and a wavy edge to the bowls. They are of medium size. Standing about 7 inches(18 cm) in height, and made to hold candles of about 0.75 inches(1.9 cm) in diameter. These candlesticks were probably made for an altar in a convent or side chapel of a church. Condition is good overall with slight wear and some old polish residue and wax residue. PLEASE NOTE that these are a slightly mismatched pair: one candlestick has one raised ring on the upright. And the other has two. Pair Antique Brass Church Altar Candle Sticks Cherubs Angels
This is a great-looking pair of antique brass church altar candlesticks with cherubs/angels on them. I'm not certain how old they are. But I would estimate they date circa 1900. Each measures 23 1/2 inches tall(60 cm) They are 8 1/2 inches wide across the feet(21.6 cm) I think these are really special because they each have three cherubs going around them. The cherubs appear to be silverplate over brass. The feet are each an animal paw with a ball beneath it. They are beautifully designed. As you can see in the photos. They are each covered in tarnish. I'm not sure if this can be cleaned or if you'd even want to. The candle holders on top are each bent a little and one has a small break in it. The screws on the bottom insides of each are rusted in place. The individual pieces of the candlesticks can be turned around because of ... morethis. You can basically shape it as you like. I've tried but I cannot tighten them up. But they still hold up well. They are each a little crooked, probably because they cannot be fully tightened up. Even given these issues. This auction is for a pair or set of two 19 3/8" tall Baroque styled Altar candlesticks from a Catholic Church. I think these are what they call the"Holy Family" set. Because they have facial images on all three sides of the base, of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. There is a little damage on the base of the shaft of one of them. The finish on them is pretty decent for an older pair like this- it looks like somebody must have polished them at some point. Please note that they are also without the sockets at the top- you will have to provide those yourself and I don't know what size of socket these originally had(or if they are old enough that they had the prong at the top?

This altar painting came from the St. John's Church that was on display at the Bonanzaville Pioneer Village and Historical Museum of North Dakota. The church had a fire this past summer and was too expensive to repair so they sold the items that were inside. This is for an A.Gross Candle Co. Authentic Catholic Sanctuary Lamp complete with stand and ruby red leaded crystal glass lamp. For the glass: 14 1/2 inches round at the top 10 1/2 inches round at the bottom 9 1/2 inches tall 11 1/2 inches tall with the base attached 8 1/2 inches round interior bottom The base stands about 5 3/4" tall to the tips of the three prongs. And with the glass globe inserted, it stands 11.5" tall. The base measures at 5 1/2" wide from tip to tip at the widest point and the glass globe is just under 4 3/4" at the widest point at the top. The stand features ornate doghead feet that take rise to filigreed legs. Your eyes will focus then on the bands that wrap about the glass which are also adorned in fine metal work. This is without question a beautiful piece of artwork perfectly assembled for worship ... morein the house of the Lord or any home. This was manufactured in Baltimore Maryland in the United States in the 1940s. But does not show much age. Very Nice Antique Table or Altar Tapestry Shawl or Runner Cloth. Black velvet fabric with gold metal threading to design at both ends and metal fringes, silk lining on backside. This runner measures 17" w x 57 1/2" long including the fringe. Each design is in colors of gold, rose and green, medallion centers with scrolls. The material in this design has some wear, hard to see but mentioned for accuracy. Overall this is in very nice condition. I will be happy to answer any questions.
